00:53Under the theme, Education Reimagine, co-creating the transformative future of Southeast Asian learning,
01:00the occasion underscores more than five decades of Cimeo's Inotech's role focused on advancing education in Southeast Asia.
01:08We gather today not only to mark the 56th anniversary of Inotech,
01:14but to recognize a moment of transition, one that places education in Southeast Asia at a clear turning point.
01:22One of Inotech's programs is Inotech.
01:26We work closely with the ministries of education, the school leaders,
01:29and then hopefully we will be able to influence on how integrating new ways of teaching and also of developing the curriculum.
01:40Despite the presence of blended learning,
01:42according to Inotech Center Director and Chief Executive, Mahalaya Ravago,
01:47increasing the number of classrooms remain important for students, especially in basic education.
01:53What is being pushed is really the bridging the gap in terms of the number of classrooms.
01:59Because how can we address yung mga reading proficiency, mathematics,
02:03if the children are not in school, the learners are not in school.
02:07One of the areas being studied by Cimeo Inotech is the integration of artificial intelligence, or AI, into curriculum.
02:15The University of the Philippines is already developing student-centered AI classrooms and training AI professionals.
02:22The university is also partnering to teach modern teaching methods to educators aligned with present-day demands and technology.
02:30Collaborate with other SUCs to improve not just curriculum at the basic education level, but teaching competence.
02:40Key na siya ngayon eh.
02:41And second, I don't want to produce more teachers.
02:44What I want to produce are more teachers of teachers.
02:49UP is implementing the Gurong Pahinugot Program,
02:52where teachers are deployed and stay in remote areas for one year to teach basic education.
02:57The Konektadong Pinoy Act is also seen as a major step towards more inclusive internet access in far-flung areas,
03:05crucial in narrowing the country's digital divide, especially for students in remote communities.
