00:00I think we all believe very strongly that the U.S. economy is best served by having an independent Federal Reserve making monetary policy decisions based on data and analysis and nothing else.
00:10And we're not perfect at it. You know, I've stressed today that the signals that we're getting are mixed and they're complicated and we're doing our best to make the best judgments we can.
00:20But keeping politics out of it. And we're all committed to that. Ultimately, we'll have a new chair of the Fed, of the Board of Governors and of the FOMC.
00:27And that person, whoever he or she is, will have to make their best arguments to the rest of the committee on what monetary policy is appropriate to achieve the dual mandate that we are all charged by Congress to try to achieve.
00:40That person gets one vote and, you know, the best argument wins.
00:44And so I feel very I feel confident that the committee will be continue to make the best decisions we can based on data and analysis to achieve the dual mandate that Congress has charged us to try to achieve.
