00:00We're up like we were before.
00:02We're doing numbers that nobody's ever thought possible.
00:07We're the richest we ever were.
00:09It's because of tariffs and the proper use of tariffs.
00:12And we're also the most secure.
00:14As an example, Iceland, without tariffs,
00:16they wouldn't even be talking to us about it.
00:18So we'll see what happens.
00:19I think it's going to work out quite well.
00:21Right behind.
00:23Thank you, Mr. President.
00:24How would you characterize your relationship
00:26with Emmanuel Macron and Keir Starmer right now?
00:29And have you spoken to them since your social post last year?
00:32No, I haven't.
00:33But I think I get along very well with them.
00:35I mean, they always treat me well.
00:37They get a little bit rough when they're, you know,
00:39when I'm not around.
00:40But when I'm around, they treat me very nicely.
00:43And, you know, I like both of them.
00:46They're both liberal.
00:49They've got to straighten out their countries.
00:51You can't, you know, London is having a lot of problems.
00:54And if you look at Paris, it's got a lot of problems.
00:57They have two problems, immigration and energy.
01:00They've got to stop with the windmills.
01:02And they've got to go back, like,
01:04the U.K. has an unbelievable asset called the North Sea.
01:08Norway uses it, makes a fortune.
01:11They have a better section of it, and they don't do it.
01:14They could straighten out their countries, and it would be good.
01:16But I get along very well with them.
01:18Go ahead.
01:19The Press, Mr. President, you told Norway's Prime Minister that
01:22Are you from Norway?
01:23No.
01:24You look like you would be from Norway.
01:25But she looks like she's from Norway.
01:27Go ahead.
01:28The Press, Mr. President, you told Norway's Prime Minister
01:30that you not winning the Nobel Peace Prize
01:32made you feel less obligated to think purely of peace.
01:35What would not...
01:36Well, I lost a lot of respect for Norway.
01:37And I believe, and I believe very strongly,
01:40that Norway controls the Nobel Prize.
01:42But you have to understand, I settled eight wars.
01:45I've had every one of those wars, every participant wrote.
01:49I didn't ask them to do it.
01:50They sent in strong recommend...
01:53You know, they make recommendations for that.
01:55But I settled eight wars.
01:56No President has probably ever settled one war.
01:58I don't know.
01:59Think of it.
02:00I did eight.
02:01The reason I do it is because it's easy for me to do.
02:04And I didn't do it for a Nobel Prize.
02:06I did it because I'm saving a lot of lives.
02:08I'm trying to settle the final one.
02:10I'm trying to do Russia-Ukraine.
02:12And when Russia's ready, Ukraine's not.
02:14When Ukraine's ready, Russia's not.
02:15When Ukraine's ready, Russia's not.
02:17But they're losing 25,000 people a month, on average.
02:21And I'm trying to get that one done.
02:23But, no, I feel...
02:24But I feel that Norway has tremendous control over who gets the Nobel Prize,
02:28despite what they say.
02:29The President.
02:30How far are you willing to go to acquire green?
02:33You'll find out.
02:35Thank you, Mr. President.
02:36Kevin Hassett has said that those $2,000 tariff rebate checks would be up to Congress
02:46to decide whether or not to disperse that.
02:48Do you agree with Kevin Hassett on that?
02:50Or do you think you can do that unilaterally?
02:52I don't think we would have to go the Congress out.
02:55But, you know, we'll find out.
02:56The reason we're even talking about it is that we have so much money coming in from tariffs
03:01that we'll be able to issue at least a $2,000 dividend and also pay down debt for the country.
03:07But we'd do a $2,000 dividend to the people of our country.
03:11It would probably set a limit of, you know, income limit where it made sense.
03:16But we will be able to make a very substantial dividend to the people of our country.
03:21I believe we can do that without Congress.
03:28Last night on Truth Social, you said that the British plan to hand the base of Diego Garcia over to Mauritius
03:33and then rent it back was an act of great stupidity.
03:36Previously, you backed that bill.
03:38Is it now your position that the deal should not go ahead?
03:41I think that they, you know, when they originally were going to do it,
03:44they were talking about doing some concept of ownership.
03:47But now they're looking to essentially just do a lease and sell it.
03:51And I'm against that.
03:52You know, it's a reasonably nothing like Greenland,
03:56but it's a reasonably important area of the globe.
03:59Not to anywhere near Greenland, but I think they should keep it.
04:04I don't know why they're doing it.
04:05Do they need money?
04:07Mr. President, with your support to the Syrian government,
04:11most probably you avoided another civil war and a bloodshed in Syria,
04:17especially after the fall of the regime.
04:18I did a good job.
04:19I did a good job.
04:20The Syrian government, the last two weeks,
04:24had to use some force to implement its force on specific areas.
04:30And with your —
04:31Mr. Well, to keep the prisoners — the terrorist prisoners,
04:34which are some of the worst in the world at bay.
04:36So they were able to keep that.
04:39He's working very hard, the President of Syria.
04:42He's working very, very hard.
04:44Strong guy.
04:45Tough guy.
04:46Pretty rough resume.
04:48But you're not going to put a choir boy in there and,
04:51you know, get the job done.
04:53I spoke with him yesterday because we were talking about the prisons
04:56and, you know, what was going on.
04:57We have some of the worst terrorists in the world in those prisons,
05:00and he's watching them.
05:01The Press Press on Syria, sir.
05:03Go ahead.
05:04The Press Press, Mr. President, Gavin Newsom is going to be at Davos.
05:07If he's not already there, you're probably going to run into him.
05:10I presume that this is for him to raise his platform for 2028.
05:13But what do you anticipate his foreign policy platform is going to be?
05:16I don't know.
05:17I mean, I don't know that he's going to be the nominee.
05:19I know this.
05:20I had a very good relationship with Gavin Newsom when we were,
05:24you know, in office together.
05:26I was President.
05:27He was the Governor of California.
05:29We had a really — he would talk about it often.
05:31And somewhere, we just went astray.
05:33I just — I just hate the way California is being run.
05:37We actually have people leaving.
05:39It's never happened before.
05:41But I hate the way it's being run.
05:42He and I had a very good relationship.
05:44Really close to the word exceptional.
05:48But now, we seem not to.
05:50Thank you, President Trump.
05:54You spoke earlier —
05:55I'm Greenland.
05:56I'm Greenland, Mr. President.
05:57You've been hearing from allies.
05:59Thank you so much, President Trump.
06:00Kara Castanova from Lindell TV.
06:02And you spoke earlier about the 2020 election.
06:04Now that Maduro is in U.S. custody and he was criminally charged,
06:09has any more information emerged that you could share with us
06:12regarding Venezuelan election software
06:14and Venezuelan ties to tampering with the 2020 election?
06:17And would you consider speaking to Maduro personally in prison in New York
06:22to get some answers on Venezuela's involvement with the 2020 election?
06:25No, I don't think I would be doing that.
06:27I think my lawyers would be very unhappy if I did that.
06:31Yeah, they've learned — they've learned some things.
06:33Please.
06:34What happens to the tariff threat to Greenland
06:36if the Supreme Court comes out and rules against you on the tariffs?
06:40And —
06:41Well, I'll have to use something else.
06:42I mean, look —
06:43Are you willing to use force?
06:44You know, take a look at the word license.
06:45Take a look at other things.
06:46I mean, we have other alternatives.
06:48But the — what we're doing now is the best, the strongest, the fastest,
06:52the easiest, the least complicated.
06:54Sir, if you move ahead with the Greenland-related tariffs on Europe,
07:01you secured almost a trillion dollars of commitments from them
07:04to invest in the United States.
07:06Does that go kaput out the window if that happens?
07:09I doubt it.
07:10Look, they want to — they need that agreement very badly with us.
07:13They really do.
07:14They fought very hard to get it.
07:16So I doubt that.
07:17But we'll see what happens.
07:18We have a lot of meetings scheduled on Greenland.
07:21I'm leaving tonight, as you know, Davos.
07:23And we have a lot of meetings scheduled on Greenland.
07:27And I think things are going to work out pretty well, actually.
07:30Thank you, Mr. President.
07:32Could you still go to Paris for the G7 emergency meeting, as offered by President Macron?
07:41No, I wouldn't do that.
07:42Because, you know, Emmanuel — Emmanuel is not going to be there very long.
07:49And, you know, there's no longevity there.
07:53He's a friend of mine.
07:54He's a nice guy.
07:55I like Macron.
07:56But he's not — he's not going to be there very much longer, as you know.
08:00And I think — you know, I have meetings with the people that are directly involved,
08:04not some of the people you're talking about.
08:08Thank you, Mr. President.
08:09Thank you so much.
08:10Thank you so much, Mr. President.
08:11Happy new year.
08:12You know, I've never seen this room like this.
08:16Is this a celebration of the first year?
08:19Yes.
08:20Have you ever seen it?
08:21I've never seen this many.
08:23I hope we have a very good — I hope we have a very good structural floor.
08:27You know, this used to be a swimming pool.
08:29You're sitting over a swimming pool.
08:31I could see that happen.
08:32Yeah.
08:33But this — we need a good structure here, don't we, huh?
08:36Yeah.
08:37Mr. President.
08:38Thank you so much, Mr. President.
08:39Happy one-year anniversary.
08:41And my question is, sorry — on Syria.
08:43The Kurds, as the most loyal U.S. partners facing attacks by some Syrian elements within
08:48the Syrian government, will you do to ensure the Kurdish rights protected on their effective
08:53forces against terrorism in Rojava, Syria, continue as the Kurdish see you as a president
08:58does not abandon his allies?
09:00Well, I like the Kurds.
09:01But just so you understand, the Kurds were paid tremendous amounts of money, were given
09:05oil and other things, so they were doing it for themselves more so than they were doing
09:10for us.
09:11But we got along with the Kurds, and we are trying to protect the Kurds.
09:14That's correct.
09:15Ahead of your speech in Davos, can you give us a preview of what we can expect as far as,
09:20you know, laying out the plans for Americans to be able to buy homes?
09:23I think more than anything else, what I'm going to be speaking about is the tremendous
09:26success that we've had in one year.
09:28I didn't think we could do it this fast.
09:31Think of it.
09:32It's just now 12 months.
09:33And, you know, I say it often.
09:35We have the most successful country in the world.
09:37We have the hottest country anywhere in the world by far.
09:40And this country would have been absolutely stone-cold dead.
09:43And I'm going to be talking about it.
09:46I'm going to be because, you know, a lot of them could use some of the advice as to what
09:50we did.
09:51They need energy.
09:52You take a look at their energy policy.
09:54They're going to destroy themselves with what they're doing with the windmills and all
09:58the nonsense.
09:59They need energy help badly or they're going to be in big trouble.
10:04And they need immigration help badly.
10:07How much longer do you want to go?
10:09Yes, sir.
10:10I'll call it.
10:11I do.
10:12I have a very important call with President Erdogan, who I like a lot.
10:23All right.
10:24One or two more questions.
10:25Go ahead.
10:26Thank you, Mr. President.
10:27Thank you, Mr. President.
10:28During your second-
10:29Go ahead, please.
10:30Go ahead.
10:31Thank you, Mr. President.
10:32The red blouse.
10:33Go ahead.
10:34You talked a lot at the beginning of this about the economy, some positive economic indicators.
10:35Polling shows a majority of Americans don't feel the economy is doing well.
10:48Are you worried you're making the same mistake as President Biden?
10:51No, no.
10:52I hope I don't make the same mistake as him.
10:54Look, I inherited a terrible — I mean, it's a great question, because we inherited
10:59a terrible, terrible mess between the border, between all the problems.
11:04The whole country was falling apart.
11:06And in 12 months — less than 12 months — I mean, in 12 months, we have the strongest border
11:11we've ever had.
11:12We have prices that are much, much lower than they were for the last — we inherited very
11:17high prices.
11:18We inherited — remember this — inflation was at a historic high.
11:23We had never had inflation like that.
11:25They say 48 years.
11:26But whether it's 48 years or ever, we had the highest inflation, in my opinion, that we've
11:32ever had.
11:33Prices, because of that, were very high.
11:35I inherited — we brought down eggs immediately.
11:38Remember the first news conference, they were screaming at me about eggs.
11:41I was in the position for two days, and they're — we brought eggs down to lower than what
11:47they were before.
11:48And by the way, they continue that way.
11:50We brought the prices down from when I came into office, and from what Biden had, way down.
11:55We're gonna bring them down further.
