00:04Useful run out in terms of minutes and looking at different things there?
00:07Yeah, I think so.
00:08Look, we haven't done much in the Christmas period
00:10because it's fallen not well for training sessions, etc.
00:13and then losing the game today.
00:15So, really, it was just getting out there
00:17and blowing a few cobwebs off for sure.
00:20We were able to work on a couple of things
00:21because they brought something slightly different.
00:23We knew that that would happen and that was what we were looking for.
00:26So, yeah, no, really pleased with it, to be honest.
00:28And managed to obviously rest up players
00:30who obviously I guess would have played if the league game had been on
00:33and just sort of managed that side of things as well.
00:35Yeah, so there was four or five lads that we probably spoke to
00:37and went, you probably don't need to be involved
00:39and it gave us an opportunity to bring four lads out of
00:42what is the under-18s group in today.
00:44We all played a minimum of 25 minutes in this
00:48and impacted the game when they came on
00:49and looked pretty comfortable in and around the group.
00:51So, again, another positive and we'll take any positive we can at a minute.
00:56The performances have been good, to be honest.
00:58And like that game, we felt we needed to get a goal quickly after half-time
01:03because we'd missed two big chances in the first half to probably kill the game off.
01:08But we'd done that and then, as I say, we looked to get on the front foot
01:12with the youngsters coming on because they wanted to impress
01:14and they'd done exactly that.
01:15A few experienced lads just sort of holding things together.
01:18So, yeah, no, it's pleasing and just good to get together.
01:21Yeah, 2-0 at half-time and then you got that third straight after just as you wanted
01:25and then obviously a couple more at the end just to round it off really.
01:27Yeah, I think, again, when the game gets to that sort of 60-70 minute mark in a friendly,
01:32it's a bit stretched and it's not really relevant to how a proper game would be played out.
01:37But even still, you know, to keep creating chances is what we did
01:42and not concede many chances.
01:44I mean, the goal we've conceded is a worldy 35-yard strike, topped corner.
01:49But I said I'd like to have defended it better before that
01:53and we've still got to be critical of certain things
01:56and that was probably not good enough today,
01:58but the rest of it was pretty professional the way we did.
02:02And how's the squad looking at the moment, sort of injury-wise, numbers-wise?
02:06Yeah, it's tight, it's tight.
02:08We are on the edge of sort of filling a squad each week
02:12in terms of not the fact that we can't go to the 18s and get them.
02:16We're quite happy with them and, again, that's why we've done this today.
02:19But, you know, certain areas we're just a little bit light in
02:24and we're trying to do stuff about it, but there's only so much you can do.
02:28You can talk to people and people showing interest great.
02:31They don't move on and worry about who you have got, not who you haven't got.
02:34Obviously, now a full week to prepare for a nice test at home
02:37against the league leaders Cobham on Saturday.
02:39Yeah, so train Tuesday, Thursday this week and we've got a lot to do,
02:43but this gave us a good platform to build off
02:45and gave us some areas that we want to work on.
