00:00Ball it in, then what do you do with it?
00:02Well, I'll tell you what you do.
00:03You leave it by the side of the river when it would be much nicer to be back in the river.
00:06What do you do? You weigh it in for scrap.
00:08Exactly, you weigh it in for scrap.
00:10Oh, I can't be bothered with any of that stuff.
00:12I've just had a thought.
00:13Yeah.
00:14I could weigh you in.
00:15I'm not very heavy.
00:17I wouldn't get much, would I?
00:18Well, there's a lot about it.
00:19Unless he's alloy.
00:20I want to squash it.
00:24I'm Henry Cole.
00:25That is beautiful.
00:26I love you.
00:27And along with fellow fanatic Fuzz Townsend.
00:30In we go.
00:31Wow.
00:32We're back on the hunt for vintage treasures.
00:34Look, even more.
00:35In the nation's sheds.
00:36Oh, my God, it's a treasure trove.
00:38We're going to buy them.
00:39That's fantastic.
00:41Fix them up and sell them for a tidy profit.
00:44I love it.
00:45Welcome to Shed and Buried.
00:51We're off to see Andrew in Kenilworth in Warwickshire.
00:55One of Fuzz's old stomping grounds.
00:58Has Andrew got any cars?
01:00Yes, he has cars.
01:02He has motorcycles.
01:03Oh, right.
01:04And I think...
01:05Some mobilia?
01:06One or two, yeah, yeah.
01:08Really?
01:08A bit of mobilia, yeah.
01:09Right.
01:10You're going to be having a great time because Andrew has been busy collecting for years.
01:15Yeah.
01:15Lots of the sort of stuff that you'd like to get your hands on.
01:19Yeah, exactly.
01:20I'm looking forward to it.
01:21If we've still got a bit of time afterwards, I can show you around.
01:26Well, let's hope he's got about 413 sheds then, shall we?
01:33Whether we return with a car, a bike or a petition for divorce, who knows?
01:39But Kenilworth, here we come.
01:43Now, look, come on, Andrew.
01:44Tell us.
01:44In these sheds, what are we going to find, potentially?
01:50You're going to find some really nice original bikes that haven't been restored.
01:55Fantastic.
01:55That are still ready and still got some life in them.
01:58Yeah.
01:58Just a bit of a mixed bag.
02:00Okay.
02:00There's a bit of everything in there for you.
02:03But is everything for sale?
02:05I would say a large majority of the stuff in there is for sale.
02:09Oh, right.
02:10Okay.
02:10And at very reasonable prices.
02:12Oh, there we go.
02:13There's always a deal in Warwickshire.
02:15That's right.
02:15And I've got to say, because it's my favourite saying, historic Warwick.
02:19Yes.
02:19To deal or not to deal.
02:21Yeah, great.
02:22That is the question.
02:22Oh, that's the question.
02:23Yeah.
02:24You'll fit right in, historic Warwick.
02:26I can feel it.
02:27Shaking by the hash.
02:28Hey, look, we'll see you in a bit.
02:29Come on, I can't wait.
02:30All right, come this way.
02:35Look.
02:36Wow.
02:38Blimey.
02:40If this is a taste of what's to come, bring it on.
02:45Early rally choppers.
02:48That's a magnificent pair of choppers up there.
02:51A selection of triumphs.
02:54And what looks like an imported Honda.
02:57Now, that's very interesting, that Honda.
03:01Yeah, so what is that?
03:02That kind of looks like, well, it's got a high-rise pipe on it, hasn't it?
03:05I reckon it's American.
03:07Yeah.
03:07And I reckon it's sort of a 175 Honda, something like that.
03:11Yeah.
03:11But that is rather nice.
03:18The Honda CL175 was a lightweight budget bike from the late 60s.
03:23Available in both on- and off-road versions.
03:28These small-capacity Japanese motorcycles, predominantly for the American market, are really sought after these days.
03:35And I can see why.
03:36I think they're absolutely lovely.
03:40Oh, my word.
03:41Come on.
03:42Lead the way.
03:45Andrew's second shed is even more ram-packed.
03:50Oh, look at this.
03:51Now there are lots of goodies in this room.
03:53More number plates than the DVLA.
03:57A Triumph Royal Enfield Hybrid.
04:00Royal Enfield Frame.
04:02A Triumph engine, obviously.
04:03A Triumph engine, yeah, yes.
04:04And a Triumph 350T from the late 30s.
04:08Look, the tank.
04:10I like it, yeah.
04:11I wouldn't be surprised if that has never been painted.
04:14No.
04:18You've been hiding it all along.
04:20Look at that sign.
04:22Oh, look at that, yeah.
04:24That is beautiful.
04:25Fill your sump from the Castrol Pump.
04:28That's great.
04:29Shall we go to the other garage?
04:30Come on, then.
04:30Let's go and see what else there is.
04:39Oh, God.
04:40I saw a little trip there.
04:41No, no, no.
04:42You need to get that down.
04:43What's going on?
04:44Quick.
04:44There's a police car.
04:48Oh, my God.
04:49OK, so, look.
04:51We got ourselves a Rover.
04:53The Rover P6 was a 1960s family saloon.
05:00There was a big hit with the police and especially the traffic cops.
05:05There's something odd about this one, though.
05:06Maybe it's not quite what it seems.
05:10I'm not sure that the police had the registration number etched in the glass.
05:18Because I think, you know...
05:19Stop thief.
05:20I thought that was their job.
05:21Yes, exactly.
05:22So, that's a slight giveaway.
05:26But it does have all the funny bits in there.
05:29That is really funny.
05:31Hold on.
05:31What?
05:32There's a knob here.
05:33What?
05:34What knob?
05:34Shall I pull it?
05:35Yeah, all right.
05:36Nob!
05:36Oh!
05:38This is what I love about our job, right?
05:40I come up these steps.
05:41Did I honestly think I would see, what, a 70s police Rover?
05:46Oh, I could see myself in this.
05:48I bet you could, yeah.
05:49I could.
05:49Probably in the back in handcuffs.
05:51Anyway, that's a little bit of a car.
05:52Look at the Porsche 924s.
05:54Back in handcuffs.
06:00About 1979, 1980 on a V-pl...
06:03Oh, look at that.
06:05It matches your trousers.
06:07Not the current ones.
06:08The ones that you wear when you're not on TV.
06:10I've got to tell you, right, I'm not a mad follower of Porsche 924s.
06:15No.
06:16But at the same time, I actually do love the interior.
06:19Yeah.
06:20That is so late 70s, man.
06:22Oh, look at that.
06:29Oh, look.
06:30Oh, look.
06:30Wow.
06:32Oh, look.
06:32Oh, look.
06:33Oh, look.
06:34Blimey, O'Reilly.
06:35Ha, ha, ha.
06:36Now, that's pretty special, isn't it?
06:38Jaguar XK 120s, early post-war sports cars.
06:43This is post-war British optimism at its zenith.
06:47Jaguar's XK 120 was released in 1947.
06:54The 120 referred to its top speed, which allowed it to outpace all its rivals.
07:00Andrew?
07:02Oh, right, yeah.
07:03Come in the middle here.
07:04I've done a restoration on it.
07:06I haven't gone over the top.
07:07We haven't taken the body off, but it was in real state.
07:10It was just in bare metal when I got it.
07:13In its day, this was the fastest production car in the world.
07:16Yeah, it's a lovely thing.
07:18So are you still restoring it?
07:19It's got no seats in it.
07:20Just waiting for the seats to come back from the upholsterers.
07:22I've actually been out driving it like it is.
07:25Yeah, have you?
07:25And given it a road test.
07:27And since the seats are in, it'll be back on the road taking some shows, hopefully.
07:32Oh, yeah, look.
07:33Well, hold on.
07:33What are you leaning on there?
07:35Hey, look.
07:36Oh, that's nice.
07:36That's a Montessa Cotta.
07:38Yeah.
07:38Isn't it?
07:39Great bike in the day.
07:40They gave the Japanese a bit of competition.
07:43I've got it running.
07:44All right.
07:44Bought it from the family.
07:45They'd had it since the 70s.
07:48Really?
07:49So, yeah, that's ready to be brought back.
07:51And I've actually ridden it.
07:53Everything works on it.
07:54Unbelievable.
07:55Alphabet.
07:56Yeah.
07:57Yeah.
07:57R.S.
07:59T.
08:00Yeah.
08:01Oh, yes, please.
08:01No sugar, mate.
08:02It'd be great.
08:03I suppose you want biscuits as well.
08:04Obviously, yeah.
08:06Lovely.
08:06Well done, Andrew.
08:07Great stuff.
08:08Okay, so look, right.
08:11If that's got a buff logbook and it says it runs, it might be a nice deal on that.
08:15Okay.
08:15Okay, so look, what have we got?
08:16I genuinely think that Honda's a result.
08:19Yeah, that is great.
08:21Police car?
08:22We could have some fun with that, couldn't we?
08:24We could have some fun with it.
08:24We could scare some elderly gentleman like ourselves on a Friday night.
08:30Shall we go and have a look?
08:31Yeah, let's just ask about everything.
08:33Come on, mate.
08:33Come on.
08:33Yeah, come on, mate.
08:34Well done.
08:34Age before beauty.
08:35Yeah.
08:40Can we have a little bit of what I call a sighting lab, just so, you know, prices?
08:46Okay, I thought we'd come to this sooner or later.
08:49This police car?
08:50Yes.
08:50Is it a genuine police car?
08:52I'm afraid it's not.
08:53Okay.
08:53It's a really good reconstruction, but it's been in lots of TV productions.
08:57Right.
08:57How much is that?
08:59I've got it advertised at the moment for £4,000 for your English pounds, but there is some wiggle room with it.
09:07Let's talk about a smaller budget item, which is the Montessa Cotter in there.
09:11Is that a £250?
09:12It's a £125, so it's learner legal, and that's got to add some value to it.
09:16How much is that?
09:17Well, I paid £800 for it.
09:19Right.
09:20So if I got my money back on it, I'd be fine with that.
09:23Okay, great.
09:23There was a castral sign on the door.
09:25Oh, yeah, that's a beauty.
09:26How much would that be?
09:28You know, I don't know.
09:29I don't really know much about these signs.
09:31I mean, you're the expert, really.
09:33Where would you pitch?
09:34£200.
09:36I'd let it go for that.
09:38And finally, am I right, finally?
09:41Possibly finally, yeah.
09:42The Honda?
09:42The Honda, yeah.
09:43The Honda CL, I'd really probably want £1,800 for that.
09:48So, look, we're doing £1,800 potentially on the Honda.
09:52How much is the Montessa?
09:54I just want my money back on that, and that costs me £800.
09:57And the sign is £200.
09:59Yeah, I'd let it go.
10:01So if you put the three together, you're looking at a total of £2,800.
10:07Yes.
10:07What about £2,600?
10:09All of it.
10:10We're in Warwickshire with Andrew and his eclectic collection.
10:27He wants £2,800 for a Honda import, a gorgeous sign, and a Montessa off-road bike.
10:35But will he come down?
10:37What about sort of edging towards there, £2,650?
10:41Just so that we're there.
10:42Well, if we come halfway, I've got a lovely oil can.
10:46A nice vintage oil can with a paper label on it, and it's still got some oil in it, and
10:51I'll throw that in.
10:52What, for £2,700?
10:54Is that what you say?
10:54Yes.
10:55Come on, I'm doing business with you.
10:58It's gone very, very well.
10:59Thank you, Andrew.
11:00It was just beautiful.
11:04Next day, back at the ranch, our resident cowboys are chomping at the bit.
11:11This is fantastic.
11:13Well, that's the star of the show, I think.
11:15Yeah, because it's from America, there's no rust on it at all.
11:18It's only showing 6,000 miles, which probably is original.
11:22I think it is.
11:22It's a gorgeous little bike.
11:23I love these things.
11:24Bottom line is, we'll get that going, hopefully.
11:27Now, the Montessa, I've bought that for two reasons.
11:30One, because I think there's a tickle in it, and two, because, Al, you can throw yourself
11:34against the countryside again.
11:36If it's got a spark, it'll go.
11:37Yeah.
11:38Can I draw your attention, finally, to this lovely thing?
11:42So, I picked it up for 200.
11:44200, I reckon, 450.
11:46I love it.
11:47It's going to be very, very difficult to sell that.
11:50So, look, marvellous.
11:51The sun is shining on the righteous.
11:52Let's get a Honda going.
11:53First task, remove the seat to swap the battery.
12:04These seats are very special.
12:06Yeah, why?
12:08Because they're springs, not foam.
12:10Oh, OK.
12:11Yeah, lovely.
12:11How cool is that?
12:12Very cool, isn't it?
12:13We can't find a fully charged battery, so, for the moment, Alan and Fuzz attach a power
12:19pack.
12:22So, we've got a back brake light.
12:23Yeah.
12:24Oh, right, wow.
12:25We've got a horn.
12:26Indicators flash.
12:27So, we're going to give it a quick squirt at the easy start.
12:28Just see if it fires before you worry about ignition systems and condensers and things.
12:36Right, ignition's on.
12:43There must be petrol in the car, because that's running a bit longer than it goes on an easy
12:51step.
12:51Yeah, definitely so.
12:52This is utterly amazing.
12:54We should drain this tank, though, because we've smelt the fuel in it and it's rancid.
12:58Oh, is it?
12:58You've got a fair proper battery, as well, so you can't ride it with this battery, obviously.
13:00Yeah, yeah, no, I get that.
13:01I could go pillion out with that on my lap.
13:03You could, or Henry could run on behind.
13:04Yeah.
13:08Petrol has a shelf life of about six months, diesel a little longer.
13:12After that, it starts to break down and gum up the engine.
13:16But that's not the only problem.
13:20Turns out the fuel tap's blocked, so I'm going to remove it, clean it out on the bench and
13:24then put it back, and then when the tap's off, I can drain it properly.
13:29While Alan and Fuzz check the carbs, skid empties the tank, and I...
13:36Can I help in any way?
13:38No.
13:39No.
13:39Find out where I'm not wanted.
13:45All I'm going to do is flush all these tubes out on the fuel tap with some brake cleaner,
13:52because I can see a bit of sort of like a lump in that one.
13:55Get rid of that and put it back on the bike.
13:56Fifteen minutes later, the tank's back on.
14:02The fuel's been refreshed.
14:04Alan's fiddled with the carbs, and we're ready to go again.
14:10Oh, yeah!
14:11It's not ideal, but it's much better than it was.
14:21It's great, yeah, yeah.
14:22As we put the air filter on, it might make a difference.
14:23Yeah, and also, you know, give it a run.
14:27Which finally gives me something to do.
14:30It'll go first time.
14:33You watch.
14:34See you later.
14:35Bye!
14:38And away I go.
14:42Oh, it's all right.
14:43I think it's okay, man.
14:46Goes through the gears, all right.
14:47And I'll tell you what, for a little 175, it's pretty nippy.
14:57The CL175, to give it its full name, had a maximum speed of 100,
15:02and retailed at a mere $645 when first released.
15:07Today, it should be worth a lot more.
15:13Oh, yeah.
15:15What do you think?
15:16That's great.
15:17It's really nice.
15:18That sounds sweet from the back.
15:19It does.
15:20It handles, it puffles along, and it's excellent.
15:24Yeah.
15:24That's great.
15:25Really nice.
15:26I'll tell you what, for a 175, I think that's quite frisky.
15:32The following morning, we move on to our other bike, the Montessa.
15:37The good news is that, as Andrew promised, it's in decent running order.
15:43Alan and Fuzz fit a couple of new tank bolts,
15:45and then we decamp to my paddock to test if it's as rugged as it looks.
15:50Okay, so this is the plan, right?
15:53Mill Ward is going to get on the Montessa.
15:57Yeah.
15:57And he is going to ride around, and someone is going to lie underneath this, like they did in the old days with the stumps.
16:07Alan takes a leap of faith over a human obstacle.
16:14Okay.
16:14All we've got to ascertain now is who that human obstacle might be.
16:19Okay, so what do you have to do?
16:21You have to lie underneath it.
16:22Yeah.
16:23Right, and then you just hold the board like that, and then Alan comes.
16:27And unbeknown to you.
16:29What?
16:29We had a straw poll earlier.
16:31Happy days.
16:34Also, we think we need a good angle, and that will help.
16:37So, forget a Zen pick.
16:42If you're in the stunt business, you've got to have guts, in every sense of the word.
16:48Oh, my God!
16:54Why did I come up with this idea?
16:56I think it might be about to happen.
17:07Oh, God!
17:08He's coming!
17:09He's coming!
17:10Now!
17:12Yes!
17:17Do you want another one?
17:18No, I don't.
17:19Come on, you'll be all right.
17:21How was that?
17:21As you were coming towards me, I thought, goodnight.
17:26I thought, my nose is just going to get flattened.
17:29My whole face.
17:30My false teeth are going to go ping everywhere.
17:33You did fly well.
17:34Oh, you didn't fall off?
17:35No.
17:35Oh, great.
17:36So, a major success all round.
17:38Hold on, while you're there, can I have a go?
17:40What?
17:41Are you out of your head?
17:42Okay.
17:42Come on, then, mate.
17:43Oh, you're all right.
17:45What you could do, though, why don't we put some bricks under there and we'll all have a little jump?
17:48Yeah, let's have a go.
17:49Yeah, yeah.
17:50Great.
17:50I'm happy to do that.
17:51Well done.
17:52That was very brave of you.
17:53Well done, Al, as well.
17:56The Montessa Cotter was a very successful competition bike in the 60s, known for its toughness and handling.
18:03It's easy to manoeuvre and perfect for jumping.
18:08Yes.
18:09Yes.
18:09That looked pretty good.
18:10Yes.
18:13How was it?
18:14I was slightly trepidatious about accelerating up the ramp, but once I did it, that was great.
18:21Great.
18:21Great.
18:21All right, skid up.
18:23Ready?
18:23Yeah, go on, son.
18:24Skid and fuzz are not going to threaten Evel Knievel's crown, but on Montessa, it's a hell of a lot of fun.
18:36That's fantastic.
18:42Yeah, hey.
18:43Oh, that's brilliant.
18:44That's copper air.
18:45Yeah, man.
18:52Mate, that was unbelievable, wasn't it?
18:54Yeah, that was fantastic.
18:55Yeah, I was a little bit out of line.
18:56I was worried at one point.
18:57I nearly aborted.
18:58You flew perfectly straight and level as well, both wheels parallel to the ground.
19:00Yeah, very lovely.
19:01Oh, great.
19:02Top, top.
19:02Fantastic, boys.
19:03Now all we've got to do.
19:04Well done.
19:04Well done, everyone.
19:05Thank you, Fros.
19:06Okay, so you two have done a jump.
19:08Take hands out.
19:08Al's run me over.
19:10I think, basically, before we go any further, we need to flog this.
19:14Yeah, I think we should put it away while it's in one piece and working beautifully.
19:17Definitely.
19:18Because this will only end in tears if we carry on.
19:20I've got to tell you, I'd properly impress with you two.
19:23And I have to say that those shock absorbers are great.
19:25Two days later, Paul pops round for a gander.
19:37Now look, Paul, I know you're after a 21st birthday present for Jamie, your son.
19:42I am.
19:43I thought that might be quite nice.
19:44It runs really nice, mate, honestly.
19:46It's nearly as you described it.
19:48Why?
19:48What do you mean by that?
19:49A few little broken bits and, you know.
19:53No, no, well, yeah, but that's just patina, mate.
19:55It's free-loved.
19:56Right.
19:57Yeah.
19:57Obviously, that will be reflected in the price.
20:00£1,200.
20:01Well, how about £9,99.99?
20:05No, no, no.
20:06It's not a special offer at Woolies.
20:08Why don't we go £1,099.99p just to make you feel better?
20:17Yeah.
20:17I do like the ability to say to my wife that it was under £1,100.
20:23Come on.
20:23I'll see, mate.
20:24Yeah, good luck.
20:25Come on, Paul.
20:26That's it.
20:26I'll tell you what, we'll even let you off the 99p.
20:29Oh, thank you very much.
20:29Exactly.
20:30We'll have it delivered, as always.
20:32Jamie will love it.
20:33Yeah.
20:33Yeah, and Guy will drop it around.
20:34Brilliant.
20:39Cheers, mate.
20:41Cheers, Paul.
20:43That's all right.
20:44Hey, look, we don't make massive money off Paul.
20:46No.
20:47But he's just a reliable punter.
20:48Do you know what I mean?
20:49Well, that's good.
20:49So the whole thing was £2,700 when you bought everything together.
20:55Okay, so that is £1,100.
20:56Yeah.
20:57So you've still got £1,600 to clear.
20:59Oh, mate.
21:00Look, we definitely get £2,000 for that motorbike, that Honda.
21:03Okay, there we are.
21:04Right.
21:04And then there's the sign as well.
21:06The sign's £300.
21:07Really good.
21:07How much is that?
21:08£700.
21:09Is it?
21:09Yeah.
21:10So, hang on, that means we potentially...
21:13It makes £700.
21:15Yeah.
21:15I say potentially, but I think that's a definite.
21:18That's a good couple of days' work, isn't it, really?
21:19Yeah, great.
21:20Well, we just get Guy to deliver it.
21:22Yeah.
21:23He loves to ride a hat in a van.
21:25Yeah, cross-country.
21:25Cross-country.
21:26He could go off-roading now he's got air.
21:28Yeah.
