00:44there and you know Beltran with his postseason accolades and and and star performances along
00:53with his ability to switch it and be amongst the greatest switch hitters statistically that ever
00:59lived you know Carlos Beltran's going into the Met Hall of Fame this summer along with Lee Mazzilli so
01:05that's a class of three in that Hall of Fame the one in Flushing at Citi Field but you know to go
01:12to Cooperstown it's it's quite the honor and you know the the hall is just being expanded it was a
01:19very uh elite to very um private uh a little space up in Cooperstown and um uh they've opened their
01:28doors to players that might not have been the best of the best of the best but they've been very very
01:36good Bobby do you think Clemens Bonds and Rose should be in baseball's Hall of Fame yes absolutely
01:43they're the best that played at their positions are you kidding that's what that hall was there for I
01:49believe I think it was originally for the Hall of Records and if you got a record you got in the
01:53Hall of Fame if you were the the best in breed uh statistically uh you got into the Hall of Fame
02:00then it became uh if you had the best reputation you got into the Hall of Fame uh well these guys had
02:05reputation to go along with their statistics and uh who's to say that every home run that Barry Bonds hit
02:12wasn't against a guy who who also was doing steroids who's to say that Roger Clemens seven
02:18Cy Youngs would not have been won by him if uh he wasn't uh doing something that was making him
02:25perform better and you know at the end of the day it's a guy from your sport Dan that Lyle Alzado if he
02:32just stayed healthy steroids would have been allowed right through the whole thing and um no one had to
02:38worry about you know you know performance enhancing drugs other than Viagra being used in sports

02:59friends are going to be there so if you want to be with all my friends come on out and it's uh it's
03:04really quite the honor it's uh you know you know Dan I played for him as a mediocre player and I
03:10coached for him at third base as a really good third base coach then I managed for him uh yeah you
03:16know gave my entire being what when I did that and um they're inducted me to be with about 30 other
03:23great guys who were uh the orange and blue of the Mets
