00:00My name's Carl Sells and I'm 39. My name is Craig Sells, I'm 37 and this is our first Dakar.
00:12We watched videos and it was always the dream to come and race. Yeah, it's always been in our blood.
00:18I sent Carl a text message saying, I'm going to put an entry into Dakar and then he said, you're not going without me.
00:23Our first Port of Cornwall was our dad and he said exactly the same thing. We said, we're going to race the Dakar rally and he said, not without me.
00:33So yeah, it's a family affair.
00:36One day, one day and it's here.
00:40Ready to go.
00:42Look, this is what it means. Yeah, it's goosebumps.
00:47It's, it's emotional because it's so proud of the guys to achieve what they have.
00:58When the track or the piece opens a little bit, it's quite nice because we can get up alongside each other and kind of ride side by side.
01:04And it's really cool to look over and see your brother there and he's, you know, it's, it's really good.
01:09Just as we go over the dune together, you know, it's really cool feeling.
01:13It's, it's lonely out there if you're by yourself. So as brothers, if we're together, then if we have a problem, it's a problem shared.
01:24It's going to be tough, but we've got each other. So yeah.
01:28This is Dakar.
01:31It's great to ride the sand dune, see the landscape, ride through an amazing country and then come back to see dad and in the support truck and very tough stage.
01:41I'm sort of, uh, the team, the team captain. I just have to make sure that everybody is doing everything.
01:52We know it's going to be no sleep. It's going to be very tiring. Maybe at some time we'll say, why, why, why, why are we doing this?
02:00But then you pick up and then punch through and go again.
02:03I want to make sure that I can do everything in my power to make their dreams come true.
02:15We're not professional riders. We just, our dream is to come and compete in the Dakar and finish the Dakar.
02:21So just to see the guys finish the Dakar and I was able to give them that. It's emotional. Yeah. You know what I mean? It is.
02:31We've made a plan and we're going to stick to our plan and we're going to finish the Dakar rally together.
02:35There's no words to, to the feeling proud, um, fortunate, thankful. Yeah. All of these things. Lucky. Lucky. Very, very lucky. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
02:49We'll see you next time.
