00:00So Anulet, this is the location of the new Framework Project.
00:08It is.
00:08Okay, how did this come about? Why here?
00:11So we were talking to a local community bank in Portland about how they wanted to redevelop their site.
00:16And we started to think about their values as a company.
00:19And so right around that time, we had found out that the USDA and some of the Softwood Lumber Council and others came out with a competition.
00:29It was called the Tallwood Building Competition.
00:31And you won.
00:33We did. We did.
00:34The building will be the bank's new headquarters, but will also provide stores, housing, office, and community space.
00:44But before Framework can break ground, the team must prove the building will be safe.
00:53The first concern is fire.
00:55We all think of wood as flammable, but CLT actually remains structurally sound when exposed to fire.
01:02This is because the outer surface becomes a char layer that keeps the inner layers from burning.
01:07Here's from burning.
01:08Here's from burning.
