00:00Now to Europe, where Denmark is drawing a very firm line.
00:06The country's prime minister is urging President Trump to stop talking about taking over Greenland,
00:12calling the rhetoric dangerous, unnecessary, and flat-out wrong.
00:16In a blunt public statement, Danish Prime Minister Mete Fredriksen said the United States has no right to annex Greenland,
00:23reminding Washington that Greenland is part of the Kingdom of Denmark and a NATO ally.
00:28She stressed that the U.S. already has wide military access to Greenland through existing defense agreements
00:34and that Denmark has poured billions into Arctic security.
00:38Then came the warning, quote,
00:40I would therefore strongly urge the United States to stop the threats against a historically close ally
00:45and against another country and another people who have said very clearly that they are not for sale.
00:52The pushback follows renewed talk from Trump about annexing Greenland.
00:55In an interview with The Atlantic on Sunday, the president said the territory could be subject to U.S. intervention,
01:02insisting, quote,
01:03We do need Greenland, absolutely.
01:06It also follows a provocative social media post over the weekend from MAGA podcaster Katie Miller,
01:11showing a U.S. flag draped over the island captioned,
01:15Soon.
01:16Denmark's ambassador to Washington fired back,
01:19reminding the U.S. that Greenland is already covered by NATO's security guarantees.
