00:23to recover the sum allegedly misappropriated from company funds.
00:26Najib said his earlier belief that the money came from Saudi Arabia was based on what he knew at the time
00:33but agreed that based on subsequent knowledge, the funds had nothing to do with the Saudi donation.
00:39Najib 72 has been jailed since August 23, 2022,
00:43following his conviction for misappropriating 42 million ringgit in SRC funds.
00:48He was sentenced to 12 years jail and fined 210 million ringgit.
00:52On January 29, 2024, the Federal Territory's Pardons Board halved his jail term to six years
00:59and reduced his fine to 50 million ringgit.
