00:09race and there's only one goal left and that's to win it nobody will ever know what to expect
00:20going to their first Dakar and it was the same case for us you build up sort of an idea in your
00:26head but nothing can prepare you for for what you're about to face never not once that I think
00:34of giving up it was all of the things that have happened so far and not just in the Dakar in my
00:40career before this and in this season even it's all motivation there is one of two choices either
00:49you back down or you you get up again and you go back stronger so there's never been a point where
00:54I thought I'm going to stop we're going to go flat out for it last year was was our best showing so far
01:03we got up to to speed quite quickly right in the beginning we were leading the race and leading it
01:10for a long time we got close but not close enough one of the closest I think the closest finish in
01:18Dakar history but I'm still second is the first loser so it doesn't matter to come up that short it's sad I
01:25think it takes you a while to process the the feelings or the emotions or to process the moment
01:33in the in the beginning I mean the first few years I was happy just to be there and happy to fight with
01:42the best in the world over time your your goals shift your your goals change and I think not to
01:50sound spoiled to anything but you get used to the the the podium positions and the the lower positions
01:55and those those are nice but there's only one position that really matters if you're going there
02:03to compete and other than previous years previous years we were we were gaining experience and this year
02:09we're going there to compete it's the same goal for everyone and that makes it that makes it even
02:14better
