Transcript
00:00Drivers across six Calderdale towns will soon pay to park in places that are currently free.
00:07The council is planning new charges on streets and in car parks in Brighouse, Elland, Halifax,
00:14Hebden Bridge and Todmurden. Proposals include longer charging hours in busier towns and shorter
00:21hours in quieter ones. Hebden Bridge would see new on-street charges with capped rates
00:27and Elland's charges would end earlier in the evening. The council says any surplus income
00:33would fund car parking services, car park repairs and highways maintenance following
00:38a consultation and a required legal orders process.
