00:00:00Oh, look at that!
00:00:02Absolutely phenomenal!
00:00:04Rooney!
00:00:06Welcome to Match of the Dead.
00:00:30Good evening.
00:00:50It's the start of a very busy week in the Premier League
00:00:53and it's been a great day of football.
00:00:55Five games on the way for you tonight.
00:00:57Expect comebacks, late drama and plenty of goals.
00:00:59Joe Hart and Danny Murphy have enjoyed a lively afternoon
00:01:02in the Match of the Day office.
00:01:03As usual, they've got plenty to say,
00:01:05although not to me about the Camel Jumper memo.
00:01:07Manchester City followed defeat at Newcastle last weekend
00:01:11by losing to Leverkusen at home in midweek.
00:01:13Next up was the visit of Leeds United in the bottom three
00:01:16and on a run of three straight defeats.
00:01:18Guy Mowbray was at the Etihad.
00:01:21It's fair to say that the mood amongst Leeds fans at the moment
00:01:24has most of them not expecting much here today.
00:01:28While City fans, well they could be forgiven for not knowing what to expect.
00:01:32They did think there'd be changes to the team
00:01:34and Pep Guardiola has made nine of them,
00:01:37almost fully reversing his Tuesday night decisions.
00:01:40Tijani Rinders in for Ray and Shirky.
00:01:43That's the only change from City's last three Premier League starting line-ups.
00:01:47For Leeds, five changes as James Justin, Ilya Gruev, Ayo Tanaka, Dan James and Willian Yonso come in.
00:01:54Sean Longstaff is out with a calf injury, Anton Stack due to concussion protocols.
00:01:59Goodmanson, Okafor and Brendan Aronson all dropped to the subs bench.
00:02:06If today is going to be the day of his 100th Premier League goal,
00:02:10well maybe it's just meant to be as Erling Haaland faces his first love.
00:02:14He was born in Leeds just as his dad Alfinger was about to make his own move to Manchester City.
00:02:20So two defeats in a row for City which has happened before this season.
00:02:26They won the next one 3-0 against Manchester United
00:02:29and a firm favourites to get the better of Leeds United.
00:02:35There's Mateus Nunes.
00:02:39Bernardo Silva, Nunes into the box and in behind to put it across for the first goal to be scored.
00:02:44Phil Foden gets it.
00:02:50All of Leeds United's worst fears have just happened.
00:02:54Josko Aguardiol with the ball out to Mateus Nunes.
00:02:59A few eyebrows raised with Daniel Farka's decision to leave out Gabriel Goodmansen,
00:03:03the regular left-back today, it was down his side.
00:03:07Mateus Nunes into the middle.
00:03:09Foden lifted his left leg at just the right time.
00:03:12And with 59 seconds on the clock,
00:03:15it's Manchester City 1, Leeds United 0.
00:03:18The Leeds fans will not stand on sentiment if they believe that a change would be best to give their team a chance of staying up.
00:03:26A sizeable number have been very vocally questioning whether Daniel Farka is the right man going forward.
00:03:33That's Guardiol.
00:03:36Mateus Nunes able to wait for it.
00:03:38Nonto knew he had precious little chance of winning it in the air.
00:03:42He has won it on the floor, but he has done that at the cost of a corner.
00:03:46It's Grueff who's got the job of keeping tabs on Haaland as well as Strauch.
00:03:54But it's Guardiol they should have been concerned about.
00:03:56He's headed it back to Foden.
00:03:58Oh, good save.
00:03:59I reckon that might have been going in.
00:04:02Strong hand from Lucas Perry.
00:04:05And it was going in.
00:04:09And it was going in.
00:04:13City go again.
00:04:14Lucas Perry doesn't clear it.
00:04:16And it's in for two.
00:04:19Josko Guardiol.
00:04:21And it's his first of the season.
00:04:25The problems mount.
00:04:26Well, they're not always picture book goals.
00:04:29Lucas Perry stretching.
00:04:31He might feel as though there was a little bit of being impeded by Bernardo Silva.
00:04:36But he wasn't stopped from getting anywhere near the ball.
00:04:39Guardiol with the finishing touch from, what, 20 centimetres out?
00:04:43And Padoue.
00:04:46James on the run.
00:04:49James might just have the run here on Guardiol.
00:04:52Guardiol sticks to his task.
00:04:54Here's Nyonto.
00:04:55And now it's Metcha.
00:04:58He's never really on.
00:05:00Would have had to have been pretty much perfect to score from there with that chance.
00:05:05But it was a chance of sorts for Leeds.
00:05:11And again Doku.
00:05:14And Doku across.
00:05:18It won't reach Haaland.
00:05:19It will come to Bernardo Silva.
00:05:22Bodies on the line for Leeds.
00:05:25Another one before half time and they're toast.
00:05:29Foden.
00:05:33That's Nico Gonzalez.
00:05:34And Perry keeps it out.
00:05:38Doku.
00:05:43Bernardo Silva, Haaland trying to battle through to the ball, that's Reinders, and another block.
00:05:50Anything in the way will do to keep Leeds hanging on in this game.
00:05:55City very quickly shifted their mood there from passing the ball around to becoming predatory.
00:06:01Bion, Tanaka, forward by Bogle, Mateus Nunes gives it away.
00:06:15Here's Tanaka through to Calvert-Lewin who tries to spin, and he's got the chance again, and he's taken it.
00:06:23Well, there's a Daniel Farker substitution that's worked, and very quickly,
00:06:29Leeds are back in the game, Calvert-Lewin not offside by the time the ball first came his way.
00:06:38You can see that there, looked as though the chance had gone when he spun and the ball rolled through,
00:06:44but then Mateus Nunes didn't deal with it as he should have done.
00:06:48And he touches it back to Calvert-Lewin who's switched on sufficiently to score.
00:06:52Lucas Perry trying to find Calvert-Lewin, it's going to bounce through to Bogle.
00:07:02Calvert-Lewin again, oh, was that a risk? It was a risk, but the follow-up is pulled wide.
00:07:09Leeds have got the penalty, they nearly got the goal anyway.
00:07:14Bogle's knock on.
00:07:16Calvert-Lewin against Guardiol was the next thing to happen, and look at that, nowhere near the ball.
00:07:21Peter Banks just let it run, a moment or two longer to see if Leeds can score anyway.
00:07:26They might now.
00:07:32Mecha puts the ball and himself on the spot.
00:07:37Can he score for a third game in a row and draw Leeds' level?
00:07:42Saved by Donnarumma, but it is straight back to Lucas Mecha,
00:07:46who is not missing the second chance.
00:07:50And Leeds have got a second chance in this game.
00:07:54The former match is the City hopeful.
00:07:57Leeds even more hopeful.
00:08:00They won't settle for one point.
00:08:02Not the way this half has gone.
00:08:05What happens next?
00:08:06This really could go either way.
00:08:16Foden across to Doku.
00:08:20Doku gets half a yard.
00:08:21Perry gets a hand to it.
00:08:23Oh, it's sliced.
00:08:24It's not decisive, that, from Strauch.
00:08:26But it has gone behind for a corner.
00:08:29He nearly mugged it into his own net.
00:08:31Anxious moment for Pascal Strauch.
00:08:40Foden.
00:08:44Here's Guardiola.
00:08:47Doku.
00:08:49Doku with a run at Bogle.
00:08:51Really good cross!
00:08:52Saved by Lucas Perry.
00:08:56Omar Mamouche with the header.
00:08:58Got the direction, lacked the power.
00:09:01He might not get a better chance.
00:09:07There will be at least 10 minutes added on.
00:09:10We're into the first of them.
00:09:16Foden.
00:09:19Ruben Diaz.
00:09:23Mateus Nunes getting closer.
00:09:27Cherky.
00:09:29Foden.
00:09:29Foden.
00:09:31Foden's effort!
00:09:34Foden's goal!
00:09:40Leeds' heart's broken.
00:09:44The player who started it all might have just finished it.
00:09:48We had this belief before the game, during the game, and right now even after the game.
00:10:14So, otherwise you can't come back after such a first half 2-0 and deliver such a performance and come so close, perhaps even to win it here.
00:10:21So, missing is the clinical edge up front, or perhaps the last final save or the last final tackle.
00:10:27If we can add this, then I'm 100% convinced.
00:10:30We have more than enough to win the points that we need to win the points that we need.
00:10:34You work so hard to get yourself back in a good position in the game, and I think we perhaps could have managed the game a little bit better at times, and if you know what City are like, they dominate the ball and then it's waves and waves of attack, and they've got good players that can punish you.
00:10:46But to do what we did, we can take confidence from it, but ultimately it's the points that matter.
00:10:51Today, and in every game, you need Foden to be sparkling like he did.
00:10:55Just what sort of composure does it take to find that finish when he did, in the way that he did?
00:11:01It's the first time we saw that? It's not the first time. Since they came up with us, I have done it a thousand million times.
00:11:08A thousand, thousand million times I've done it, so in that terms, he's absolutely, absolutely, I know the quality, you know, can shoot strong and is able to put the ball simply to an end.
00:11:22I've always found myself in them situations where it's very tight on the edge of the box, and I only had one thought in my head, it's just trying to get the shot off, especially them late stages, just trying to get anything on it, and yeah, thankfully when it hit the back of the net, it was, yeah, great feeling.
00:11:37Well, he got them going very quickly today, and he ended up finishing it all off, but he got them out of jail, Joe, as well.
00:11:42Yeah, he got them out of jail, but he got them out of jail with absolute quality. His first-half performance, he was absolutely purring, stepped up for Manchester City.
00:11:51Look, he'll be aware of the noise around Erling Haaland being a one-man show up front, and they're not, they're not Manchester City, but in fairness, this is the position he takes up.
00:12:01Haaland just, Leeds were adamant that Haaland wasn't scoring today, but when you do make that decision, you leave people like Phil Foden free, 12 yards out, such a brilliant cushioned finish, beautiful finish, in fact.
00:12:13Talk about that Haaland factor, Haaland factor, sorry. Strouk and Justin at the back post, they're obsessed with him. Phil Foden's an intelligent player.
00:12:23Doku, absolutely beautiful pass, very, very unlucky, but dangerous. The first-half, Manchester City, they really were purring.
00:12:31Another great example here of the Erling Haaland effect, and Phil Foden benefiting from it. All the players around him, it goes through.
00:12:38This is the perfect position for Phil Foden to be stepping onto with a player of his quality. It's actually an incredible block.
00:12:44And at this point, you thought, like, how many goals is it going to be? This is one of the best one-twos I think I've seen this season.
00:12:50He just sets himself with Guardiol. Technique, that ball's bobbling, beautiful, brilliant save, and that actually resulted in the goal.
00:12:57But this is it, in the 91st minute, 14 players in that box. Leeds defending with their lives. He's constantly checking, how can I create space?
00:13:06How can I create space? Cherky knows he's got to get it to his man. He's sat in the pocket, ready to win the game for him.
00:13:12He's managed to get himself eight yards. Strike breaks out. It's not a good first touch, actually.
00:13:16Shimmy, shimmy, and then a beautiful finish. And I'm not being funny.
00:13:19Vision, they talked about it here. I am not seeing a shot. He's facing away from goal. He's got that many bodies in front of him.
00:13:25But his composure, and then the way that he just strikes this ball through the bodies, absolutely no chance.
00:13:32Brilliant finish. Absolute match winner. Brilliant display.
00:13:36Erling Haaland, you mentioned him a lot there, but Phil Foden's touch map, pretty impressive.
00:13:41Oh, he was everywhere. And you could tell he was really enjoying today. You know, Etihad was his dance floor.
00:13:46Getting on the ball, he won't enjoy those red dots, but ultimately they're his goals.
00:13:50So he goes on in his search for his hundredth goal, Haaland.
00:13:53But today that win was vital for them in terms of keeping up with the chasing pack, with Chelsea and Arsenal playing tomorrow.
00:13:59Oh, it was a massive win, Gavin. I think by hook or by crook, the performance was secondary. The points was all that mattered after a disappointing loss at Newcastle last week.
00:14:08But to give up the chances they did last weekend and in the second half today, and a lot of mistakes actually, they're going to have to eradicate them if they want to stay with Arsenal.
00:14:16Because Daniel Farker made some great substitutions that had an immediate impact for Leeds, but actually City were the architects of their own downfall, weren't they?
00:14:23Yeah, I think City were really disappointed with how they started the second half.
00:14:26Like I say, first half, they were so dominant. They had so many chances. Donnarumma so calm in the first half.
00:14:32That's not a good decision from the big man. And immediately, he just sent the cat among the pigeons.
00:14:37I think someone like a Calvert-Lewin coming on, it does change your thinking as a centre-half and as a full-back.
00:14:42Nunes, that we all know, he's not naturally a defending player.
00:14:47But I think Leeds came out on the front foot. We talked about Farker, so he didn't have an option there.
00:14:52Not a good touch from Calvert-Lewin.
00:14:54But Nunes, he's got two other options there that can eradicate any chance for Calvert-Lewin.
00:15:00He can't believe his luck. Absolutely no problem with this.
00:15:03Difficult pass into midfield. His teammates get him out of luck.
00:15:07Now here, the Manchester City way, does he set Donnarumma or does he go old school?
00:15:11Smash it out for a throw-in and deal with it from there.
00:15:13He ends up doing nothing. Calvert-Lewin, like I say, can't believe his luck.
00:15:17Gvardiol, excellent player. There's absolutely no need for him to try.
00:15:21He's trying to get his body and turn with the ball. I don't know what he's trying to do there.
00:15:24He can just put that out for a corner. But City were rattled at this point.
00:15:28Blatant penalty and it allows Leeds back into the game.
00:15:31And a team like Leeds giving them confidence to hang on. They made it very difficult.
00:15:35Yeah, and they of course now have had four straight defeats in a row.
00:15:39The noise will start to grow. The pressure will start to grow around Daniel Farker.
00:15:42It's that time of the season, isn't it?
00:15:44It is. But the last couple of games, the level of performance has been good.
00:15:48They can take, the players are playing for him. They've been in a lot of games.
00:15:51Yeah. They've lost points late in games. I think four or five points.
00:15:55They've lost that 90 minute plus mark. And I think if the fans just are a bit more patient,
00:16:00not more patient, but stick with them a bit longer, this team are getting better.
00:16:03I know they've got some tough fixtures coming up, but they can take a lot of heart from that second half performance.
00:16:07He did comment in his post-match interviews about the timeout. It was at 2-1 when Donnarumma went down.
00:16:14Unfortunate little hamstring strain that was going on there, it would seem.
00:16:18He's saying this is not sporting. It's within the rules.
00:16:21And he feels that it was clearly, for him, an orchestrated moment that they could get together and have a huddle.
00:16:27And they did. City, all the City players came in and had a huddle at that point.
00:16:31And they stopped Leeds momentum. And he just said...
00:16:33You mean a tactical meeting?
00:16:34A tactical meeting.
00:16:35A tactical meeting that he felt, perhaps, is not in the spirit of the game.
00:16:39Well, I don't know how he's medically allowed to say that Donnarumma wasn't injured.
00:16:43He might have been feeling his hamstring, but it's not something that we haven't seen before.
00:16:47And you don't win that many Premier Leagues and that many titles without knowing the rules.
00:16:51Although he was alright when he ran to celebrate the goal like an Olympic sprinter.
00:16:55Very good physios, Dan.
00:16:57Yeah, good physios. I think they can change it really quickly.
00:16:59If a keeper goes down injured, instead of him having to go off for the minute,
00:17:02the plough of 30 seconds, wherever it is, one of the outfield players goes off,
00:17:05then it's fair all round.
00:17:06It's a little change that will make the world a difference.
00:17:08A little tweak.
00:17:09A little tweak.
00:17:10OK.
00:17:11To the stadium of light next.
00:17:13Sunderland and Bournemouth level on points and both without a win in their last three.
00:17:17Met up knowing a victory for either of them would take them into the top four.
00:17:21Commentary comes from Tom Gale.
00:17:23Sunderland's unbeaten start here at home has their fans revelling in being tagged as a tough place to go.
00:17:31Dan Ballard makes his 100th appearance for the club.
00:17:34Former Sunderland boss Sam Allardy says Granit Xhaka is the best defensive midfielder in English football.
00:17:40Format's only away victory so far came back in August at Spurs.
00:17:45Amin Adli makes just his second Premier League start.
00:17:49Antoine Semenya returns following illness and injury.
00:17:52Six goals already but hasn't scored since early October.
00:18:00Not a fixture steeped in history this one.
00:18:03Just the 11th meeting overall between these two and their fifth in the top lines.
00:18:08Semenya, can he benefit here?
00:18:17Low ball in, it's a great one!
00:18:19Oh, it's off the frame of the goal and followed up by Adli!
00:18:23Bournemouth strike first at the stadium of lights.
00:18:26And it's the man brought into the starting line-up, Amin Adli,
00:18:31who gets his first goal for the club.
00:18:34There is a bit of fortune here.
00:18:37That slip allows Semenya to bring Bournemouth forward.
00:18:42What a ball in to Eben Nielsen.
00:18:44He can't finish but on the follow-up.
00:18:47Adli's alive and he makes no mistake.
00:18:50Sunderland 0, Bournemouth 1.
00:18:53Reyn Ilda ends in the cross towards Isidore.
00:18:57The keeper did well under pressure.
00:18:59Le Fay, heavy touch.
00:19:01It will be a Sunderland corner.
00:19:12And Gisela Brice's side have just scored one goal so far from a corner.
00:19:16They go short.
00:19:17Tall lay-off from Telby.
00:19:23He's recovered well, though.
00:19:25Oh, no.
00:19:26A gifted Bournemouth possession.
00:19:29Adams goes for goal, he's spotted Brice off his line!
00:19:32What a sensational goal that is from the American.
00:19:39He doesn't score many.
00:19:41And I think he'll probably admit he might never score a better one in his career.
00:19:46Take about Tyler Adams!
00:19:49This all comes from a Sunderland corner.
00:19:54Poor lay-off from Telby.
00:19:57The American looks to his left.
00:19:59Spots the keeper off his line and thinks, I'll go for this.
00:20:02Robin Roos is scrambling back in despair.
00:20:05He's on the receiving end of a Premier League Classic goal from Tyler Adams.
00:20:11Sunderland 0 for the two.
00:20:14Sunderland 0 for the two.
00:20:19Traore squeezes it through to the fair.
00:20:23Traore trying to get in behind True Fair.
00:20:26Sunderland throw.
00:20:31That's going to be the first Sunderland long throw of the afternoon.
00:20:35To be taken by Nordi from UPL8.
00:20:41It's allowed to bounce.
00:20:42Isidore feels as though he's being held.
00:20:47Semenyo.
00:20:48Can't get away from Lefebvre.
00:20:49There's a Bournemouth player down inside the 18-yard box.
00:20:53The attack is still coming.
00:20:55Reynaldo goes down.
00:20:56He wants a penalty.
00:20:57And the referee agrees.
00:21:02Bournemouth are in disbelief.
00:21:05Referee Tim Robinson allowed himself a little bit of time to process this.
00:21:09And he deems that challenge by Alex Scott from behind.
00:21:14That's sufficient to award a spot kick.
00:21:16The VAR say that Reynaldo stepping across into the path of the ball.
00:21:22Contact from behind.
00:21:24So it is a correct decision to award Sunderland the spot kick.
00:21:28So Sunderland's second penalty of the season.
00:21:34It was Enzo Lefebvre.
00:21:36Who tucked away his spot kick against Grenford here back in August.
00:21:41He's looking to drag his team back into this match.
00:21:45Lefebvre.
00:21:46No mistake.
00:21:47Regis Lebris unnude but delight amongst those home supporters.
00:22:01Can't keep it.
00:22:02Does go the right way.
00:22:03But Bournemouth's advantage has been halved.
00:22:05Sunderland one.
00:22:06Bournemouth two.
00:22:07Traore.
00:22:12Still up by Tabernier.
00:22:15Jacquet.
00:22:17Have another go here.
00:22:19No.
00:22:20Disguise.
00:22:21Back to Jacquet.
00:22:22Crowd wanting him to shoot.
00:22:23Picks out Traore.
00:22:24Go slow!
00:22:25Inside the opening 60 seconds of the second half.
00:22:34Sunderland draw themselves level.
00:22:38And it's a first ever goal in Sunderland colours for Bertrand Traore.
00:22:45Good disguise on this to pick out Traore.
00:22:48It's tight.
00:22:50He beats the goalkeeper at the near post.
00:22:52Sunderland two.
00:22:55Bournemouth two.
00:22:57And that's certainly got the crowd up just the start they wanted from a home perspective.
00:23:03Semenya gets away.
00:23:05Goes low and it's there!
00:23:07It deflects and finds its way into the back of the net.
00:23:11But the assistance flag has been raised.
00:23:14Bournemouth's joy is short-lived.
00:23:18Semenya finds a way through.
00:23:20It comes off Alderati.
00:23:23And is that going in before Eva Nielsen gets a touch?
00:23:25Radley.
00:23:26Radley.
00:23:27Free kick Sunderland.
00:23:28Radley's not impressed.
00:23:29Radley.
00:23:30Radley.
00:23:31Radley.
00:23:32Radley.
00:23:34Free kick Sunderland.
00:23:35Radley's not impressed.
00:23:36Radley's not impressed.
00:23:37Smith goes down unchallenged.
00:23:47It will be a Sunderland corner but Adam Smith will encourage to get back to his feet.
00:23:54Rundle makes contact with the Bournemouth man.
00:23:59That's why he's gone down but back to his feet and defending a Sunderland corner.
00:24:04Lefeuille.
00:24:05Lefeuille.
00:24:06His corner.
00:24:07Robby!
00:24:08Off the bench.
00:24:09As Sunderland come from behind to lead against Bournemouth.
00:24:16Regis Lebris is giving nothing away but it's goals in back to back home games for the Dutchman.
00:24:28Lovely delivery from Lefeuille.
00:24:30Lefeuille.
00:24:31He's moving away from goal.
00:24:33The number nine is being held.
00:24:36Uses the momentum off the football to guide it away from Petrovic.
00:24:42Who saw this coming after the opening 15 minutes?
00:24:45Sunderland three.
00:24:47Bournemouth two.
00:24:49Rundle back to Sanessi.
00:24:54Brooks.
00:24:55On his left.
00:24:56Cook stands up the cross.
00:24:58Still not cleared.
00:24:59Tavenier off the ball.
00:25:02Wundle gets there.
00:25:03He's all alone though.
00:25:04Needs some help.
00:25:05Don't go.
00:25:06Don't go.
00:25:07Don't go.
00:25:08Don't go.
00:25:09Don't go.
00:25:10Don't go.
00:25:11Don't go.
00:25:12Don't go.
00:25:13Don't go.
00:25:14Don't go.
00:25:15Don't go.
00:25:16Don't go.
00:25:17Don't go.
00:25:18Don't go.
00:25:19Does really well there.
00:25:20The youngster.
00:25:23Soveno is not happy with something and he's being shown a yellow card.
00:25:28I don't think Bournemouth can actually believe the way this game has panned out.
00:25:36Kruppi.
00:25:37True fair.
00:25:42Brooks surely going to be shown a yellow card.
00:25:46Bournemouth are starting to lose the plot.
00:25:48They can't believe how this game has got away from them.
00:25:56It's a rugby tackle.
00:25:58Mufiele has been shown a yellow card.
00:26:04David Brooks shown the Bournemouth yellow card.
00:26:06I can't see why David Brooks has any complaints.
00:26:09I can't see why David Brooks has any complaints.
00:26:11It's a rugby tackle...
00:26:12I can't see why David Brooks would be showing a red card.
00:26:14There's one.
00:26:15It's a rugby Vai Escola in the World.
00:26:16It's pretty poor.
00:26:17It's a rugby call.
00:26:20It's nothing to lose.
00:26:22One, two, three, three, three, three.
00:26:25It's a rugby ball.
00:26:26The referee saw that as a Sunderland free-kick.
00:26:33Lewis Cook has been shown a red card.
00:26:38This is the reason why that forearm into Noah Siddiqui,
00:26:44violent conduct and his dismissal,
00:26:47surely ends any Bournemouth hopes of salvaging something from this afternoon.
00:26:53Sunderland 3, Bournemouth 2.
00:26:56It's very difficult to keep your head leveled.
00:27:00I think everyone supporting Bournemouth today would have not a yellow card, a red card.
00:27:04Everyone looking at the game, how the game has gone and how the referee was calling everything.
00:27:09I had one, Tommy had one, Sean had one on the bench.
00:27:12You are in the Premier League, you try to keep your level headed,
00:27:14you try to go over these things, but he's basically lost control absolutely of the game.
00:27:20I understand, it's a great stadium, atmosphere, everyone pushing, putting...
00:27:23But I don't think you can lose the control of the game like it happened today.
00:27:27This league is really demanding. You make two mistakes and you get finished very quickly.
00:27:33Coming from 2-0 down and winning this game at the end, I think it's a big achievement.
00:27:38It shows once again that this team has a strong character,
00:27:42they are never beaten, they want to fight.
00:27:48So after these two goals, I think many teams can give up, but it wasn't the case for us today.
00:27:55Yeah, and it's the first time in 177 attempts that Sunderland have come back from a two-goal deficit in the Premier League to go on and win.
00:28:04So that, if nothing else, tells you just about the fight in this team and what a game.
00:28:08Well, I got lucky today because Joe had first choice, so I got this game, but I was so pleased.
00:28:14It was incredible. Two great teams playing with energy, freedom, going toe for toe.
00:28:20Sunderland deserved credit as well for that because they went to a back four to get more men forward on the pitch.
00:28:26But one player in particular, Le Fay, for Sunderland was the main instigator in the comeback.
00:28:31He was terrific. This game could have been 4-4, 5-5, but this is at 2-0, pushing on to try and get back in the game, committing men forward.
00:28:39And as you see here, Le Fay, as you want, fighting for your team, winning tackles isn't his forte.
00:28:44He's more of a flair player. We know that. Nice and positive with his passing.
00:28:48And this is the contentious penalty.
00:28:50Reinildo gets fouled, we think, initially, and when you watch it again, it's soft.
00:28:55He puts his leg across. Scott, yes, he's a bit stupid to dive in.
00:28:59Shouldn't really give the referee a decision to make, but he's looking for it and they decide to give it.
00:29:04And once he's given it, VAR weren't going to change it.
00:29:06And then Le Fay hits a beautiful penalty under pressure to give them the impetus down, get the fans behind them.
00:29:12This is what Sunderland's about, winning the ball back, working together, hunting in packs.
00:29:17And there's your man again. Great strike. Inches away from getting his team back in.
00:29:21This is the first minute of the second half. Of course, Bournemouth are going to be disappointed.
00:29:24Traore was terrific, caused a lot of problems.
00:29:26Jacka again, the Carmen influence in there, getting them passing.
00:29:30And Le Fay as well involved. Brilliant move. 2-2.
00:29:34And then all of a sudden, the fans are up. They feel like they can win it.
00:29:38Again, it was end-to-end. Bournemouth contributed, I have to say that, to a wonderful game.
00:29:42Lovely little pass from Le Fay. He's so confident with that. He wants to take responsibility.
00:29:47Robby's there off the bench. Just missed that one, but here he is. Super sub.
00:29:51Quality of the corner from Le Fay again.
00:29:54And the header from Robby's terrific. Two winners in two weeks.
00:29:58And the stadium is just ecstatic. It was amazing to see this team that have come up,
00:30:06who nobody gave a chance, including me, now sitting in a wonderful position in the Premier League.
00:30:10And that manager deserves great pleasure. As we finish November, you know, December next week,
00:30:14they are fourth. Well, they're in the top four of the table.
00:30:18Which, you know, it just must feel like heaven to Sunderland fans.
00:30:21And that home form that we just showed you there is largely why.
00:30:24If you can make home a fortress, as they are at the moment,
00:30:28then you stand yourself in a very, very good position, don't you?
00:30:31Yeah, that's incredible what's going on today. And it was absolutely rocking.
00:30:34That's the kind of place that enjoys those wet and windy conditions.
00:30:37To go 2-0 down and still believe in what we're doing with absolute quality.
00:30:40Credit to them. They're really establishing themselves this season.
00:30:43And they're a joy to watch. The games are really, really enjoyable.
00:30:46Yeah, next time you can bagsy it.
00:30:48Okay, Newcastle, still without an away win so far this season,
00:30:54went to Everton, who won at Old Trafford in an eventful encounter on Monday night.
00:31:01David Moyes has never won at Old Trafford as the visiting manager.
00:31:07It's all kicking off within the Everton players here.
00:31:10And a red card has been shown. How ludicrous is this?
00:31:14Guesbury Hall on the half turn. He's away from Fernandes.
00:31:20And then bends it beautifully into the top corner.
00:31:25Six, he's headed out. What a save, Kingford.
00:31:28Everton have done it. David Moyes has tasted success at Old Trafford.
00:31:34Your commentator at Hill Dickinson Stadium, Steve Bauer.
00:31:38Spurs are the only team to win here at Everton's new home.
00:31:41As David Moyes' team aim for three league wins in a row,
00:31:44without the suspended Adrissa Garnaguet and injured Seamus Coleman.
00:31:48So Iribunum and O'Brien are in.
00:31:51Newcastle, who've now gone nine Premier League away games without a win,
00:31:55ring the changes, including a Premier League debut for the club in goal for Aaron Ramsdale.
00:32:00Nick Pope isn't in the squad due to injury.
00:32:03Byrne, Miley and Alanga also all-star.
00:32:06So Everton get us underway.
00:32:11Unbeaten in the last four Premier League meetings against Newcastle United.
00:32:18That's the first challenge for the returning Dan Byrne.
00:32:22It wasn't a free kick in that challenge with Barry.
00:32:25Here's Valtemar into the path of Alanga.
00:32:29He was able to get a shot in, and Jordan Pickford had to make sure by turning that round for a corner.
00:32:35Alanga here burst through, less than 30 seconds into the game.
00:32:41Early first corner.
00:32:43Into a pack of players and in!
00:32:50It's Malik Chao, with his very first Newcastle goal, just a minute into the game.
00:32:59Good leap from the German.
00:33:04Got there first and guided it past Pickford.
00:33:08Off the mark, in a Newcastle shirt.
00:33:13And that Newcastle goal after 55 seconds, the fastest of this Premier League season so far.
00:33:20Well.
00:33:25Early cross from him.
00:33:26Barnes!
00:33:30Really important challenge from Michael Keane.
00:33:33Harvey Barnes, the top scorer, bang in form.
00:33:36With a clear sight of goal, with a really good stretch from Keane.
00:33:40And that has been good to him.
00:33:41Seven points to nine so far.
00:33:42Mikhelenko to float it in.
00:33:43Tokovsky would stay forward.
00:33:44Little lay off to Michael Keane.
00:33:45Deflected!
00:33:46And deflected over.
00:33:47Oh, the two central defenders linking up well there.
00:33:48It's 48th birthday today.
00:33:49Eddie Howe.
00:33:50What a present.
00:33:51A positive result here would be, on the road.
00:33:53Malanga.
00:34:02Milanga.
00:34:03Raunmikilenko.
00:34:04Well, it shoots for Keane, but it's back now with Liebermento.
00:34:07Barnes.
00:34:09Couldn't find Voltemada, the skewed effort from Liebermento.
00:34:12Try to seek out a run.
00:34:17He's still a great hand.
00:34:181, 2.
00:34:193.
00:34:20voltamada the skewed effort from livermento miley
00:34:262-0 newcastle
00:34:30lewis miley's third premier league goal
00:34:36was initially miscued by livermento there came back to miley oh and pickford will be disappointed
00:34:44that was straight at him and that is an error but newcastle were mine
00:34:50because the team with the travel sickness nine premier league games without a win
00:34:55are now two goals to the good
00:35:03nilanga ahead of hirabunum voltamada for three nil brilliantly taken well after four premier
00:35:12league games without a goal the germans back on the score sheet and that could be a killer goal
00:35:18already at this stage and what a scoreline for the visitors too easy for a longer there
00:35:26and where was the marking with voltamada but then a very cool finish
00:35:32from the big german and this is a long way back already now for everton
00:35:37right on the stroke of half time three nil down
00:35:50jewsbury hall
00:35:53grealish against livermento
00:35:55and livermento sticking to the task in hand it's an everton corner
00:36:07garner with it
00:36:11alcaraz
00:36:11crash that against the woodwork i'll tell you something i think ramsdale produced a fantastic stop
00:36:23there to prevent it going over the line watch ramsdale here it might have even been harvey barnes
00:36:29who got to this first either way it was hugely effective before alcaraz crashed it against the woodwork it was barnes
00:36:41right on the line well just to clear this up might have struck harvey barnes's arm slightly there but tucked in in a natural position
00:36:49what a lovely ball from hall
00:36:57pigford's back scampering and he's denied barnes in the end
00:37:03because there was a split second of uncertainty there from the everton goalkeeper
00:37:07and then stood strong and denied newcastle's top scorer
00:37:11miley with it well defended by michelenko
00:37:18back in from miley burn lurking
00:37:22voltamada denied by pickford
00:37:33oh we can't keep that one out though
00:37:34four nil newcastle and two of them scored by malik ciao
00:37:45the second lowest scorers away from home in the premier league have hit four
00:37:50well initially it was nearly four here
00:37:54pigford touches it tarkovsky blocks it
00:37:57but everton knew the danger wasn't clear back in from lewis hall
00:38:04and it's another fine header from malik ciao
00:38:09his highest ever in a season is two
00:38:14level without in less than an hour here
00:38:16michelenko's cross barry waiting burn blocking barry scoring
00:38:30well it's only a consolation in terms of today
00:38:33but it's a huge moment for tiano barry who finally has his first everton goal
00:38:39now then the only problem is does he head this onto his hand before he swivels and slices it in
00:38:51the ar are checking this because of course if it does hit his hand and lead to a goal
00:38:57it will not stand and it isn't going to stand so the weight goes on
00:39:09that's a goal of the highest quality
00:39:22and everton do have one back this time
00:39:26his second in a week his third in everton blue
00:39:31what a first touch and a very cool one into the back of the net as well
00:39:35look at that first touch neverton one newcastle four
00:39:42massive win for us first away win of the season we needed it we've been chasing it and it's been
00:39:48elusive so far but that was a big moment today and a really good performance as well from the
00:39:51the players thought we looked solid i thought we looked physically really good which was a tough
00:39:56test after marseille manik very well done how good does that feel amazing amazing performance from
00:40:02from the team um yeah just happy to take the three points to me personally as well to score two goals
00:40:07amazing feeling they told me it was the fastest goal this season in the premier league um i didn't
00:40:11know but yeah i think um it put us into a good position to start the game we were beaten by a far
00:40:17better team much more experienced looking team certainly much more powerful team than we were
00:40:21got onto our back line too quickly counter-attacked us you know and you can see the experience they're
00:40:26gaining from playing the european games as well you know whether keeping keeping teams at bay a little bit and then
00:40:32the speed they've got in the front lines very good and uh i thought they'd done that to us tonight
00:40:37well newcastle united have only scored three goals away all season they score four today and get that
00:40:44elusive away win they've been looking for since april and you could see on eddie howe's face the huge
00:40:50smile what it what it meant to him and the team how did they do it danny well they did it with a really
00:40:55good start and a good team performance but i think the main reason was a wonderful performance from two
00:41:01young exciting and thankfully english fullbacks who they haven't had on the pitch enough they've only
00:41:06started together three times but they gave them a different element going forward so much more
00:41:11creativity and penetration look at livermento early in the game he's in between the lines he's
00:41:16bursting past people he's onto the everton back line it's unlucky with the past but that that was
00:41:20setting out his stall look at the position he's in iraq boonham's occupied by his midfielder
00:41:26grealish has lost him because he's expecting his fullback not to be in there great little space
00:41:31on the half turn not what you expect from most fullbacks i mean he's just so dynamic and so
00:41:37adventurous plays so free gets his team a corner and they caused a lot of problems down this right hand
00:41:43side this is the second goal i just want you to watch him as the better the play's building up
00:41:48when he's when he's here he doesn't stop keeps getting involved look at that little flick
00:41:55doesn't stop again he ends up centrally okay it's a wild shot but look at the positions he's taken
00:42:00up he's he's overloading in forward areas which everton are struggling with on the other side we
00:42:05haven't seen enough of lewis hall he's a terrific player loves to get forward gets in these areas so
00:42:10often causes problems again for everton you've got grealish and and jaya who are super players playing
00:42:15well who spent most of the time defending because of these two again look at the pair of them this
00:42:20time this is probably my favorite clip i mean talk about away from home being adventurous when you
00:42:25haven't won deciding to go for it look when he picks it up here livermento there's his fullback
00:42:33the other fullback two highest players up the pitch trying to play his other fullback in to get in on
00:42:38goal gets his shots away just goes over it's absolutely incredible and the quality he's got with his
00:42:44crossing we've seen before hence the fact he's played for england already and for newcastle moving
00:42:49forward having these two fit and available to play gives them so much more going forward it was a
00:42:54terrific performance all around but those two especially for everton frustration because they
00:42:59couldn't build on that win at old trafford on monday night it felt like euphoria on monday night
00:43:03an incredible result great team effort they probably would have expected done a lot better this afternoon
00:43:09but as danny said there newcastle were out the blocks shocked them i don't think i don't think the team
00:43:13were ready especially after watching them probably in midweek against marseille and can we just
00:43:17give a mention to kian and jewsbury hall and tyler adams from earlier on because if he's going to
00:43:20score a worldie you've got to do it on the winning side unbelievable richarlison as well from last
00:43:24last week yeah so you're not going to get a good week in terms of goals yeah after monday night as
00:43:29well okay uh there are five games on sunday's match of the day including chelsea at home to the leaders arsenal
00:43:35arsenal

00:44:47next up tottenham with the second worst home record in the league against fulham with the joint
00:44:52worst away record simon brotherton is your commentator
00:44:57spurs make four changes from last week's derby defeat at arsenal randall colomawani scored twice
00:45:02at his parent club psg in the champions league in midweek and keeps his place as do pedro porro
00:45:08archie gray and lucas bergval christian romero is suspended marco silva takes charge of fulham for the
00:45:15200th time tonight and makes one change samuel chukwesi on loan from milan came off the bench to set up
00:45:22the winner against sunderland last week and gets his first start in the premier league this evening
00:45:27in preference to kevin spurs last win at home in the premier league was on the opening day of the
00:45:33season which was the last time that fulham got anything on the road they secured a point in
00:45:39that opening match they've been empty-handed ever since away from the cottage swept forward off the boot
00:45:46of wilson here's alex iwobi
00:45:51and now josh king
00:45:55chukwesi jimenez is in the middle wilson's up there too
00:45:59kenny tete with a shot which takes a deflection and fulham ahead in three and a half minutes
00:46:10well kenny tete hasn't scored for two years almost to the day but via a deflection it's his shot that
00:46:19has full of a head third valve was wrong-footed by the pass tete blasted it towards the goal
00:46:30chukwesi lays it off and here you can see it takes a deflection which carries it past the goalkeeper
00:46:37it's tottenham hotspur nil full and one it deflects off udogi past vicario
00:46:47what a start for marco silva's team two wins in the last seven in the league for them much needed
00:46:54three points last week against sunderland and a great start here and now jimenez and vicario fully
00:46:59committed
00:46:59has given the ball away and now he's a mile out of his goal as harry wilson makes it too
00:47:09oh what an error by vicario what was he thinking on a play for harry wilson the finish was superb
00:47:18and inside six minutes stunned spurs of two down and hope
00:47:23the crowd have barely taken their seats and amazingly full of a two nil up
00:47:33in this london derby vicario here decides to hang on to it that's a fantastic finish from wilson
00:47:45king lays it off wilson first time full of two up two minutes and 16 seconds between the two goals
00:47:54tottenham are rattled it fell kindly there for ewobi looking to make the most of it here's samuel
00:48:00chukwesi and still with chukwesi it's a corner he looks like a very good uh loan signing for the
00:48:08season for fulham samuel chukwesi taking a little while to get fully up to speed they brought him off
00:48:13the bench a few times including last weekend getting a first start today
00:48:16to be really jangling for tottenham every time fulham go anywhere near them chukwesi oh and it was so
00:48:25close to three wow
00:48:27wow samuel chukwesi rattles vicario's post fulham so close to a three nil lead in ten minutes
00:48:39what a night under the lights this could be turning into
00:48:47menes with the little flick poro under pressure here's chukwesi he's around the keeper what a
00:48:52challenge that is by van der wijn sensational great play by the dutch defender
00:49:02well chukwesi looked as if he was in there but
00:49:05mickey van der wijn to the rescue for tottenham hotspur
00:49:10well thomas frank needs his team to find a goal or two there's a man who
00:49:16knows where the goal is teddy sheringham former tottenham striker
00:49:26here comes kevin dance so it opened up before him into
00:49:31colomawani gray finds poro fulham on the back foot and the header just wide from colomawani
00:49:40best we've seen from tottenham randall colomawani getting up superbly ahead of kelvin bassey
00:49:49fulham very much on the back foot at the moment in this little spell of the game
00:49:55kudus again seeing plenty of the ball drilled in by poro sent away by wilson not convincingly bergbaugh
00:50:03here's kudus go to go it's a thunderous finish from mohammed kudus
00:50:12and with just over half an hour to go it's a different game now
00:50:16well what a time for mohammed kudus to score his second goal of the season look at the space he had
00:50:22here and he made it count terrific finish
00:50:24beyond burned leno bird fouls delivery one to controlled it and the other to lash it into the
00:50:33back of fulham's net interesting that fulham should score two goals in the first six minutes
00:50:39today because they'd only scored four goals in the first half of games all season before coming here
00:50:47more defending for fulham to do though poro marauding down the near side there was an opportunity for simon's
00:50:55challenged importantly at the final moment by anderson tottenham will have another corner as a result
00:51:05put us with the corner it's off the line it was jimenez for fulham
00:51:14all hands on deck for the visiting side here now
00:51:18raul jimenez was in the right place at the right time here to head the ball off the line
00:51:24fulham winners of just one of their last 15 visits to tottenham in the premier league still ahead
00:51:35in this one and this is a rare second half attack as chakwezi
00:51:42handled by raul jimenez who is booked for it by the referee
00:51:50he tried to bat that one towards the goal with his hands
00:51:53it's a yellow card for the fulham striker petro foro looking for the run made by sar
00:52:02basi across anderson away
00:52:13danso launches this throw
00:52:15and the shot as that the color moani with the back flick there not far wide of the post
00:52:25polo moani brilliant improvisation and unlucky to see it go just wide
00:52:29down so with the clearance now but again he can't find a teammate sander burger there's the final
00:52:38whistle booze rain down from the home crowd thomas frank's team lose at home for the fourth time in
00:52:47the league this season fulham's first away win of the season their first win at tottenham in 12 years
00:52:54of course every game plan you have you can throw it out in the bin um after six minutes the first one
00:53:00was a deflected go a deflected shot uh goal and the other one of course a mistake uh from vic uh no
00:53:07problem and um i heard some of our fans apparently booed uh the incident and booed after which in my
00:53:13opinion is completely unacceptable can't be true uh children fans that do that well deserved three
00:53:18points big win but very well deserved what a first half from us and two nils should be should have
00:53:24been more um of the post bowl when we went with the goalkeeper shook on some some some great moments
00:53:30from us what a goal from from mary what a confusion from age and you and clear that the goalkeeper
00:53:36was not on the on the goal and the first touch on the ball after the pass from josh what a finish
00:53:41top last goal from mary so thomas frank saying it's unacceptable for the spurs fans to boo vicario
00:53:48obviously there was an edge around tonight wasn't the confidence seemed very low and he was undoubtedly
00:53:52at fault for what turned out to be the winning goal do you understand the fans frustration there
00:53:58i do understand the fans frustration it's obviously difficult i know the role that vicario is playing
00:54:03he's a great team player he's a real leader in the dressing room but ultimately you're going to be
00:54:07judged by your actions and he was heavily involved in what turned out to be the match winning goal
00:54:12good position really they're already one nil down early on so the edge is already in the stadium
00:54:17now people will be asking for him to clear it here i understand and now he's got himself this is when you're
00:54:22realizing i'm in big trouble do you know what i'll just knock it out i'll get my defenders back and
00:54:26i'll get back in goal but he still wants to try and keep the ball in play that's the modern way
00:54:31that's the modern day goalkeeper screws one up the line but this is brilliant from fulham king and
00:54:37wilson immediately realizing tottenham are in massive trouble now king knows what a technician harry harry
00:54:43wilson is so he lays it on a plate look at harry wilson when he receives this back to goal but he trusts
00:54:48his left foot he knows he's just got to set that out at the penalty spot and let the curve on the
00:54:53ball do the rest that is an absolute piece of art but from a topman point of view completely avoidable
00:55:01great vision from him yeah absolutely and thomas frank now is is obviously going to feel some kind
00:55:06of pressure with the fans not happy letting their disquiet be known that is now them only having one
00:55:13once at home at the beginning of the season three times this calendar year as well well he's got to
00:55:18take the stick he's he's taken a high profile job at a huge football club with massive expectation
00:55:24so there's pressure and responsibility that comes with that and the performances at home have been
00:55:28poor and they've got to improve quickly he's got a hell of a good squad yet he's got a few players
00:55:33missing but i don't think at the moment he knows his best team or he's not sure in his best formation
00:55:38and that's a problem and the confidence is really low so they've got to keep working hard i mean they
00:55:43had a good go second half and made some chances but um yeah for now he's got to ride the criticism
00:55:49he's got to keep working on a training pitch and get that team winning some games at home and on the
00:55:53flip side for marco silva and fulham they'd only had one point uh on the road this season five straight
00:55:58defeats in a row uh you know they they scored so early in that game as well didn't they really took control
00:56:04of the game scoring the first half isn't something that they've they've generally been doing so you
00:56:08know that that would be a real confidence boost to that he'll be really pleased because before last
00:56:13week's well the last game against sondland when they won that there was a little bit of criticism
00:56:17coming his way the team was struggling a bit a lot of talk about his contract two great performances
00:56:22six points everything settles down i actually think fulham have played better this season than their
00:56:27points tally reflects um i think a lot of the fulham fans now would like to see the contract issue
00:56:33concluded and him signed because he's done a wonderful job okay uh next up brentford with
00:56:38four wins from six at home so far this season against a burnley side in the bottom three and
00:56:43on a run of three straight defeats conor mcnamara watch this one
00:56:50keith andrews makes two changes from brentford's defeat away at brighton last weekend aaron hickey
00:56:56replaces christopher ire into feds while matthias jensen starts in midfield ahead of yarmuluk
00:57:02scott parker makes two changes to the burnley team that started against chelsea last time
00:57:07in midfield hannibal mebrey makes his first premier league start since august in place of
00:57:12ugu chukwu while lyle foster joins the attack preferred to jayden anthony
00:57:21since their own promotion to the top flight brentford have had a very strong record against newly
00:57:25promoted sides here at this stadium they've won their last 10 in a row scoring at least twice in
00:57:31each game
00:57:35he's very comfortable dropping his shoulder and advancing nathan collins
00:57:39plays it up for the defender for a brentford corner
00:57:42decent whip on that collins is close very close for brentford the brentford captain looking for his
00:57:55first premier league goal of the campaign close against his former club three defeats in a row before
00:58:03today but scott parker says he's still pleased with his team's performances he doesn't believe they're
00:58:09far off where they need to be
00:58:13this is high risk stuff and jensen's been caught in possession and down goes hannibal mebrey
00:58:17and burnley is screaming for a corner but it's going to be a yellow card for the attacking player
00:58:24simulation from hannibal mebrey he sees yellow for a dive video assistant referee today is neil davis
00:58:33they say that is a clear act of simulation no contact for the defender it's a yellow card for diving for
00:58:41hannibal mebrey cullen
00:58:46pass from hannibal mebrey and then fiorentino's attempt to fleming was just fractually behind to the
00:58:52intended target
00:58:53hannibal wattara is able to wriggle free of florentino here this is michael damscott can he get the
00:59:00angle oh he did just couldn't keep the shot down
00:59:07michael damscott who scored against fuller back in september look at the space he's got here
00:59:12was able to cut back infield of cullen bernley very fortunate that that wasn't in the back of the net
00:59:18hannibal walker chance to look up for hannibal mebrey touch from shader
00:59:32kept in by hartman
00:59:35nice interchange between hartman and chowder and then a shot on target from zion fleming
00:59:41he's by far the best that bernley have offered today that's the most stressful moment that
00:59:48creepy keller has had today
00:59:52coming into this weekend only arsenal and manchester city had one more premier league home games this
00:59:57season and only those two teams have scored more home goals this campaign than keith andrew's side
01:00:03jango watara trying to cut it back for shot again it's walker's clearance this is the ensign
01:00:08it gets it back from hickey damscott
01:00:14fairly defensive with a lot of pressure at the moment walker looks to relieve some of that
01:00:20attempted clearance block down by jensen damscott looking for it got chiago cut out by esteve
01:00:27this is coyote and that's very close coyote scooping it in for jango watara and the two of them nearly
01:00:36combining at the moment burnley are hanging on a little bit now
01:00:42this season the gtech has become one of the premier league's toughest tests the only visiting
01:00:47team to win here have been manchester city home support that's getting well used to celebrating home
01:00:53victories here hoping that a late winning goal is going to arrive today it's a good touch jensen to
01:00:59dam's gone ico ciaco took off too early jango watara's time to his run well though then a big collision and
01:01:04it's going to be a penalty penalty to brentford and a glorious chance of a breakthrough
01:01:13yellow card for axel tuenzimi it's all been looked at by the video system referee does tuenzimi get a
01:01:20touch of the ball before any collision outcome of this decision could well decide the game
01:01:27penalty is going to stand
01:01:33in the last 10 minutes of normal time
01:01:36ico ciago who's been the heartbeat of brentford's attack this season
01:01:41and he puts the keeper the wrong way after just 13 league games this season it's the quickest any
01:01:50brentford player has taken to reach 10 goals in a premier league campaign
01:01:55bay
01:02:03lord hartman
01:02:07oh hesitation with keone the referee points to the spot burnley get a penalty now it's only two minutes
01:02:15since ico ciaco scored the spot kicked down the other end and now brentford have given a penalty away
01:02:22zion fleming can he level things up with just over five minutes of normal time to play here
01:02:30up against quevy kelleher who's got a good record from spot kicks but can't do anything about that
01:02:37burnley get it back to 1-1 and it's now four goals in his last five premier league games for zion fleming
01:02:46steps header
01:02:56touch from yarmuluk here's coyote who gave away the penalty a moment ago henderson that's a really good
01:03:00ball in and kyle walker he tried to clear it couldn't and that man again igor tiago
01:03:10we went 81 minutes in this game without a goal and now there's been three goals in five minutes
01:03:20ruthless finish from the brazilian igor tiago he's now up to 11 in the premier league this season
01:03:30and that is nine goals now in these last eight games for him
01:03:37rico henry
01:03:40damaskard he's had some glorious touches today here comes jordan henderson this can finish it now
01:03:46watara it's gonna be brentford's day again the solidity of their home form continues
01:03:55it's a third premier league goal of the season for dango watara and didn't he take it well took it
01:04:04around a step brentford three burnley one i thought it was a it was a big win for us to um we've been
01:04:15yeah pretty good at home so far this season so i wanted to keep that momentum um first half i thought
01:04:21the game was a little bit scrappy and um not many chances it was a bit of a fight but second half
01:04:28like you see i think we grew into the game uh we're a bit more patient and forced the um the chances
01:04:33that we got a bit more um and played in their half and and thankfully we got a reward to the goals
01:04:39there's elements to our game at this present time what we need to we need to learn from we need to
01:04:43fix for sure at the start of this season i probably knew what this journey would look like and there's um
01:04:48there's a journey ahead of us where there's going to be some bumps in that journey we need to learn
01:04:52and be brutally honest in our assessment of things and we've got a massive game now on wednesday and
01:04:56we'll we'll come again igor chiago continues to to bang in the goals 11 now in 13. he's been
01:05:02magnificent yeah i thought he was quiet in the first half um put on him a little bit of half time
01:05:07wanted him to influence the game a little bit more some of that was down to us not giving him enough
01:05:11service opposition obviously denying that space and an opportunity but equally i felt he could impose
01:05:16himself a little bit more on the game he certainly did on the second half yeah it was a game you
01:05:20didn't want to leave early all the goals coming after 81 minutes four goals in 12 minutes as well
01:05:25but it's the the front four if you like of brentford the four attacking players that you're really
01:05:30impressed by especially when you consider the players the names that they've lost over the last
01:05:33year and a half or so yeah especially with the names that they've lost but with that front three of
01:05:37watara tiago and shader but damsgard fourth season now just linking the play up beautifully they look real
01:05:45threat going forward it's just lurking in that kind of phil foden role looking threatening all the
01:05:52time they look to play to him they allow him to drift into different positions one thing he must love is
01:05:57when he looks up there's his front three there's three threats all the time with a player like him
01:06:03with the quality he'll actually be very disappointed with that but brentford are relentless they don't just
01:06:08go for one attack if they can turn it over if um burnley did the like they do they're going to keep
01:06:13coming and keep coming and the threats always in the middle really good header be disappointed that
01:06:18he's missed there dams card on that left-hand side just looking to receive on the half turn
01:06:23tiago stretching as much as he can really good sada just takes control here and he just kept knocking
01:06:30on the door kept asking questions and he felt like it was coming
01:06:36turnover dams card always on that half turn really good tiago running always just threats coming from all
01:06:42angles and they've earned that penalty there and what i loved about seeing this penalty is he had
01:06:47a big moment last week saved stepped up cool as a cucumber massive moment for his team obviously got
01:06:54pegged back pretty quickly but this team know what they're doing now we've got that trademark jordan
01:06:58henderson around the back as i was talking about before not just one chance relentless keeping on going
01:07:04and we know in the premier league a one goal lead isn't enough so i'd have turned it around the
01:07:09corner here and this is lovely ball into watara this is a really composed finish he really pleased with
01:07:15his work excellent job today from brentford excellent so tiago danny uh the fastest brentford player in
01:07:23the premier league to double figures and he and he sits with an illustrious list of brentford players and
01:07:28the names around him he's he's looking to get into the brazil squad that's his goal he's got no caps
01:07:34so far the world cup's the aim has he got a chance he has got a chance because he's unique and he's a
01:07:39bit of an all-rounder he's old school physical but he's got good touch he can run in behind he scores
01:07:44different types of goals he can link up well i think he's got a chance because nobody's really
01:07:48nailed down that number nine for brazil yet and he's had a terrific start to the season brilliant all
01:07:54credit to top brazilian goal scorer in europe at the moment as well so he should be in the squad
01:07:58yeah okay danny murphy says so uh before we go let's take a look at the premier league table
01:08:03and manchester city's dramatic late win over leeds cuts the gap on arsenal to four points ahead of the
01:08:10gunners trip to chelsea on sunday sunland's dream start to life back in the top flight goes on as they
01:08:14rise back up to four defeats for leeds and burnley keep them rooted in the bottom three but fulham open up
01:08:19the six point gap above the relegation places following their victory at tottenham thank you
01:08:25so much to danny and to joe so foden save city from a fright to make sure arsenal aren't out of
01:08:31sight even though leeds put up a fight and sundland won again at the stadium of delight good night
01:08:49so
