Introducing SK Gaming's LCS Roster for 2015

00:00So right before Gamescom, when we almost struggled to get into the playoffs and the team was a bit shaky,

00:10we understood that we needed more than the sports psychologist and the analysts with the team.

00:17We needed a real coach, a head coach.

00:19And even before Riot Games informed us that they would install this position,

00:23we decided that we would have this position with SK Gaming come 2015.

00:29And it was pretty clear for us that we would ask Joe, who was with SK Prime all through 2014 already

00:36and was super successful in managing players, making sure we got the best out of this roster.

00:42And so we asked him if he wanted to step up his game and become the head coach for SK Gaming for the LCS in 2015.

00:51He took a couple of days to think about it, because it's a big step, of course.

00:56And finally, eventually, he said yes. And here we go.

00:59There are summer champions here. Brilliantly done. Long best of three. Tough best of three.

01:06But this last game really coming out strong after, you could argue, should have won game number two.

01:15My name's Joe. You might also know me as Innerflame. You might also know me as the former manager of SK Prime.

01:24I will be managing SK Gaming LCS team this year. I'm here to shed some light into the reason behind we've made some changes within the team.

01:34I think overall, the reason why we made the changes was because, first, there was a lack of synergy in certain roles.

01:43And secondly, there was a lack of diversity in the play style of the team.

01:49So we want to kind of change it and we should be more aggressive this split.

01:56So the first thing I'd like to talk about is the mid lane change.

02:02We brought in Fox, formerly of SK Prime.

02:06Fox provides a deep champion and I managed to monitor him over a good length of time.

02:19So I know his ability and his kind of skill ceiling.

02:29At least I've seen his skill ceiling so far.

02:35I offered him or recommended him to the players to trial and we tried a few options.

02:43And he happened to be the best of all of them.

02:47Not only in my eyes, but also in the team's eyes.

02:51Ezreal, we have not seen him on a hyper carry like Coggle.

02:54Oh, but look at this one. Alex is burned.

02:56It's already on. Can they get the damage out with the Q?

02:58Oh, the flash from WTF? Nicely played.

03:01So the manager contacted me. I had worked with him before in Prime.

03:05So he managed to get me a tryout.

03:07And there was many others trying out.

03:10But I impressed the team, so they should still stick with me.

03:13So the atmosphere in the team is really good at the moment.

03:16And I'm looking forward for the next season and aiming to win the LCS.

03:20The second tryout we held was for the Eddie Carey position, or Marksman, however you'd like to call it.

03:28The player we took was Forgiven. I'm sure you already know him.

03:32And I don't really need to point out his strengths. I'm sure he proved it in the past.

03:37But he definitely doesn't lack any of those strengths that he has had before.

03:41He matches the ambitions of the team. He's highly committed.

03:47He's still very highly skilled. And I think he's a brilliant addition to the team.

03:52And the game survives. The regen comes in. He finally goes down. Forgiven, though.

03:56He's got two members on him, but he's just kiting them around.

03:59The support of Unlimited comes in. And it's a double kill for Forgiven.

04:02Well, I was inactive. I was not playing the game for three or four months.

04:06And I was going to retire. Then one day, SK came up and asked me for the Eddie Carey position.

04:12And I tried it out for a day or two. And the next thing I know is since SK asked me, there was no other choice.

04:19And the next day I was in the team. Well, I have high respect for the players, for the team,

04:25since I have competed against them in high-level competition and actually many times.

04:31I wanted for a long time to play with almost all of them, like with Chris and Redd,

04:38and with Svenskeren and Freddy, since they are at least two out of their best out of their positions.

04:45The expectations I have for the new season, since I think, at least in the game,

04:52it's going to be the biggest change with a new patch.

04:54It will be a bit strange in the first, but I think we will find our path.

04:59And personally, I think we aim for top two. I can't say we are going instantly for one for first place.

05:07So I guess time will tell. We have to wait and see.

05:11It's Mixer that are going to focus on the moment Impaler shows himself.

05:14Oh, the sonic wave didn't land. And now Amazing's in trouble.

05:16He's taking another tower hit, but he gets away with the safeguard.

05:19Oh! From downtown, the given user...

05:23What you are going to see from us next split is a highly aggressive team.

05:27And I do believe we are going to be one of the more exciting teams to watch out there.
