00:00We had the so-called NSU case in Germany, like neo-Nazis killed several people.
00:07I want to strike back somehow.
00:09Which interested me most was the idea of telling the story of a mother who lost her family.
00:15That was interesting to me most.
00:17She's still with me, but what drew me mostly to this movie is, yes, it talks about a terrorist attack, you know.
00:31But I always feel like, you know, we hear the numbers, we hear 22 people died or 100 people died.
00:37But we don't ever get to see what happens to the people that are left behind, you know.
00:43And I just connected with her so much and I hate her story.
00:48And how do you go on living, or not?
00:51Like, how can you possibly go on that losing a child in such a horrible way and your husband
00:58and the stupid quotidian things you have to do, like picking out a coffin.
01:04It's just, you know, I was right there with her and it's been actually kind of impossible to work.
01:09I haven't taken a movie since.
01:12I felt really numb after that experience and I'm only going to start filming now and in July, you know.
01:18But I've been sort of like walking around like a zombie.
01:23I never met somebody, an actress who is that focused and concentrated like her.
01:30You know, usually I'm the middle of focus on my sets, but this time she was the center.
01:36Yeah, Diane and me, we want to become like Humphrey Bogart and John Huston.
01:40It was a very special trait we had. It was very respectable and I think this is not the end.
01:47I think it's the beginning of a wonderful friendship.
01:50I just think sometimes when you're really lucky, you meet a director for whatever reason where you just know you're safe.
02:00You know, I would do anything for Fatih and I did in this movie.
02:03You know, I really jumped off that cliff.
02:05And he held my hand while doing there.
02:07I trust him blind.
02:08I'm not afraid to be emotionally naked in front of him.
02:14We were talking, we would love to make a miniseries about Marlene Dietrich.
02:18So, I'm putting it out in the world. We're going to try and pitch that, yeah.
