00:00European leaders are walking a tightrope.
00:03The US has intervened in Venezuela, seizing leadership and oil, and is now making threats
00:08against Greenland, part of Denmark and NATO.
00:11At the same time, Europe still relies on US support to counter Russia and Ukraine, when
00:16the war shows no sign of letting up.
00:19If the United States would invade Greenland, that would change the picture.
00:31You know, Denmark is a member of NATO, Greenland is part of Denmark, so that would create a
00:39conflict with the NATO, and that would be, would complicate things extremely.
00:47So for sure, the Europeans have to finally find their own way to define their military strength
01:02and to be more, or to be less dependent on the United States.
01:11That's an important point we have to see in Europe.
01:15He also warned ongoing tensions could push the world toward a dangerous arrangement, with
01:20major powers carving out spheres of influence.
01:24I think we could face a situation where these three big powers, the United States, Russia
01:36and China, somehow say, OK, America for the US is in Europe, Russia, Asia for the Chinese.
01:51And we don't interfere in activities of one or the other.
01:59And that's, I think, is really a dangerous development.
02:03So the present situation really leaves many, many questions open, but I'm not extremely optimistic.
