Barisan Nasional has officially retained both the Lamag and Kinabatangan seats with super majorities, according to the official results announced by the Election Commission on Saturday (Jan 24) night.

00:09Saturday. The Election Commission announced the official results at about 10 p.m., saying that
00:16Barisan's Mohd Ismail Ayob, alias Miha, won the Lamag state seat after garnering 7,269 votes
00:24against Barisan's Mazliwati Abd Malik Chua's 1,588 votes. After a slight delay,
00:31Mohamed Naim Kurniawan Mokhtar was also declared the winner in the Kinabatangan parliamentary seat
00:37after securing 19,852 votes, while his opponent Datuk Sadi Abdurrahman of Barisan, who garnered
00:455,638 votes. Independent candidate Goldam Hamid only managed to secure 946 votes. The by-elections
00:55were held following the death of the incumbent MP and Assemblyman Datuk Seribung Mokhtar Radin
01:02on December 5 last year.
