U.S. President Donald Trump has announced the creation of a new international body known as the “Board of Peace,” aimed at shaping Gaza’s future following months of war.

According to the White House, the Trump-led board will guide reconstruction, governance and long-term development as a ceasefire holds in the territory. Several countries across the Middle East, Europe, Asia and the Americas have confirmed receiving invitations.

The initiative includes newly formed governance bodies for Gaza and high-profile political and economic figures, though questions remain over how the plan will operate alongside the United Nations and regional stakeholders.

00:00World leaders from several regions have been invited to join what US President Donald Trump
00:11is calling a new Board of Peace. An initiative, the White House says, is designed to help shape
00:17the future of Gaza after months of war. The board, chaired by Trump himself, could later expand its
00:24focus beyond Gaza to broader questions of global stability. The announcement comes as a fragile
00:32ceasefire has been in place in Gaza since October 2025, following prolonged fighting that left large
00:39parts of the territory destroyed. The Trump administration says the new structure is meant
00:43to guide reconstruction, governance and long-term development during a sensitive transition period.
00:49According to the White House, the Board of Peace is part of a wider US-backed roadmap that includes
00:57several newly formed bodies focused specifically on Gaza. Among them is the National Committee for
01:04the Administration of Gaza, or NCAG, which will oversee governance as the territory moves from
01:09conflict towards stabilisation. The NCAG will be led by Ali Shath, a former deputy minister in the
01:17Palestinian Authority. A separate Gaza executive board will support the committee, focusing on
01:22rebuilding infrastructure, restoring services and helping establish what the US describes as
01:28effective governance on the ground. A number of countries have publicly confirmed receiving
01:34invitations to join the Board of Peace. They include Jordan, Egypt, Turkey, Pakistan, Greece, Hungary,
01:42Cyprus, Albania, Argentina, Paraguay, India and Italy, reflecting a mix of regional stakeholders and
01:49U.S. partners across Europe, the Middle East and beyond.
01:52I can say with certainty that it is the greatest and most prestigious board ever assembled at any time,
02:00any place.
02:01Alongside national representatives, the White House has announced a founding executive board made up of
02:10political and economic figures. Those include the U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio, former British
02:17Prime Minister Tony Blair, World Bank President Ajay Banga and Trump's Middle East envoy Steve Witkoff.
02:24Also named are Jared Kushner, billionaire Mark Rowan and U.S. National Security Advisor Robert Gabriel.
02:31Several of these figures will also sit on the Gaza executive board, alongside senior officials from Turkey,
02:37Qatar, Egypt and the United Arab Emirates, underscoring the international scope of the effort.
02:45Despite the scale of the initiative, major questions remain, including how the Board of Peace would operate
02:51alongside the United Nations, which endorsed the concept only through 2027 and specifically for Gaza.
02:58Israel has also voiced concern, saying it was not consulted on the plan and that the board runs counter to its policy.
03:05The White House says more members are expected to be announced in the coming weeks,
03:11as Washington seeks broader international backing.
03:14For now, the Board of Peace represents a new and ambitious attempt by the Trump administration
03:20to position itself at the center of Gaza's post-war future, with implications that could extend far beyond the region.
03:27The Right House is given to the
03:45Board of Peace represents a new and small population.
