00:03The White House claims the 3,000 ICE officers who have descended on the city are there to

00:08crack down on illegal immigration and fraud.

00:11But local and state officials say the real purpose is to spread fear.

00:15Armed, masked, undertrained ICE agents are going door-to-door, ordering people to point

00:22out where their neighbors of color live.

00:25They're pulling over people indiscriminately.

00:28On Thursday, Donald Trump took to social media, raising the temperature further, saying he

00:32was considering invoking the Insurrection Act, a rarely-used law enabling him to deploy the

00:38U.S. military on American soil, prompting accusations from Democrats that Trump planned to militarize

00:44Democratic cities ahead of the midterm elections.

00:47The White House press secretary was asked what might cause Trump to invoke the law.

00:51Look, that's only a question, frankly, Reagan, the president can answer.

00:56But the Insurrection Act is a tool at the president's disposal.

00:59Fueling the protests, last week's fatal shooting of Renee Nicole Good by an ICE officer, followed

01:04on Wednesday by an officer shooting and injuring a man said to be in the U.S. illegally and accused

01:09of resisting arrest.

01:12Videos posted online like this one showing ICE agents dragging a disabled woman out of her

01:17car on Tuesday, just a few blocks from where Renee Good was killed, have put the spotlight

01:23on the heavy-handed tactics being employed by ICE.

01:26They dragged out of a car a person with disability who was going to the doctor and harassed her.

01:32The president is acting in a lawless way.

01:34He's got an ICE agency acting as his private police.

01:37Despite President Trump's suggestion that attacks on federal agents could be a rationale for

01:42invoking the Insurrection Act, as of yet, no federal charges have been filed alleging that

01:47officers have been attacked or assaulted in Minnesota this week.
