00:00And that starts with the Pittsburgh Pirates.
00:02You get Brandon Lowe, Ryan O'Hearn, Jake Mangum, Gregory Soto,
00:06and Justixson Garcia, a.k.a. The Password.
00:10Our next honorable mention is the Kansas City Royals,
00:14who brought in Isaac Collins, Lane Thomas, Nick Mears, Matt Strom,
00:19extended Salvador Perez and Michael Garcia,
00:23brought in Cam Meisner from the Rays, Mason Black from the Giants,
00:26and they extended their manager on a three-year deal.
00:30And last but certainly not least in the honorable mentions category,
00:33the Atlanta Braves, who brought in Robert Suarez, Mauricio Dubon,
00:38Mikey Stremski, Hasyon Kim, and Rasiel Iglesias.
00:43We'll get into our top five in the moment, but among those three teams,
00:47if you had to pick your favorite honorable mention for best offseason,
00:51where are you going?
00:52I'm going to the Pirates just because for me,
00:55the Pirates are the team that has changed my perception of them
00:58maybe the most this offseason in the sense that I've always just fouled the
01:02Pirates away, like they're not going to contend.
01:04This year, with adding three guys into their starting lineup,
01:07I kind of think with the pitching they already have and trying to give Paul
01:12Skeens a shot, that we might see Skeens pitching a wild card game.
01:16And I think for the general baseball community, that's what we all want.
01:19So I like that the Pirates are active.
01:22I would love it if they capped this off by just spending a little bit crazy
01:26and fit Geno's bat in that lineup too.
01:28Why not?
01:29But I like what they did, especially for a team where our bar is just set so low
01:34for them that it's like, all right, wow, they made moves,
01:36and we're not used to that.
01:37I think they could also go make a trade for Alec Boehm as well.
01:41I would like for them to just add one more bat because you're right.
01:44Unfortunately, the Pirates themselves have set the bar pretty low.
01:50But this offseason, you're bringing in a couple of bats,
01:53and that's all we asked from them.
01:55Bring in a couple of bats because we know how good the starting rotation is.
02:00One more bat, sorry.
02:02What about even, you brought a Boehm?
02:03I'd even take Nick Castellanos on this team since they're going to do it for free.
02:07Stick Castellanos on right field.
02:08I don't care.
02:09Just get another guy that can hit the baseball.
02:11So anyway, I just want to throw that out there too.
02:13For me, I really like what the Royals did,
02:16improving their outfield with Isaac Collins and Lane Thomas,
02:20improving their bullpen with Nick Mears and Matt Strom,
02:24but also capitalizing on some extensions with their great manager, Matt Quartaro,
02:28and as well as Mikel Garcia at third base, right?
02:31You extend Bobby Wood Jr. early and for good reason,
02:34and now that contract looks great.
02:36But also Mikel Garcia is coming off a five-and-a-half win season
02:39was one of the best dual threats, right?
02:42We're in the middle of the football season
02:43when we're talking about defense and offense.
02:46I thought the Royals have crushed it so far,
02:48and the good thing is the offseason isn't over yet.
02:52I still think the Braves had a good offseason,
02:54but if I were to choose, I would go with the Kansas City Royals.
