Watch this clip where a man records what he deems a sacred ancestral space preserved in the American Southwest.
Douglas Crawford from New York, USA, recorded this rare look inside a sacred Kiva at Aztec Ruins National Monument in New Mexico.
It is an underground ceremonial chamber that he believes was used by Ancestral Puebloans centuries ago.
Douglas explains: “That is a sacred Kiva located in Aztec Ruins National Monument in Aztec, New Mexico.
“It was occupied by ancient Puebloans and misnamed by early settlers.
“It has nothing to do with Aztec culture, but the name stuck.”
