00:00Well, yeah, it was a complicated stage, but I'm totally honest, I thought my Dakar was over.
00:06I thought today I was going to be out.
00:08I looked down at kilometer 100, and my boot is completely covered in oil.
00:12The whole back of the bike is covered in oil, and there's no oil left in this engine.
00:16And so I'm very, very surprised that I even made it here to the finish line.
00:20It's honestly a miracle.
00:22So once I noticed that, I know I still had 200 kilometers left to go with no oil in the bike.
00:29And so I just tried not to use the clutch, tried to keep the engine as cool as possible.
00:33The rear brakes are soaked in oil, so I didn't have any brakes either.
00:37So, man, this Dakar is crazy.
00:41Yeah, some difficult challenges, some adversity for sure to overcome.
00:45But by some miracle, I made it to the finish line with that tire, and now with an engine without of oil.
00:52So, yeah, I'm happy to have made it here.
00:56But it's disappointing to lose so much time.
01:01I mean, you know, I'm not in the hunt for the win either.
01:04So, honestly, the job now is to just, you know, make sure a Honda stays on the top step.
01:08But, yeah, I wish I could have been, you know, opening with the guys the whole day.
01:13But, you know, I needed to manage this bike and get it into the finish.
01:15Until the last stage, Dakar is complicated.
01:18Yeah, it's not over until it's over.
01:21You know, even the last day, even though it's short, I learned this when I was fighting for the win.
01:28The last day was all the short 100 kilometers, and the win came down to this day.
01:32So, yeah, it's not over until it's over.
