10:36actually couldn't tell you the next couple to take the reins of the prize house today are Michelle and
10:51Steve right we're off thank you thank you they're at a nearby market to try and prove they can cook a
11:00dinner using local produce we've come to the market because I think it'll be a bit cheaper anyway but
11:07like a good market of fresh produce yes we are we're gonna price if they've got goats cheese and things
11:12like that and produce and then if it's too expensive and we're gonna go to the supermarket we are from
11:19balance Lee dinner is a vital income source for B&B's in this area but in heat weeks the couple didn't
11:28impress one of the biggest failures for me it was the curry and I've done that for years however because
11:35it's different ingredients what we should have done it's done a local meal so that's what we're gonna
11:41do in it French dishes start at Maine and then a bit of English for the last bit my French is fluent
11:50it was the couple's inimitable hosting style that won over their guests in heat week though some
12:09judges had a few reservations about their approach Nicola did say to turn it down a little bit and I
12:17do slightly disagree Nicola because this is who I am oh look chickens oh let's have a look so
12:27don't worry and we've got our new prize home we will get the chickens I'll be running around chasing
12:32chickens for eggs and that dinner I mean come on let's get the eggs we've listened and taken the
12:39advice all on board absolutely turn it down I bought a big roll of gaffer tape
12:44is that strong no yeah go on then we're taking your word for it we've got judges tonight and if it
12:54goes wrong it's your fault anyway everyone just nothing of that in a few hours Michelle and Steve
13:03will take over the prize house and have their chance to prove there's more to them than meets the eye
13:09we're not nervous about the judges coming as a guest because you know what they're going to get to know
13:14us because they think we're this fun loving couple we are but they don't realize that like I've got a
13:20knitting business Steve's got his own business and we're very very clever people so watch this space
13:26as Michelle and Steve are keen to get going Nicole and Bret's time is coming to an end the only thing I
13:37need to ask is if there are oats in this bread they come from the market did they say what type it was
13:44was the sourdough the sourdough so it's less likely to have oats no I'll try a little bit no problem

14:26location for breakfast was very well chosen beautiful out there you know around the garden with all the
14:32birds the bees and huge improvement in service thank you so much absolutely thank you
14:41Nicole is the brains and Brett is the heart hmm and the more we can get Brett to come out of his
14:47shell I think will soften the residents are real that we have Brennan did ask that what about the
14:57bread did have oats in it but no I don't it was Walnutty there was other bread you could offered should
15:03have done that breakfast was very good in terms of their hosting skills this morning I found them a
15:10lot more at ease and even more comfortable than last night I think they were very relaxed certainly
15:15more relaxed and during the heat week I'm beginning to think how much of a team we are you know yeah but the
15:27plates were empty again yeah that's a great sign I love your cooking I still feel a nagging sense of I
15:37haven't got them I haven't plumbed their depths and I really want to I really want to see the real
15:44Nicole and the real Brad and the only chance to do that now lies entirely on the day trip
15:53bear in the prize house reality has really really sunk in Brett and I just want it you know with this

16:19couple hoping to make it their own in three hours Michelle and Steve will welcome the judges as their

16:39looking for a B&B concept that's every bit as unique as they are the USP really didn't come across in the
16:47last week still not sure what it was other than I heard the words craft writing in the heat weeks you
16:55didn't really see a lot of my crafting so I think it's time for me to shine Michelle's cleverness with
17:04crafts with felting with knitting which are making a huge comeback particularly with young people now
17:09that could be something that they could use to their advantage here this is what I'm gonna teach him to do
17:16it's got a bit squash but this is what we're gonna do so it goes like that so we're all gonna make a
17:23little one of them today we know that Michelle loves her crafts and we know that Steve's brilliant
17:30at his towel art I like to be creative and if it all helps someone to enjoy their stay this week all
17:39the rooms are pre cleaned and ready for the judges allowing the host to add finishing touches and
17:44concentrate on cooking dinner I'm gonna make me brownie what we've gone for is not complicated but
17:51it's really nice one of the weaker aspects of the stays at Michelle and Steve's where dinner they
17:57went for supermarket produce and there was issues the spice intensity so that's gonna go in and melt now
18:05easy chocolate browning in world they were obviously in a position where they were a bit stressed and they
18:10didn't know what produce they were dealing with I am chopping the onion for the main course which is
18:18gonna be mustard chicken that were another thing one it we weren't sure because it's different mustard
18:23in it but friends she's famous for mustard anyway please let's not have a disaster this time because
18:31you're gonna have four very hungry people at the table and those four hungry people might just have
18:36your future in their hands three tablespoons full of mustard it's all that one one it's gonna be like we carry that
18:48meanwhile Nicole Brett and the judges are about to set off on their paddle boarding day trip the hosts have
18:58all chosen their own day trips to show off the kind of things they could offer guests
19:03tell us about how you found this this excursion for us because we want to sort of promote that family life fans in our
19:12family-run business we just thought we'd do something that was you know an activity that you do as a family paddle boarding
19:19might be a bit extreme for some people but there's a lovely beach as well so there's loads to do
19:2530 minutes away is Lac de Vasseville right okay we all ready the wetsuits are ready the changing rooms are
19:34just inside here the women on the left the men are on the right there's cubicles in there but they got
19:38no luck on them so no going into where anyone else is a beauty spot that draws visitors from across
19:47Europe shows off the temple I know where's Nicola she's already in she's a liability Nicole thank you
20:17loved it loved every minute of it Brett's very confident you know you feel in safe hands he's got
20:30huge muscles we've seen his arms I'm up it's like going paddle boarding with Popeye we weren't here to
20:37be educated and informed we were here to have fun and we did have fun okay you're gonna try
20:47this excursion was such a great idea and I don't think I was expecting them to be so prepared for
20:58it as well they've never been here it's the first time they're actually in the region and was just
21:03really well organized their hosting skills was actually amazing the best part was they've opened
21:13up as well they were hilarious they were really funny and I feel I feel like I want 24 hours more
21:19with them yeah I was just about to say we need another day with them to see the real and that's
21:24our kind of the shame because that was the point of these last 24 hours so I mean it's not a lot of time
21:30so they know they've got to bring it and they did bring it on many many many levels I feel conflicted
21:36Nicole and Brett have done everything they can but their time in the hot seat is over and they
21:42won't see the judges until they present their business plan at the end of the week we're sad to
21:48be leaving and checking out we've had the most amazing time haven't we yeah it's been brilliant
21:52and yeah we've just put her all into 110% so we just have to leave it in the judges hands now we've
