Lorraine star rushed to hospital with fears of heart attackITV
Transcript
00:00It was a bit of a scare. It's been an eventful festive period really. I've had an unscheduled trip in a motorcycle sidecar when my car had a puncture and I had to get to somewhere urgent.
00:08But then I had this virus that's going around that everybody else seems to have had and I had a little bit of pneumonia and pericarditis, which is an inflammation of the membrane around your heart.
00:18So it was quite painful and I wasn't quite sure what it was at first, but this excellent young pair of paramedics came around, did an ECG. ECG was a bit scary, said I had a heart attack. I hadn't.
00:28But it showed that it did so.
00:31And then we analysed the trace together and diagnosed pericarditis. They were really good. A 21-year-old guy and a slightly older lady, but they were brilliant and I was blue-lighted into hospital.
00:43Gosh, that must be really weird for you. Really strange.
00:46They thought it was weird as well. This is Dr Hilary.
00:48No, I know what's going on.
00:50But the hospital were great as well, at Pembrey Hospital. They were inundated with patients, but they were calm and it all got sorted.
00:58Right, and you're OK.
00:59Yeah, absolutely.
01:00We were worried. I mean, I was very, very worried. You know, when you hear, you just hear and you get like a message saying, oh, you know, Hillary's being blue-lighted to the ambulance and all the rest of it.
01:09But I felt better after talking to you and you're OK.
01:13Absolutely.
01:14Everything's absolutely fine.
01:15Thank you very much.
