00:05The Defence Ministry says it spotted 20 Chinese military aircraft and nine naval vessels operating near Taiwan between Tuesday and Wednesday morning.
00:1517 of the aircraft came close to Taiwan's main island.
00:19The incursion comes as Taiwan's legislature is having a heated debate over a record US$40 billion special defence spending bill.
00:26President Lei Tingde proposed the bill in November to counter China's growing military threats.
