00:00Excellencies, distinguished friends, in addition to requiring peace and stability, growth requires statecraft and capital, in particular the efficient allocation and re-allocation of capital.
00:19That is why, last February, we established our sovereign wealth fund, Danantara Indonesia.
00:34Danantara means the energy to power the future of Indonesia.
00:41Danantara is a sovereign wealth fund with one trillion U.S. dollars in assets under management.
00:51With Danantara, I can stand here in front of you as an equal partner.
01:00Indonesia is now not only a land of peace and stability.
01:06Indonesia now is more and more the land of opportunity.
01:13Once again, I mentioned that I am convinced that our growth, the growth of our economy, will be significantly surprising to many in the world.
01:27With Danantara, Indonesia is now able to be your partners.
01:36We will co-invest and grow with you.
01:41Danantara is established to finance and co-finance the industries of the future.
01:49We are determined to industrialize our country in a significant way.
01:58The industries of the future must be executed well and wisely.
02:04That is why we built Danantara with strong oversight and institutional responsibility.
02:15And we try to find the best executives to direct the leadership of Danantara.
02:25Danantara now manages 1,044 state-owned enterprises.
02:35We are going to bring this down to around at most 300.
02:43We will rationalize, we will get rid of inefficiency, we want the best governance and the best management under international standards.
02:59I have allowed Danantara to recruit expatriates, foreign citizens, to be able to lead these companies.
03:11We want the best brains and the best minds in the world.
03:16This is in fact how we run Indonesia now.
03:21From our social programs, to our efforts to downstream our natural resources, to our efforts to reach self-sufficiency in food and energy.
03:33All are now accompanied by strong oversight and capable leaders.
03:38In the first two months of my administration, we carried out a vigorous efficiency program.
03:48We saved $18 billion by stopping inefficient and dubious programs from our budget.
03:56And redirected these funds to projects that directly improve livelihoods and impact all of society.
04:09As a result, on January 6, 2025, we started our free nutritious meals program for pregnant and lactating mothers
04:25In the first two years, infants, and all Indonesian children.
04:29On our first day, we started with 190 kitchens, serving 570,000 people per day.
04:45570,000 meals per day.
04:47Today, in one year, we have achieved 21,102 kitchens, serving nationwide.
04:59As of last night, we are producing 59.8 million meals
05:11For 59.8 million children, mothers, and elderly living alone.
05:20They receive these meals every day.
05:23To put this into context, in about a month's time, we will surpass McDonald's, 68 million meals a day.
05:37We started in January of last year.
05:48This year, we aim to serve 82.9 million meals a day.
05:56All children of Indonesia from the womb of their mother up until they reach 18 years of age benefit from this program.
06:07For pregnant and lactating mothers, we deliver the meal daily to their home.
06:14This is also done, delivered to their homes for the elderly living alone.
06:23To put this in the context I mentioned, I think McDonald's started their first kitchen in 1940.
06:36To reach 68 million, it took them 55 decades more.
06:47We will reach 82.9 million, I hope by the end of December 2026.
06:56But my people said, no sir, we will reach 82.9 million before December.
07:03So, hopefully we will achieve this.
07:08In addition to strengthening our children, our free meals strengthens our economy.
07:18More than 61,000 micro, small, and medium enterprises and corporates are now a part of this supply chain.
07:31We are creating more than 600,000 jobs just at the kitchens.
07:41At its peak, we are optimistic it will reach 1.5 million direct jobs.
07:48With vendors, with suppliers, there will be more than 1 million livelihoods embraced and improved.
08:06This is why I am convinced that our growth will reach impressive numbers.
08:13Our social policies must expand productivity and produce growth.
08:21Today, 70 million Indonesians receive free medical check-up.
08:29And they will receive free medical check-up once a year for the rest of their lives.
08:39And this will increase to all the children and the adults of Indonesia.
08:46We are providing free medical check-up to all citizens of Indonesia.
08:52This is not a populist program.
08:59This is a rational program to save money.
09:03By detecting illness, disease at an early stage, we will save much more in the long term in treatment.
09:15This actually is a productivity improvement program.
09:21My experts say that in the long run, we will save many, many billions of US dollars.
09:30Last year, for instance, we renovated 16,140 schools.
09:38We equipped 288,000 schools, each with one 75-inch interactive flat panels as part of our digitalization of our education program.
09:57Next year, in this coming year, 2026, we will add another one million of these interactive smart panels so that every school will have at least three to four classrooms with these panels.
10:20And we hope within three years, all the schools of Indonesia will have at least six classrooms with digital interactive panels.
10:33That means that I, for instance, in Jakarta, I can drop in on any school of Indonesia and I can see the quality of teaching of the teachers.
10:49I can see the reaction of the children.
10:53And in the first weeks, we see the enthusiasm of the children, the enthusiasm of the teachers, of the villagers.
11:06Many of them cry when they see the panels coming in.
11:11We get messages, Mr. President.
11:16In the entire history of this village, we have never felt that the central government knows about us.
11:25This is the first time we feel that the central government cares about us and is now in our village, is now helping to teach our children.
11:38This is, for me, heartwarming because what we are doing is we are empowering the future generation of Indonesians.
11:50We are helping others.
11:51And we are bringing those kinds of things through our lives really young people.
11:54So we have the opportunity to attract whom we have to do in the next two weeks.
11:56We are offering the future generation of Indonesians with a lot of people.
11:58We have the opportunity to bring down to our viewers.
11:59And we are allowing them to take advantage of the education and the needs of our students.
12:00We are allowing them all the time to try and focus on.
12:02We do not have the opportunity to contribute.
12:04You are overlapping with our children.
12:06We hope that they're not helping them.
12:08Like the economy, those are the fact that the older students are being able to communicate.
