Four individuals, including a 49-year-old motorcyclist who crashed into a drain while attempting to evade authorities, were arrested for testing positive for drugs during a joint operation by the KL JPJ and AADK at the Sungai Besi toll plaza on Tuesday (Jan 27).

00:00A 49-year-old man was among four individuals arrested after testing positive for drugs
00:07during a joint operation by the Kuala Lumpur Road Transport Department,
00:11a national anti-drug agency, at the Sungai Besitol Plaza on Tuesday morning.
00:17The motorcyclist had attempted to flee the authorities by riding against traffic,
00:21but skidded into a drain.
00:22When examined, the individual was suspected of possessing illegal substances,
00:33and a urine test screening also found him positive for drugs.
00:39KLJPJ Director Hamidi Adam said the other detained individuals consisted of one lorry driver and two motorcyclists.
00:46The four men were handed over to the National Anti-Drug Agency for further action.
00:51Meanwhile, Hamidi said some 382 summonses were issued for various offences,
00:57including not having valid driving license and road tax, as well as overloading.
01:03He added that two tour buses were among 21 vehicles seized for ferrying tourists
01:08without licensed and registered tour guides.
01:11Hamidi stressed that it was a serious violation,
01:14as it could jeopardize passenger safety and undermine the integrity of the tourism and tour transport industry.
01:21The immediate seizure was taken without compromise under the Land Public Transport Act 2010.
