00:00TNT is open for business. It was the message from Minister of Works and Infrastructure Jolene John
00:06to a nine-member delegation led by United Arab Emirates Minister of State at the Ministry of
00:11Foreign Affairs, Noura bin Mohammed Al-Kabi. Al-Kabi and her team visited the Ministry of
00:17Land and Legal Affairs on Saturday, where John hosted a meeting that included talks with Legal
00:22Affairs Minister Saddam Hussein. In a release from John's ministry, it was revealed that she
00:27was able to outline key initiatives under the government's revitalization blueprint.
00:33As John pushed TNT as a hub for business, she highlighted the country's strategic geographic
00:38location, competitive advantages, and continued improvements in the ease of doing business,
00:44which together positioned the nation as an attractive destination for international investment.
00:50According to the Works Ministry, Al-Kabi in response to what was presented was welcoming of the
00:56discussions and has further expressed a strong interest in deepening engagement with this
01:01country. The ministry adds that the UAE Minister of State under Foreign Affairs has taken note of
01:08a significant potential for mutually beneficial partnerships and future investment opportunities.
01:14In this regard, the UAE delegation was able to venture to selected locations. This included a viewing of
01:21the Invaders Bay Development Project, the Port of Point Leasus, also called Plippdeco, and the
01:26Coover Children's Hospital. The Works Ministry says the engagement bills on recent ministerial outreach to the
01:32Middle East, where initial discussions were held to explore new avenues for collaboration and investment,
01:39aligned with Trinidad and Tobago's national development priorities.
