00:50Hello and welcome to From the South. I'm Alejandra Garcia from Telesur Studios in Havana, Cuba.
00:58We'll begin with the news.
01:00In Cuba, people gathered at the Anti-Imperial Tribune located in front of the U.S. Embassy in Havana to honor the 32 combatants killed by US military forces in the attack perpetrator against Venezuela on January 3rd.
01:24At the ceremony, Cuban President Emil Díaz Canel highlighted the courage of the combatants in their mission to protect Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro and First Lady Celia Flores from imperialist forces.
01:38In this context, with banners and slogans, the Cuban people reaffirmed their commitment to defending the sovereignty of Latin American countries and the Cuban Revolution, as well as their solidarity with the brotherly people of Venezuela.
01:52In addition, Cubans demanded the U.S. government immediately release President Nicolás Maduro and his wife.
01:59And in this scenario, the President of Cuba, Miguel DĂaz Canel, denounced the historical imperialist and interfering actions of the United States perpetrated against the precepts of international law.
02:15The promoters of the attack and kidnapping of President Maduro and his wife appealed to the methods of fascism, defamation against the Bolivarian leaders, even before launching cowardly against Venezuela.
02:38Leaving behind all the limits of international law that up until that day guaranteed a minimal coexistence, the administration of the United States has opened a barbaric era, a fascist era, without caring about what that can mean in terms of destruction and death.
03:05The current emperor in the White House and his secretary of state have not stopped threatening us.
03:12I don't think that more pressure can be exercised.
03:19More pressure can be exercised.
03:24And the extreme levels to which the blockade has been increased.
03:28To come here and destroy the place, that is what their imperial conception trying to subjugate us to.
03:40And this phrase has brought outrage to the people of Cuba.
03:51And this can only be understood in a country that has never promoted hate.
03:55And from the Anti-Imperialist Tribune, the Cuban head of state highlighted the courage of the 32 combatants killed in the defense of the sovereignty of our America.
04:08Today we have 32 more faces, 32 more faces, 32 more stories for that legacy and that idea of MartĂ that the homeland is humanity.
04:25They did not just defended the sovereignty of Venezuela and the integrity of President Nicolás Maduro and Celia Flores, but also the peace, the honor of Cuba and our America.
04:41They were the sword of our peoples in the face of the advance of fascism.
04:48And they will be forever a symbol, a testament that there is no small people if their dignity is so firm.
04:57Thank you for the courage. Thank you for the example.
05:01Here we have not one, but millions of those who will continue the deeds of Fidel and RaĂşl and that generation.
05:12They would have to kidnap millions or disappear us from the map.
05:17And even then, the ghost of this small island nation will continue to run through the world
05:27because they will not be able to subjugate it. No, Mr. Imperialists, we will not subjugate ourselves and we do not like to be threatened. That is what Fidel said.
05:45Also in this context, in the Cuban province of HolguĂn, citizens took to the streets to honor the 32 Cuban soldiers killed during the assault committed by the United States in Venezuela.
05:54Thousands of HolguĂn residents gathered to pay posthumous homage to the fallen heroes,
06:00prizing the soldiers' courage in defending the sovereignty and integrity of Venezuela
06:05and the presidential couple in the face of aggressions from the United States.
06:10At the town hall in front of the Calixto-Garcia Central Park, citizens gathered not only to pay tribute to the combatants,
06:17but also to honor the commitment to internationalism that defines Cubans.
06:22And now we have a short break coming up, but first remember you can join us on TikTok at Telesuri English,

06:40Welcome back to From the South and we go to Venezuela, the network of tourists for the release of President Nicolas Maduro and his wife Celia Flores met in Caracas.

06:52During the meeting, Venezuelan foreign minister Iban Hill stated that there was no valid argument for the kidnapping of the president and his wife.
06:59Welcome back to From the South and we go to Venezuela, the network of tourists for the release of President Nicolas Maduro and his wife Celia Flores met in Caracas to discuss issues related to the demand for the release of the leaders who were kidnapped by the United States regime.
07:14During the meeting, Venezuelan foreign minister Iban Hill stated that there was no valid argument for the kidnapping of the president and his wife, which violated international law and the charter of the United Nations.
07:26He also stressed the need to determine the course of international relations in order to preserve sovereign equality among states.
07:34Meanwhile, Hill emphasized that the use of wars against Venezuela jeopardizes the political stability of the planet.
07:44We have always said that the threat against Venezuela, the use of force against Venezuela, was not an issue exclusive to Venezuela.
07:56It is an issue that concerns all states in the world, the entire international community, because what is at stake is, precisely, the stability of the planet.
08:12And that is where the importance of the support and the doctrine that we can build here today, with all these brilliant minds, which are gathered in this room today, precisely, not only to raise our voices,
08:32but also to give the world a lesson in the legal, political, and diplomatic elements that prove us right.
08:44And that it is not only for our security, which it is, that it is not only for our stability, which it is, that it is not only for our right to be a sovereign republic, which it also is, but that we have an even greater task, which is to preserve the order that guarantees international peace and stability.
09:09The head of the Venezuelan foreign foreign foreign international peace and stability government.
09:14Anonymous foreign foreign expert.
09:20The head of the Venezuelan foreign minister, Ivan Hill emphasized that the entire Venezuelan people must fight a diplomatic battle for peace.
09:23Following the historical example of deliverer SimĂłn Bolivar.
09:24Once again, this task falls to us, just as it did to Bolivar in his day when, with Republican values, independence, and truth, he was able to defeat great empires in the 19th century.
09:47Well, sons and daughters of Bolivar, it is up to us to fight this battle.
09:57We are up to the task, through the power of words, I repeat, through dialogue and diplomacy, it is a task that all of humanity, I am sure, will thank us for.
10:17It is a task in which President Nicolás Maduro Moros and the First Lady, his wife, Celia Flores, have become symbols and will be the main flag bearers of stability and world peace.
10:34Venezuela's Attorney General Tarek William Saab urged global feminism to speak out in support of Acting President Delce Rodriguez and in defense of First Lady Celia Flores.
10:44It is also time to pay a strong tribute to the Acting President, Dr. Delce Rodriguez, a follower and companion, almost a soulmate, of our sister, Celia Flores, for the courageous, heroic, unique, and exceptional work she is doing.
11:07Feminism in the world must rise up.
11:09Stand up to defend Venezuelan women, to demand freedom for Celia Flores.
11:20In another part of his speech, William Saab affirmed that Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro and First Combatant Celia Flores had already become,
11:25a symbol of heroism across the world and a living representation of all the people's struggle for it.
11:32In another part of his speech, William Saab affirmed that Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro and First Combatant Celia Flores had already become a symbol of heroism across the world and a living representation of all the people's struggle for it.
11:43Today, Nicolás Maduro and Celia Flores, believe me, symbolize heroism at a global scale throughout the world.
11:50They are the living representation of all the world.
11:57They are the living representation of all the world's struggles, the struggles of the people who face oppression and who fight for their independence.
12:05It's something incredible. Even with their dirty wars, they will not be able to do anything about it.
12:24And we stay in Venezuela, where farmer organizations mobilized from the interior of the country to the capital, Caracas, to demand the release of President Nicolás Maduro and First Lady Celia Flores.
12:39The farmers march with dignity under the slogan, Produced to Win, and carrying banners and flags representing the country.
12:46The demonstrators ratified their commitment with the country in the production of food and in the defense of national sovereignty.
12:54Producers asserted that the countryside is the battlefront for guaranteeing stability in the face of the U.S. siege.
13:06And on Friday, Venezuela honored military and non-military personnel who participated in defending the country against the attacks perpetrated by the United States on January 3.
13:15Defense Minister Vladimir Padrino LĂłpez led the presentation of awards to the personnel in a ceremony where he expressed his admiration for the men and women of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces whose struggle he defined as a just and humane cause.
13:31In this context, Padrino denounced the violation of national sovereignty represented by the U.S. attacks and demanded the immediate release of kidnapped President Nicolás Maduro and First Lady Celia Flores.
13:44Venezuela was meant to be humiliated, but it was not. Venezuela was intended to be attacked in its spirituality and its Venezuelan identity, but it was not.
13:59Venezuela has been intended to be humiliated and attacked in its honor and dignity, but it has not been.
14:09Venezuela has been attacked and the legitimate president of this republic, of this state, of this nation, President Nicolás Maduro Moros, who is our commander-in-chief, has been kidnapped.
14:28A military objective has been achieved, but the homeland remains standing. Let each person draw their own conclusions.
14:43Minister Padrino LĂłpez also pointed out that the men and women of Venezuela fight for just causes with humanity.
14:50We don't fight to destroy, to end, to defile, to murder a human being, to humiliate a human being. No. We fight for higher causes, just causes, human causes.
15:11And we know well what our higher cause is. And we know well what our higher cause is.
15:23And on Thursday, Nicaragua's co-presidents Daniel Ortega and Rosario Murillo led the 28th graduation of police cadets in honor of the guerrilla poet Leonel Rugama, where they condemned the kidnapping of President Nicolás Maduro and First Lady Celia Flores.
15:39In this scenario, co-presidents Daniel Ortega congratulated the families of the 39 graduated police officers and called for peace among all nations.
15:48In this regard, the Nicaraguan head of state rejected the U.S. military attack against Venezuela and demanded the release of the Venezuelan presidential couple.
15:57During the event, Ortega described this U.S. aggression as an act of terrorism and denounced that its main objective is to seize Venezuelan oil.
16:09In this sense, Nicaragua's co-presidents Daniel Ortega described the U.S. attempts to kidnap Venezuelan president Nicolás Maduro and First Lady Celia Flores as an act of terrorism.
16:24That invasion of the sister Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, 300 aircraft flying over.
16:35150 helicopters, the weapons they had there on the warships.
16:50Imagine exposing themselves to death to capture President Nicolás Maduro.
17:11Who has given them that power?
17:24What organization in the world would endorse an act of terrorism like that?
17:29And there he is, imprisoned in the United States.
17:42Similarly, Nicaraguan co-president Daniel Ortega denounced the blockade policy that the United States has maintained against Cuba for more than six decades.
17:54Then threatening Cuba, Cuba that has had worldwide support, every time the United Nations has held votes.
18:09Year after year, who voted to maintain the blockade against Cuba, and who voted to lift the blockade against Cuba?
18:21A blockade that has been maintained by the United States of America, not by the American people, but by the American government.
18:46In every vote, in every vote, all countries voted to lift the blockade.
18:57There are the United Nations votes, year after year, who voted against lifting the blockade.
19:11The delegate from the United States, the delegate from Israel, two countries, three countries at most voting in favor of the blockade.

21:57In this context, Minnesota Governor Tim Wolves spoke out about these new attacks, condemning the measures promoted by Donald Trump and calling for peaceful protest.
22:07This aggression occurs in the context of Donald Trump's recent threat to invoke the Insurrection Act,
22:14which grants the President the power to deploy military forces in the country.
22:18Let's talk about Palestine, where the second phase of the ceasefire in the Gaza Strip had begun,
22:46with more violations by the occupation forces after bombings that caused dozens of deaths and injuries in the last 24 hours.
22:55Palestinian authorities asserted that for 98 consecutive days, Israel has violated the ceasefire throughout the Gaza Strip.
23:03They also denounced the advance of Tel Aviv's expansionist plans and demolition of residential buildings in the north of the enclave.
23:12Since October 11, 2025, with a ceasefire in place, Israel has killed more than 451 Palestinians and injured more than 1,251,
