A rightwing Dutch activist and political commentator has been barred from entering the United Kingdom. Eva Vlaardingerbroek says her electronic travel authorisation was revoked after she criticised Prime Minister Keir Starmer over migration, free speech, and social media regulation.

The UK government has confirmed the decision but has not provided a detailed reason, citing public interest concerns. The move has sparked reactions from across Europe and beyond, including comments from Hungary and Russia, while raising renewed debate over free speech, immigration, and political dissent in the UK.

00:00When I look at the sea of flags...
00:09A right-wing activist and political commentator from the Netherlands
00:12has been banned from entering the United Kingdom.
00:16Eva Vladingebroek, who has previously spoken at events
00:20alongside British far-right activist Tommy Robinson,
00:23read out the order herself on social media.
00:26In a post on X, Vladingebroek said she had received an email from the UK government
00:32informing that her right to enter the country had been withdrawn.
00:36She shared what appeared to be a screenshot of the email,
00:39which stated that her presence in the UK
00:41is not considered to be conducive to the public good.
00:45Guess not. And now the timing is quite suspicious, isn't it?
00:48Because three days ago, I posted this about Keir Starmer,
00:53calling out his hypocrisy that he wants to ban X because of women's safety,
00:58whilst at the same time he's the one who's allowing these migrant gang rapes to happen.
01:04Obviously, he's just doing that because he wants to ban free speech.
01:09A home office source later confirmed that her electronic travel authorization,
01:13known as an ETA, had been revoked.
01:16However, no specific reason for the decision was given by authorities.
01:23Vladingebroek told the Independent that she had not planned to return to the UK
01:28until after the local and devolved elections scheduled for May.
01:32She said the message from the Home Office came out of the blue,
01:36withdrawing her ETA on public interest grounds.
01:39The ban comes days after Vladingebroek posted comments on January 9th,
01:46accusing Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer of allowing what she described as
01:51the ongoing rape and killing of British girls by migrant rape gangs.
01:56The remarks were widely criticised for their language and framing.
02:00She had also publicly attacked the Prime Minister over his stance on social media platform X,
02:07after Starmer threatened action against the company following controversy surrounding its Grok AI tool.
02:14The tool was accused of generating content that sexualised women and children.
02:20On her X account, Vladingebroek linked her ban to her criticism of Starmer's position on X and Grok.
02:28She suggested that the decision was politically motivated and connected to what she described as a free speech dispute.
02:35Vladingebroek was last in the UK to speak at a large Unite the Kingdom rally led by Tommy Robinson.
02:44She later sided with Elon Musk during Musk's dispute with the UK government,
02:49after he accused British authorities of acting like fascists.
02:54The decision quickly drew international reactions.
02:57Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán, who met Vladingebroek at CPAC Hungary 2025 in Budapest,
03:04retweeted her post and wrote,
03:06You're always welcome in Hungary!
03:09Vladingebroek is a frequent visitor to Hungary,
03:13and has delivered keynote speeches at two consecutive CPAC events there,
03:17one of which was later banned from YouTube.
03:20She last visited Budapest in October,
03:23attending a book launch organised by the Centre for Fundamental Rights.
03:28During that visit, she gave interviews calling for the closure of Europe's borders,
03:33advocating for remigration policies,
03:35and praising Hungary and other Eastern European nations
03:39for resisting what she described as the consequences of unchecked migration.
03:45The controversy also drew comments from Russia.
03:49Kirill Dmitriev, a close ally of President Vladimir Putin
03:53and Russia's Special Envoy for Investment and Economic Cooperation, posted,
03:58Dear Eva, come visit Russia instead.
04:01You and your family are always welcome.
04:04We believe it is failing Keir Starmer who is not conducive to the public good.
04:10Meanwhile, the decision has triggered a political response inside the UK,
04:14Independent Member of Parliament Rupert Lowe said he has formally questioned the Home Office
04:20over the move to bar Eva Vladingebroek from entering Britain.
04:26Vladingebroek rose to prominence during the COVID-19 pandemic
04:30as a vocal critic of lockdowns and vaccines.
04:33She has since developed strong links with the MAGA movement
04:36and figures aligned with Donald Trump's political circle.
04:39Critics have described her as far-right, particularly over her rhetoric on immigration and cultural issues.
04:47Supporters, meanwhile, frame her positions as part of a broader free speech debate.
04:52that's a nice speech debate.
