00:00I won't speak to legislation affecting those outside New York City as the legislation that
00:17you indicated does but I take the arrival of autonomous vehicles very seriously and
00:23will always make sure that our policy and our decision making is focused on the drivers
00:29who are here alongside me, in front of me, behind me, to keep our city moving.
00:34Thank you!
00:36Sign the call!
00:37T.O.P.
00:38Your question about T.O.P.
00:41Okay, we'll take a view on front of the call.
00:43Yeah, Lisa, go ahead.
00:44Okay, thank you.
00:45Actually, thank you.
00:46Go ahead.
00:48Mr. Mayor, your response today to President Trump announcing that we've been cutting the
00:54funding, threatening February 1 to sanctuary cities and states.
01:00Our values and our laws cannot be bargaining chips.
01:07I will always defend this city and every single person who calls this city home, even in the
01:12face of threats from the federal administration, to withhold funds.
01:17Yeah, Katie, go ahead.
01:18Just following up on Linda's question, I know you do speak to President Trump.
01:22Have you spoken to President Trump since he announced earlier today that he would cut
01:26funding to sanctuary cities in New York?
01:27And I know you said that you will fight back, but if there is a funding that has dried up,
01:31how will the city make up for that missing what could be billions of dollars?
01:36So I reached out to President Trump to express my sharp opposition to this decision and to
01:41make my values clear, and I will always continue to do so, whether to the president or to all
01:48New Yorkers, to be honest about where I actually stand.
01:50I've yet to hear back from the president, and this is the position I hold as the mayor
01:54of New York City.
01:55What is the plan if the money is cut off?
01:58There are many threats that are made to New York City on a regular basis, and I am confident
02:03in our city's ability to fight those threats back, and we've also seen, whether it be in
02:08the courts or whether it be beyond that, our ability to win those fights.
02:11Thank you, Katie.
02:12Two questions, but one is super easy.
02:14The first one, in Iran, unfortunately, 2,000 protesters, reports say 2,000 protesters have
02:21died.
02:22Do you support the way the Iranian government has responded to that, and if not, what do you
02:27do you think they should do differently, and then I'll do this differently?
02:30I absolutely do not support the way the Iranian government has responded to that.
02:34I think that the Iranian government and every government should respect the right of people
02:37to express their political opinions, and for people to be able to do so safely.
02:41Second question.
02:42On your blog, this relationship with Trump, who texts first, and what do you guys text about?
02:48I've exchanged a handful of texts with the president since we met in the Oval Office, and those
02:54texts, the conversations that we've had, they always come back to New York City, and the
02:58importance of delivering for the people who call the city home.
03:00Thank you guys so much.
03:02Thank you, guys.
03:03Thank you, guys.
03:06Do you want a bear hug?
