00:00You know, you know, you know, you know when they start talking, when the people that who I fight, when they start talking, that's when y'all get dumped.
00:09I'ma be here to y'all talk for real. I better be quiet.
00:13You've been talking since I've been busy. I can't wait. I'ma show you. I'ma show you.
00:18Next, I told y'all who I want to fight. I can't keep saying the same thing. I already told y'all who I want to fight.
00:25The best versus the best. That should be my next fight.
00:28It happens now? What do you think? Yes. You do? Yeah, for sure.
00:31Do you think it'll be your next one? I think it could be. Really? I think it could be. Gigantic.
00:36Backstage at the Shakur Stevenson vs. Teofimo Lopez press conference, Gervonta Tank Davis and Shakur were seen having a heated exchange.
00:44According to those nearby, it's centered on what could come next if Shakur gets past Teofimo, with Shakur aggressively challenging Tank for about next.
00:53I'm a top-level, elite-level fighter, so let's make boxing great again. Let's put the best fighters in the ring with each other, and let's see who'll come out victorious.
01:02Andy Evans.
01:03Right.
01:03Ever since Shakur and Gervonta Davis emerged as two of the most accomplished fighters in boxing's lightweight scene, there's been an undercurrent of tension running between them that goes well beyond typical competitive respect.
01:16It's not just that both men sit near the top of a division stacked with talent. It's the way they talk about each other, the names they throw around, and the way their respective camps react every time their paths cross in interviews, press events, or even social media exchanges.
01:3035 contemporaries have a lot to say these days. Shakur Stevenson, well, of course, he's now at 135 after all that stuff, and then Devin Haney.
01:38Right, so why people even talk like he the best at, he didn't even fight at 135 yet.
01:44Right.
01:45He didn't even have power at 126, I mean 126, 30, or none of that.
01:49He is good.
01:51Okay.
01:51How can you, all that's just okay.
01:56How can you stop people that can actually hit?
02:02No matter all that boxing, you're going to get hit.
02:06What you going to do when you get hit?
02:08For a long time, fans have been clamoring for a Tank vs. Shakur showdown, calling it one of the biggest and most anticipated fights that could be made in the sport.
02:16A clash between a power puncher known for explosive knockouts and a slick technician revered for his defensive mastery and boxing IQ.
02:24Shakur himself has openly called for the fight on numerous occasions, even stating in interviews that he'd willingly put other opponents on hold if Davis would agree to face him next,
02:34showing just how much he wants that matchup to materialize finally.
02:37What do you think about the room as a Tank and Jay fight?
02:40Man, it's ain't disrespectful to the sport if he choose that over fighting with me.
02:46I'm the best fighter in the sport.
02:48I've been telling him that.
02:49He called cap on it.
02:51So if he won't call cap and say I'm not who I say I am, come prove.
02:54I think it's dangerous for him to go back in there and fight Lamont.
02:57I think Lamont is a hell of a fighter.
03:01I can see that going left.
03:03So he better be on his A game.
03:04Shakur Stevenson explained that his issues with Gervonta Davis stem from energy and mindset, saying that you can sense when someone views you as a real threat.
03:13According to Shakur, as Tank got older and more established, his energy shifted from dismissive to openly hostile.
03:19Shakur believes Tank knows the truth deep down, even if he publicly downplays it.
03:24He says Davis understands that Shakur is the biggest danger around his weight class, which is why he gets visibly irritated whenever his name comes up.
03:32In Shakur's view, that frustration comes from insecurity, not disrespect.
03:36He believes Tank knows Shakur would give him serious problems in the ring.
03:40Shakur also pointed out the difference in their mentalities.
03:43Tank sees the sport as me or nobody, while Shakur thrives on competition and proving he's the best by facing elite fighters head on.
03:50Yeah, for sure.
03:52What changed?
03:54Competition.
03:55As you get older, you start to know what competition is.
04:00And he kind of looked at me like I feel like I was a third, which is rightfully so.
04:08Like, I don't blame him for the way that he looked at me.
04:11But it is what it is.
04:14It's two guys that just want to be the best in our sport.
04:17And we were ready to lay it all on the line.
04:19Did he say to you, like, yo, I don't want to be friends or we can't or is it just like a gradual thing where it started to become more distant?
04:26Now you just know energy.
04:27You know energy.
04:28Once you feel the energy that's coming at you, you understand like, OK, I get it.
04:34When do you think that started to change?
04:36I think as he kind of matured and got older.
04:38Once you get older and mature, his energy kind of let it be known like, yeah, you the ops.
04:47We got to fight.
04:48So and perhaps as you were progressing and, you know, getting to the level that you're at now.
04:55He knew he knew exactly deep down inside.
04:58He could sit here and say, I'm not this.
05:01I'm not a good fighter.
05:02I'm not that.
05:03But deep down inside, he knows that I'm the truth.
05:07Right.
05:07So with him knowing that, he knows that I'm the biggest threat around where he's at.
05:14Do you see he gets very upset when people ask him about you?
05:16Yeah.
05:17I think that's insecurity, though.
05:19I think he's insecure.
05:20Because he knows that you give him trouble?
05:25What's he insecure about in your opinion?
05:26You know, with top level guys like him, because because, like, I'm kind of different.
05:36I look at things like competition.
05:37But like his mentality is more so like.
05:41It's either me or it's nobody.
05:44It's not a one A, one B, or you don't have nobody equal to you.
05:49So I understand his mentality.
05:52But despite all the talk, Tank has mostly refused to bite.
05:55After recent promotional events and press tours, Davis has dismissed talk of fighting
05:59Shakur altogether, publicly questioning what Stevenson has really done in the sport and
06:04even telling reporters that he doesn't see Stevenson as a worthy opponent worth prioritizing.
06:08In a recent press interaction, Davis went as far as to say things like,
06:12what has he done when asked why he hasn't stepped up to fight Stevenson?
06:16And emphasized that he's more interested in pursuing other names like Devin Haney,
06:20Ryan Garcia, or Vasily Lomachenko before even considering that unification of styles.
06:25In many ways, Davis' public stance isn't just about avoiding a dangerous stylist.
06:30It's a strategic dismissal that fuels the perception of a beef between them.
06:34Because it frames Stevenson not just as a rival,
06:36but as someone whose legitimacy Davis feels the need to question in front of the media.
06:41So, like, Shakur, right?
06:45Like, he look like he got skill, right?
06:48But to be honest, I'm going to be real, I ain't seen him fight nobody that's like...
06:52That's like, that's amateur shit.
06:55Come on, bro.
06:56When that heat coming back at you, them niggas, like, you can see it.
07:00Yeah.
07:00You can see it.
07:01They ain't really...
07:02These niggas just talking that way.
07:03And there's always, oh, he can be this, he can be the next.
07:07Nigga, prove yourself.
07:08You still haven't proved yourself.
07:10When someone was in front of you that can crack a little bit, he ran the whole fight.
07:15Shakur, meanwhile, has taken a very different tone.
07:18He doesn't just want the fight.
07:20He believes he would win if it ever happened.
07:22In interviews going back months, Stevenson has said things along the lines of believing
07:26he's the superior boxer and that Davis can't beat me, pointing to his own skill set and
07:32technical mastery as what would carry him to victory.
07:35He's also accused Davis of picking and choosing easier opponents or weight stipulations to
07:40protect his unbeaten record rather than stepping into the ring with the fighters who would truly
07:44validate his place at the top.
07:46Such comments are more than just friendly rivalry banter.
07:49They're pointed critiques designed to paint Davis as someone who avoids risks while Stevenson
07:54asserts he's ready for any challenge.
07:56So are these gimmick exhibition matches like Jake Paul versus Tank Davis or Floyd versus
08:00Tyson good or bad for the sport of boxing?
08:05I mean, I feel like in Floyd and Tyson's situation is different than Jake Paul and Buddy.
08:11I feel like with Floyd and Tyson, it's like, okay, y'all deserve it.
08:14Y'all legends, y'all paid homage.
08:17Y'all did the most for the sport of boxing already.
08:21So you deserve a big payday and be cool.
08:24I'm cool with it.
08:25I like it.
08:26But with Jake and Buddy, I feel like Buddy is a participate in a sport of boxing right
08:31now.
08:32And he just came off a draw his last fight.
08:35So if you're a real champion and top level guy that you say you are, which I think you
08:41are, too.
08:42I think you're the truth.
08:43But if you're that guy and you just came off a draw, I think rematching will be the most
08:48competitive thing to do.
08:50With the Jake Paul situation, it's a money grab fight.
08:54So to me, it's like some WWE shit.
08:56When Davis announced the fight with Jake Paul, a large portion of the boxing fanbase reacted
09:01with disappointment and criticism, suggesting that Davis chose an easier, more lucrative
09:06spectacle instead of pursuing a legitimate showdown with Shakur Stevenson.
09:10Many fans on social media argued that by opting for the Paul fight, widely seen as more of
09:15a celebrity exhibition and money grab than a competitive sporting challenge, Tank was intentionally
09:20avoiding the fight with Shakur that the boxing world has been clamoring for.
09:24Critics pointed to Davis' repeated dismissals of Stevenson in interviews and his lack of
09:29call-outs toward Shakur, saying this pattern reflects a reluctance to risk his undefeated
09:34aura against one of the sport's top pound-for-pound talents.
09:37This sentiment fueled the narrative that Davis is prioritizing easy paydays over high-stakes
09:42competition.
09:43Shakur, obviously you are a student of boxing.
09:46You love this sport.
09:48I mean, when you hear this today on social media or wherever you happen to get the news,
09:51were you like, what?
09:52Like, can that actually be, man?
09:55No, I'm not shocked.
09:56I mean, his last fight when he fought Lamar, Jake Paul was at the fight.
10:01He told y'all he was going to fight somebody like Jake Paul.
10:04So, I'm not shocked.
10:06It don't surprise me.
10:07So, nah.
10:09You know, Shakur, Jake, when he fought Mike Tyson, he was 227 pounds.
10:15He was almost, he was 199 and, like, 199 point something in his last fight against Julio
10:20Cesar Chavez Jr.
10:22He hasn't been only boxing for a couple of years.
10:24He's 12-1.
10:26Tank Davis, obviously, been boxing his whole life.
10:28He's 30-0-1.
10:30He's knocked everybody out except for three opponents in his life.
10:33But at what point does size matter so much, though, where it can't be overcome, Shakur?
10:37And is it in this case here when you've got what is, like, a 70-pound difference between
10:42these two guys?
10:43I mean, size will play some part of the fight.
10:45But if I'm thinking, like, I'm Tank, I'm probably just going to go out there and try
10:50to outbox him and use my knowledge and IQ against him.
10:54So, I can see Tank just outboxing him and making it real easy.
10:59Is there any way you could, any realistic or legitimate way in your mind you could see
11:03Jake Paul winning a fight against Tank?
11:06No.
11:06No way.
11:08Nope.
11:09Davis didn't back down or change course.
11:11He made it clear he simply doesn't care what people think about his decisions and plans.
11:16At a press event promoting the Paul fight, Tank brushed off the criticism, saying that
11:20fans' opinions are constantly shifting and that their frustration doesn't influence
11:24his choices.
11:25He told critics to sit back, enjoy the sport, and stop worrying about what he does next time.
11:30A lot of boxing fans aren't happy with the fact you've taken this fight rather than
11:34the road rematch, fights with the likes of Shakur, Devin Haney, Teofimo, etc.
11:40What do you make of that reaction?
11:41Can we still expect to see those fights in the future?
11:45I don't care what they think.
11:47When y'all switch, y'all switch every, somebody can have a bad day and y'all switching on who
11:54y'all favorite fighter is or who this person is supposed to fight.
11:58Like, y'all need to sit back and be fans and just enjoy the sport.
12:02Like, y'all, y'all, y'all even talk about people's personal lives.
12:06Like, why, when did it come to that?
12:09Can we still expect to see any of those fights in the future, though?
12:12And y'all keep talking about fighting somebody.
12:14Didn't he just have a fight?
12:16Didn't he just have a fight?
12:17And what happened?
12:18What happened?
12:20What happened?
12:22He won, right?
12:23But how, how you look in it?
12:26Exactly.
12:27But y'all say some different shit when it's me, right?
12:30Because y'all want me to lose.
12:31It is, when y'all see people in that limelight too long, they want to take that, they want
12:37somebody else to, you know, come take that spot.
12:40That's why it's always, like, come on, bro.
12:43That's what happened with Floyd.
12:45Y'all seen him too much, and once y'all seen him so much, y'all start hating on him.
12:50Like, it turned from love to hate.
12:52However, to get his dream fight with Davis, Shakur Stevenson first has to handle business
12:57against Teofimo Lopez.
12:59Stevenson and Lopez are scheduled to face off in a highly anticipated junior welterweight
13:03title bout, a matchup Stevenson has openly embraced and prepared for as the next major
13:08step in his career.
13:10A win over Lopez would not only add another world title to Stevenson's resume, but it
13:14would also significantly boost his credibility and bargaining power in negotiations for a future
13:20fight with Tank.
13:20Many fans and insiders believe that only after beating a big name like Teofimo can
13:25Stevenson legitimately position himself as the top contender deserving of a match with
13:30Davis, a fight that has been talked about for years, but has yet to be made.
13:34You know, Shakur is a very talented, skidful, technique fighter.
13:39Yeah.
13:39You know?
13:40Can't take anything away from it.
13:41However, scared to get hit.
13:45Mmm.
13:45Scared to get knocked out in front of the world.
13:48Scared to get touched up in front of the world.
13:50Are you saying that off of the last fight or just you see this?
13:53In general.
13:53In general.
13:54In general.
13:55Yeah.
13:55In general.
13:56Me and Shakur sparred before.
13:57We did three rounds and it was just light work and me trying to figure out his jab.
14:01Does he have a good jab?
14:02Yeah, he does.
14:03But once you pass it, once you pass his jab, it's game.
14:07Yeah.
14:07It's food.
14:08It's lunch.
14:08I am the best.
14:09I don't see no contract that says Shakur's name on there.
14:13Yeah.
14:13So until then, I'm going to say and talk my stuff.
14:16Yeah.
14:16And if you want to come that way, then come that way.
14:19I mean, you have investors that are with you and that's great, but they understand that
14:23they cannot have you come this way.
14:25Mmm.
14:26Because I am too much of a gamble for anybody.
14:29Legendary boxer Shane Sugar Mosley has made a bold prediction ahead of the Shakur Stevenson
14:34versus Teofimo Lopez title fight, and it has many fans talking.
14:38Mosley, a former world champion in multiple weight classes, weighed in on the tactical
14:43matchup set for January 31st, 2026, and he's leaning in favor of Stevenson.
14:48According to Mosley, while Lopez is a solid, experienced champion with power and a strong
14:53resume, Stevenson's technical skills, movement, and defensive mastery could give him the edge,
14:58especially if he controls the pace and keeps Lopez guessing.
15:02Mosley described the bout as a fascinating clash of styles, but ultimately said he leans
15:06towards Shakur winning due to his boxing ability, even with the step up in weight and Lopez's
15:12achievements as super lightweight.
15:13I don't know if Shakur Stevenson is going to get slower moving up in weight or not, where
15:19Teofimo can hit him.
15:20Maybe he was really fast at 130, 26, 30, maybe 35, but 40, you put him on a little bit
15:28more weight.
15:29Shakur Stevenson has a very strong style where he can sit back and posture at you and box
15:34and stuff like that, where Teofimo can also box and is very athletic and can get from side
15:40to side and make things difficult for you as well.
15:43So, which style is going to impose on the other is what we want to see.
15:49So, which style will impose?
15:51Is it something where the first rounds really will dictate or...?
15:54I think you're going to need a couple of rounds, but the first round is going to be very interesting.
16:01Maybe you see some tales, but I think maybe two or three, you're going to start seeing one
16:09lead the other, because I don't think that, well maybe, I mean, Shakur might show some different,
16:17if he has to go after Teofimo, he might show some different type of heart that we haven't seen
16:22or different type of fighting we haven't seen and vice versa, you know, whereas Teofimo's hitting him
16:27with different shots off the angle, that is kind of giving Shakur Stevenson trouble, we'll see about that.
16:37So, we just don't know.
16:39As talks continue and boxing fans keep debating, the potential showdown between Shakur Stevenson
16:44and Gervonta Tank Davis remains one of the most discussed and elusive matchups in the sport.
16:49Stevenson openly calls it the biggest fight in boxing and insists it would break pay-per-view records
16:55and captivate worldwide attention whenever it happens. Despite his calls and confidence that
16:59the fight should be made, the reality is that both fighters are currently on separate paths,
17:04with Stevenson focused on building his resume and Davis navigating his own career priorities,
17:09meaning that the much anticipated clash could still be a ways off.
17:13If there's a gun in your head, when are we going to see the Shakur Tanks, the Shakur Devon, the Devon Tanks?
17:19There's only one fight that is really bad. If we're going to be for real about it,
17:25keep it honest.
17:26What's the fight?
17:27My opinion, because we talking about skill and boxing, all around boxing, right?
17:32Yeah.
17:32Because we ain't talking about somebody that just got a good jab or whatever.
17:35Yeah, yeah, yeah.
17:36We talking about all around.
17:37They can do everything.
17:38Yeah, boxing.
17:39Yeah.
17:40Me and Tank, the biggest fight.
17:41That's the one.
17:42It's the biggest fight in the world.
17:43Yeah.
17:44What do you think? Should Tank finally step up and face Shakur if he beats Teofimo?
18:10Or is he dodging the fight on purpose?
