EU LCS 2014 Summer W11 Interview with SK CandyPanda
Transcript
00:00Hey guys, Krill-Chan here. This is week 11 of the European LCS Armour Split and I'm here now
00:19with Candy Panda from SK Gaming. Super week 3-1 so far with all the tiebreakers who are yet to be
00:26played if any. Are you happy with your performance this week? Did you expect these results?
00:34Can't say I expected, but I knew we were much stronger than the weeks before. And the game
00:39against Gambit, I mean we got sheathed at level 1 and then, not level 1, like in the jungle and then
00:45they had Kassadin so they could snowball really easy. That was kind of disappointing, but overall
00:50we played really well. Yeah, so before we talk more about the games this week, let me ask about
00:56the losing streak you had before that, what caused it and how did you deal with that?
01:02We tried to deal with it with a lot of ways, like fixing a lot of problems, but in the end it was
01:06just not playing enough and we just had to like play more. We just played way too little to be able
01:13to compete, so we changed it now. So this week you had four games and I guess only three days to prepare
01:20for them. How did you approach that? Did you prepare for some of the opponents more than the others?
01:26No, we just prepared on our playstyle, because that's what we felt was lacking. Like since the
01:31losing spree we like tried out so much different stuff and the mana picks changed and we just had
01:36to find our picks again. That's what we did. And then we felt like we could just adapt before the game
01:41what exactly we want to play against the opponent. So first game was against Millennium and you left them
01:47the Kassadin. Was that because Kerb doesn't really play him or because you thought he's not that strong?
01:53Yeah, we thought he won't play it, so we thought they banned it or just give it to us, but he first picked it.
01:59But we also said that we want to train against it in case we need to leave it open. Like,
02:04see he got nerfed lately and he might not be as strong as before, but I mean it worked with Kerb,
02:12but he's still very strong if played correctly. So against Millennium was just an exception because of Kerb.
02:19Yesterday you faced both Fnatic and Alliance and you ultimately won both games, but there were some
02:24scary moments in the mid game. So what happened there? I mean they are the best two teams right now,
02:29so it's expected to have some some bad moments, but it just means we have to train more. Like,
02:37there were two points in both games where we could have thrown it. We just have to pay more attention
02:43there and like look more at our strengths and our weaknesses of our comp and how we can imbuse it.
02:49So it's just more training. You already mentioned a bit about the game against Gambit today,
02:54the blue pot, Elise cheese, Evelyn, was that the main cause for the loss?
03:00Uh, that was like the start of it. And then because they had Kassadin, they could snowball that,
03:06that we had no jungle presence because our jungler died into just snowballing every lane bottom and mid.
03:13And then like Corki was so, I died so many times and Kassadin got so many kills and he had so much free
03:20roam to go wherever he wants because we had no jungle pressure and we couldn't like shut him down in mid because
03:25of that. I mean, it's just like a best of one. So it can happen. So playoffs are next week.
03:33Is there a team that you would prefer to face there?
03:39I really don't mind. Like I think Millennium and Rocket are both very good.
03:44So it would be no difference. I think it's better for us if we get fourth because we
03:49face Alliance instead of Fnatic. And I think facing Fnatic in playoffs is always
03:54more scary than Alliance. And the new patch was released on the live servers,
04:00like two days ago. I don't know if you have the chance to read all the million patch nodes,
04:06because I guess you might play that on the on the playoffs. So have you seen anything that concerns
04:12you there? There will be some changes, mainly in the bot lane, but I think the rest of the game will
04:19stay the same and it won't change much much of the meta. Like they didn't nerf any mid lane champion,
04:26they didn't nerf any top lane champion except Gragas and maybe a bit Lulu, but like the champions we
04:33play like Aatrox in Italy, they were like unaffected. So our game, like our game plan will not change much.
04:43So we just have to adapt to the bot lane changes. Like I think Tristana will fall out of favor,
04:47but Lucian will be enabled. So he will take her place and yeah, we'll be fine. Oh yeah,
04:54talking about the Lucian, what do you think about his new skill set? I think I was very overpowered
05:00when he first came out, but they removed the slow now, like they removed slow when he dashes and they
05:06increased the cooldown. So it's very fine now. I think he's good, like he's still tier one, but he's not
05:13totally broken. He can be dealt with, but I still think he will be very contested in the playoffs and
05:18he's still very strong. And if you want to say to the fans, sponsors? Yeah, thanks for supporting us,
05:25even though we had the last streak. And I hope we can make it to Worlds. Thank you very much for the
05:30interview. Best of luck at playoffs. Thanks.
