00:00But let's talk about the new guys like Goldschmidt and Bellinger and having Max Freed.

00:06How do you think those guys are going to do in the Bronx?

00:09Well, the plan B was spread the wealth around.

00:13That's what the Yankees did.

00:14I think some of it was spent well, some of it was not spent well, to be honest.

00:18I mean, eight, nine years for Max Freed is a very long investment in any pitcher, let

00:23alone a pitcher that's already had some potential hiccups.

00:25I feel like the contract was so long because they expect at some point there will be a

00:29Tommy John surgery in his future, so he'll miss a season.

00:33But still, it's a very long contract for a pitcher.

00:36And it's funny because if you look across town, the Mets are the opposite in terms of

00:39pitcher deals.

00:40Right.

00:41They're like, what are you going to get you for a year?

00:42We are a reclamation project.

00:43Oh, you're a two year deal.

00:44A three year deal.

00:45I think that's a much smarter way of dealing with pitchers.

00:48Now it's going to maybe shy away some big time free agents.

00:51But I think what Max Freed did, you know, get that contract good on him.

00:55The Cody Bellinger signing.

00:56I like a lot.

00:57I don't think this guy's gonna be intimidated by New York.

00:59He's played in big markets his whole career.

01:01So that's not a problem.

01:02His dad was a Yankee.

01:03So nothing really faces Cody Bellinger.

01:05And I think that the flexibility he gives them at that first and center field is really

01:09important because I'm not sure what's left in the tank for Paul Goldschmidt.

01:13Paul Goldschmidt is a guy that has declined last three years running in pretty much every

01:17statistical category.

01:18I understand the Cardinals were not a good baseball team last year.

01:21I understand that New York is a more friendly environment, but sometimes some guys just

01:25lose it.

01:26So it's interesting to see if he gets off to a good start.

01:29Maybe that will start to change my tune about that.

01:30But in fantasy circles, especially, it's a guy that I'm not really looking at as a huge

01:34value.

01:35I like Bellinger.

01:36I love the Devin Williams signing.

01:37I think that was very important.

01:38The bullpen, especially the back end, was a problem for the Yankees last year.

01:41So a good move by the Yankees there.

01:42I'd say a good offseason by the Yankees.

01:45But I guess that I think long term that free contract a problem.

01:48And on the flip side, too, I think Goldschmidt might be towards the end and maybe he's got

01:52one more good year left.

01:53We shall find out.
