00:00As Launceston gets ready to toast the Foo Fighters,
00:05local hospitality businesses are rostering extra staff to cope with an influx of fans.
00:10Everyone needs people here in Launceston. Everyone needs staff here in Launceston.
00:15So we are like, oh, we need to get someone from Hobart.
00:19So we just like grab a few from Hobart and help us on the day.
00:23The band's show on Saturday is being described as Launceston's biggest ever concert.
00:28Tasmanian band Spooky Eyes nabbed a coveted support spot.
00:32It's massive. We get the opportunity to play to a lot more people than we have before,
00:38a lot more new faces as well, people from out of state.
00:41Piper Rayner couldn't believe it when her bandmate Jude called with the news.
00:46Then he told me it was the Foo Fighters and I think I just went into shock a bit.
00:50I think I thought he was pranking me.
00:52With 25,000 people set to fill York Park for the concert,
00:56a lot of work is going on to prepare it.
00:59We will have just under 1,000 staff operating through the venue.
01:02It is a huge undertaking.
01:04If you're planning to drive to the event, it won't be easy to find a park.
01:08Both the Southern Inverest Car Park, where I am now,
01:11and the Northern Inverest Car Park will be closed.
01:13If you're willing to pay, some nearby private car parks will be open,
01:17but they've raised their prices for the event.
01:20Roads around the venue will also be closed,
01:22but the state government is putting on extra public transport.
01:26Much like the night rider services that were deployed for New Year,
01:31where people will be able to jump on a bus.
01:35There will be four different routes.
01:37A city getting ready for a night to remember.
