00:00A pious saint set out towards the mountains.
00:04After walking a distance, he looked back and saw a destitute man following him.
00:12The saint asked,
00:13What do you desire?
00:16The man replied,
00:17I am a poor man. Please grant me something of your kindness.
00:23The saint pointed his finger towards a mountain,
00:26and instantly the entire mountain turned into solid gold.
00:33The saint continued his journey,
00:36but after a while he noticed the man was still following him.
00:41The saint asked again,
00:44What do you want now?
00:46The man replied,
00:48This is not enough.
00:51The saint then pointed his finger toward a second mountain,
00:55and it too turned into gold.
00:58He repeated this for a third and a fourth mountain,
01:02until all four peaks surrounding them were made of pure gold.
01:09The saint moved forward once more,
01:12but when he looked back,
01:14the man was still right behind him.
01:17The saint asked for the third time,
01:21Now what do you want?
01:23The man pleaded,
01:25Oh, holy one,
01:27I want your finger.
01:30The moral,
01:32It is a profound truth
01:34that greed for wealth and worldly possessions
01:37is such a sickness
01:39that the more one gets,
01:42the more the hunger grows.
01:44Eating food satisfies the stomach's hunger,
01:48but gaining wealth
01:50only increases the gluttony of a greedy soul.
01:56While the desire for a lawful and abundant livelihood
02:00is not a bad thing,
02:02failing to spend that God-given wealth on his creation
02:07is a great evil.
02:09Ultimately,
02:11the obsession with amassing wealth
02:14drives a human to the edge of the grave,
02:18yet the hunger remains.
02:20For such people,
02:22only the dust of the grave
02:25can finally satisfy their hunger.
