00:00A lorry driver has been jailed for 10 years after crashing into a stationary taxi on the M62,
00:08killing two Ryanair pilots. Liverpool Crown Court heard Anthony Burns fail to notice traffic
00:14slowing near Junction 8 in Cheshire in July 2024. His HGV crushed the taxi, killing Jamie Fernandez,
00:21aged 24, and Matthew Greenhull, aged 28, instantly. Taxi driver Rashid Mahmood survived with multiple
00:29injuries. No alcohol, drugs or phone use were involved. Burns admitted two counts of causing
00:34death and one of serious injury by dangerous driving. He's been banned from driving for
00:39150 months and must pass an extended test.
