00:00All right, Senior Bowl week, and the Giants are most definitely going to be looking for a wide receiver to add to the room.
00:06I think it all depends on what they're going to do in free agency.
00:10Hiring John Harbaugh kind of changes that approach, but if they don't take a wide receiver with the fifth overall pick,
00:19there are some mid-to-late-round guys that the Giants could fall in love with at the Senior Bowl this week if they ball out.
00:27First one, Brennan Thompson out of Mississippi State.
00:31I know he's only 5'9", but he can potentially serve as Wondell Robinson's replacement if he doesn't sign any sort of new deal with the Giants.
00:41He's a guy that just had 1,000-yard receiving.
00:44He may get a lot of money thrown his way in free agency,
00:47but if you want to potentially replace that type of athlete or that type of player,
00:53Brennan Thompson, fastest guy out there, 4-2-5 range in the 40.
00:58He's shifty, has great side-to-side.
01:01He can make a guy miss at the line of scrimmage,
01:03and most importantly, he can make a guy miss in the open field.
01:07Giants need more playmakers, more home-run guys in their receiving room,
01:11and if you're worried about him being 5'9", he plays a lot bigger than his actual height,
01:17same as Wondell Robinson.
01:18Took a lot of hits throughout this last season, but he bounced right up.
01:23Tough guy, could be a scheme fitter and be another playmaker in that wide receiver meeting room.
01:31The next guy, Malachi Fields, Notre Dame, was a UVA transfer.
01:35He's the biggest wide receiver in this draft class, I feel like, 6'4", 220, big body, big frame.
01:41He's a 50-50 guy, so 50-50 ball guy.
01:44So I want to see how many 50-50 balls he wins throughout the week.
01:48That's going to be big for him because the amount that he comes down with,
01:53the amount of 50-50s he wins, that's going to make it easier for him
01:56when it comes to what his 40 time will have to be at the combine.
02:02But strong hands, goes up, attacks the rim, plays like a bigger wide receiver,
02:06like a Brandon Marshall and a Plaxico Burris type.
02:09I want to see how he separates against the elite corners at the Senior Bowl
02:14throughout the week with his route running.
02:18And I want him to really walk away by defining what type of big body receiver he is.
02:23Is he a DK Metcalf?
02:24Is he a Plaxico Burris?
02:26Is he a Brandon Marshall?
02:27A lot of question marks can be answered by Malachi Fields this week at the Senior Bowl.
02:34Another wide receiver, Harrison Wallace III out of Ole Miss.
02:37He has strong, sure hands.
02:39He's that Jarvis Landry type.
02:41I think he has some of the best hands in this draft class or this receiver class.
02:45Smooth with his route running.
02:47That's why I made the comparable to a Jarvis Landry when he was in the NFL.
02:53I'm putting a challenge on him to go out there, handle business,
02:57and run the smoothest, cleanest routes of the week.
03:00Finally, Deion Burks out of Oklahoma.
03:03Another 5'9 guy, shifty, bouncy, has what I like to call bursts to go, bursts to go,
03:10and get out of the situation.
03:12You can see with a lot of the plays that he was able to make at Oklahoma this year.
03:16Here's the good thing about this kid.
03:18He makes plays not only in the slot, but he can move on the outside and make plays on the perimeter.
03:26He went downfield a lot and caught a lot of intermediate footballs as well.
03:30So, he's a 5'9 guy that looks like he can do it all.
03:34Obviously, the NFL is a different beast, but he was able to show a lot of that win
03:38in a lot of different situations while at Oklahoma.
03:42Another thing I like how he's such a hands catcher, not a body guy,
03:46and I feel as though, depending on who the new Giants offense coordinator could be,
03:51there could be some value to this kid.
03:54He can add some value to the receiver room.
03:57Some other guys that I like was Elijah Surratt out of Indiana.
04:0215 touchdowns on the year, plus he's a national champion.
04:06And Baylor's Josh Cameron, former walk-ons, got some reliable hands,
04:11had nine touchdowns this season at Baylor.
04:14Senior Bowl week kicks off Tuesday practices, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.
04:19And then you have the game on Saturday.
04:21So, a lot of these guys need to have themselves a big week
04:24to really make some noise for themselves at the start of this evaluation period.
