Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney addressed growing scrutiny after confirming that Canada agreed in principle to U.S. President Donald Trump’s invitation to join his proposed Board of Peace, starting with the Gaza conflict. Speaking to reporters, Carney said the decision was driven by the worsening humanitarian situation in Gaza, while stressing that key details such as structure, financing and impact are still under discussion. His remarks come amid concerns from diplomats that the initiative could sideline existing international mechanisms, including the United Nations.
