00:00as the teams come out here for the second 45 and that man Ashley Haye is the difference
00:07between the two sides at the break although Dundee may have been scratching their heads
00:13if they had gone down the Tanadice tunnel at the break without a goal it was Haye that grabbed it
00:19for them but Kometio with a couple of chances and Ashley before Haye could have given the dark
00:26blues of Leeds United have had a few chances but they'll be rather frustrated as Jim Goodwin
00:32snarls really at his side Ross Graham is on for the second half
00:38bringing you up to date with those changes in a moment or so but Ross Graham were with the
00:44captain's armband and Callum Brown onside Stuart Lovell for this one Stuart pretty poor first
00:52half from a Dundee United perspective and you know their their neighbours across the street
00:57will be delighted with how things have gone so far as Fatah gets us underway for the second half
01:01I think United started the game well enough but over the piece there was more composure and more
01:09I think clarity of thought in terms of how Dundee United Dundee approached this I should say
01:13and in terms of clear-cut chances there's absolutely no I mean if anything 1-0 probably
01:17flatters Dundee United but one thing I would say is we were talking about you know who Jim Goodwin
01:24might be bringing on I was actually looking attacking options but he clearly wasn't happy with
01:29the contribution of his three centre-halves because he's brought Ross Graham into the mix
01:34and well Ferry with the long throw and flicked on and Sapsford a decent opportunity doesn't hit the
01:44target this time goes well over in the end but Ferry again causing problems with that long throw
01:50yeah I mean long throws are on vogue again aren't they because even if your your own player doesn't
01:57win the header it's it's about the second ball that counts Sapsford with the good movement just
02:02getting across his man couldn't keep the shot down well interesting to bring you up to that up to
02:07date with that change it's Bert Esselink who's made way it's a straight swap for Ross Graham who's
02:15taking the captain's armband from Will Ferry so Esselink who sure was involved in the would have to say
02:22mistake for the goal up against Hayt he has replaced the Dutchman by Ross Graham club captain
02:28he's back from injury after coming off here against the Bernier a couple of weeks ago
02:38followed by Jones but out the way by Jovi Stephenson lets it bounce under a bit of pressure from
02:46Jones but forward again if I look at Stephenson okay hasn't been in the game as much as he'd have
02:53liked to have been the midfielder by trade Stephenson playing it to right wing back this afternoon
03:01well I think you're right Callum I mean it's it's it's you know which players are you wanting to be on
03:07the ball as often as possible they haven't got the ball into the you know United playing with the front
03:12three but they haven't got it into their feet at all and and Will Ferry who was magnificent
03:17against Livingston the other night non-existent his ball in there wasn't his best
03:24and Dundee will come away with the ball through Yogan who's a very good first half
03:31which we did that opportunity for Astley in the opening half an hour or so here's Kamana
03:42looks frustrated with his teammates the Guinea-Bissau international
03:50there's Craig Sibold threads one through to Fata who look to isolate himself
03:551v1 against Astley Congreve gets back well but Sibold has supports from Ferry
04:03Ferry's delivery was left by Jones Stephenson will get it on the opposite flank now for Kamara
04:12the spot it's a weight by Zanza
04:20you'll get for hey Joswell was great
04:26you'll get it on the opposite flank now for the first half but Dundee
04:39you know have the leads could win back-to-back
04:44Derby's at Sanity's for the first time since May 1999 and here is he
04:50Dundee is full of confidence after his goal
04:54Congreve cuts in sight twists and turns and he's beyond Koreshdes here into the box
05:00looking for Hay and United clear their lines in the end but Dundee again looking extremely
05:06threatening as United come forward themselves now through Fata but the offside flag up on the first
05:13side and this is the contrast isn't it because the plays in the final third Dundee are getting the
05:21the ball into Yogan who's been terrific in the first half and Congreve on the other side
05:26Fata just goes too early runs in the channel
05:30and his movement is obviously he's putting himself in the position for ferry to find him but
05:35Congreve at the other end whenever he goes 1v1 as he did here
05:40you fancy him to put himself into an area and it's actually just at that stage it's pinball
05:44you know defenders are in a very vulnerable position United get lucky there to manage them to clear their lines
05:55Congreve will try to win this back off Ferry who shows behind
06:00for the goal kick the dark blues unbeaten in the last three derbies
06:04here at Tanadise United's last derby victory on home soil coming in September 2021 Ian Harkes with the late winner
06:14that day and I mentioned decent record in the the last three for Dundee of course the victory here in March last season but
06:22still it's only two wins in the last 21 trips to Tanadise seven defeats but 12 derbies ending in a draw here
06:31victory in March last season a 2-1 win in 2004 under Jim Duffy
06:42but a chance for back-to-back derby wins for the D
06:46for the D for the first time since May 1999 here at Tanadise
06:53Stevenson for waters blocked by Kimetio
06:58reach back to Sybil now who tees it
06:59oh for camera
07:03Yovu for Stevenson again
07:07Dundee look like they're just happy to
07:10let United have it
07:11Yovu coming forward Sapsford
07:15let it run I think perhaps thinking he was offside but he he didn't appear to be
07:19it was nowhere near offside and I thought it was very good play by Yovu just plays and goes
07:23and then clips it in the perfect pass I thought for Sapsford absolutely perfect pass for him
07:27just gave up on it it was absolutely bizarre and I think that you know there's going to need to be an
07:33element of risk and reward football from Dundee United to get back in the game because
07:37one thing we've seen with Dundee they are going to be more than happy to keep the game in front of
07:41them here on the counter because they've got they've got the pace in the key areas
07:44the area lapse of concentration from Zach Sapsford has been excellent this season
07:54this is his arrival from a league side western Sydney Wanderers
08:05perhaps if he keeps that form up he could be eyeing up call up to the world cup squad for
08:09the Aussies there's Fata give it back to Kereshtes he's going to drop here for camera and Kereshtes
08:17getting in the way of his own teammate there inadvertently
08:22connected with all of the ball in this opening seven or so minutes of the second half
08:30Stephenson flicks on Sapsford got there it's waters now
08:33camera for Sipult Kereshtes hard to shoot does shoot he deflects behind for the corner
08:45the fact that Kereshtes picks up the ball that close to the box tells you I talk about risk and reward but
08:52Kereshtes for most of the first half was playing on the halfway line so they're clearly going to play
08:57with their you know to truck they're going to Dundee United going to try and press the game in Dundee's
09:03half and try and win the ball back and just put the D under pressure
09:10dangerous delivery in but it's by Dre writes Fata will get to it before Dandero
09:18brilliant from Amar Fata driving into the box but Kumetio clears the first time of asking
09:25I mean it's great wing play isn't it first of all you know two players around him and he beats him
09:31easily enough and he's delivery into the box again poor by his high standards camera though
09:39across come shots in the end ends up behind John McCracken's goal but United probing here
09:46well there's pressure but the final ball that they've had and I'm going to say for pretty much the whole
09:50game I mean you can see what he's trying to do but even Fata before that when he did the great ground
09:56work Callum to get into an area but you've got to stand the ball up and lift it you know you've got to
10:01take people like Kumetio out the game so you've got to lift it up and over you've got to be hitting
10:05fast stick because you know that will ferry is going to be getting in at the far side you're going to have
10:09bodies in the box you've just got to miss the front man
10:15Dundee United won't want it beaten here by their rivals Dundee
10:24pretty good run of form momentum with them but playing like a sides
10:30that isn't on a five match unbeaten run at the minute as Stevenson comes forward now though
10:35they begin to grow in this second half dealt with by McCracken really good play by Stevenson and
10:42that was the type of ball that I was talking about Callum you get to the byline lift it take it up and
10:47over I mean he would have been well within his rights to think that Will Ferry would have been
10:51coming in at the fast stick but it was a great delivery from Lucas Stevenson
10:54well it had been seven without a win for Dundee United until they're fantastic
11:032-1 victory here against Celtic coming from behind to win that one
11:10but it has seen a much needed upturn in form of the Terrors now unbeaten in five but
11:15that's run of form in jeopardy thanks to Steven Presley's Dundee as you mentioned Stewart it was
11:23a pretty difficult run of matches too just one defeat in their last eight now
11:29for United prior to today of course in jeopardy of losing that run as well but feature draws with
11:37Motherwell Rangers Aberdeen and Hibbs but too many draws is what Jim Goodwin has said
11:42this season 10 in the Premiership before today the most of any side and half of their matches drawn
11:50as Ferry looks for Waters you can see that you can see that Kamara had said to Waters to leave it
11:59and Waters is saying I didn't hear you but I love this cutback this is the ball all defenders get
12:04attracted to the six yard line and Will Ferry recognizes that if he dummies that for his mate if
12:09you watch closely you can see Kamara is wanting him to dummy it because he's got a free shot from
12:14the middle of the goal 15 yards out Waters says I didn't hear you
12:19Will Ferry though a player you flagged up in the first half for his fantastic performance at
12:24Livingston starting now to to find a bit more space on that left-hand side
12:30well these are the players you know you look in Dundee United's lineup and you look at the players who
12:36who are going to be influential you know you I mean Will Ferry picked up every play of the year award
12:41going for Dundee United last season rightly so in my opinion he's the guy that you want on the ball in
12:46the final third delivering balls into dangerous areas Vata for Sybilt and Kereshtes slips one into Craig
12:58Sybilt quick thinking from Graham who steps in behind with the corner much better again well there's more
13:06attacking intent to Dundee United's play and what we're seeing is we didn't see Craig Sybilt make any of
13:11these runs in the first half but needs must it's a lovely threaded pass into him they get a corner
13:17out of it but I think it shows you the intent from Dundee United that they're not going to sit back and
13:21take this defeat the terrors come out of the blocks flying in the second half
13:30no real huge clear-cut chance it must be said as of yet but they are threatening have a decent opportunity
13:43in this corner you look at the height there of Ross Graham who came on from the bench dangerous
13:48delivery into the box Stevenson was there and it hits him though and goes behind for the goal kick
13:53such a big part of the game now isn't it your team doesn't necessarily need to play the opposition
14:01off the park they're looking to put this into an area it's just not quite enough on it I would always
14:06want that ball to be delivered into an area where it's in between the sticks
14:09I think Steven Presley will just be looking for his
14:38players to get an element of control which they found after about 15 minutes of the first
14:43half and maintained it through to half time
14:52just shy of an hour plates
14:55and a change for Dundee United it's Max Waters making way
15:00Christian Trapanovski will come on it's a bit of a hammer to Dundee last season two goals and two
15:13separate Derby's last term opening day two all draw last season and the 4-2 March defeats
15:20to get to score in the winning Derby but can't the North Macedonian make an impact from the bench
15:29Stum do you have it here with Jogant looking to twist and turn again another decent delivery
15:38Graham got it away Sibold only as far here as Jones blocked and it'll fall for Hay swept away
15:45by the legs of Richards and behind for the Dundee corner first bit of pressure for Dundee and it's
15:53a lovely touch here by Jones onto his left peg hits it nicely deflects very kindly if Hay makes good
16:00contact on that I think he scores it's a really good strike and he's already on his bike and ready to
16:06follow in it just it's probably a little bit high up for him and he can't quite get enough purchase
16:12on it again with the effort from the corner swung a leg at it off target in the end not troubling
16:22Richards this time but it was another decent Congreve delivery
16:29yeah just not quite enough on it for me as I say I always look for those corners to be put in with
16:33pace but in between the sticks but encouraging signs for Dundee who haven't really come out of
16:39the traps in the second half but I do think this game is absolutely set up for them on the counter
16:46because of the pace they've got through the middle and with the two wingers
16:51it's just a bit of rotation now in that Dundee United forward line as trapping off skis come on
16:58he'll play sort of left channel fat has come out to this right hand side now and it'll be sapsford
17:05through the middle with waters going off
17:09perhaps that slightly disappointing first taste of the Dundee derby for max waters who missed the august
17:18derby through injury he has been out for a fair chunk of the season started really well with a couple of goals
17:27here against rapid Vienna a goal in that away leg in Austria as well and at Falkirk to start the
17:32season but he's yet to score since the opening day in the Premiership and that will continue
17:38for the English striker well I was a little bit surprised Callum that they didn't start with
17:42Trapanovski who I thought was a real threat against Livy the other night and and one thing he has got is
17:48pace he is going to force Dundee's back four to drop deeper because if they leave this space in behind
17:55you know he is he is lightning fast yeah Jim Goodwin revealing
18:00through the week joked that he wasn't on Trapanovski's Christmas card list
18:07Trapanovski's been back from injury for a number of weeks
18:11he's been biding his time for his opportunity
18:13Trapanovski what can he do from the bench here's yoga dangerous delivery headed away only as far as
18:22Jones who puts back into the danger zone
18:24Sibold who hooks away now Graham got there first but Stevenson trying to pounce on it with the
18:33through ball to Sapsford it's just over hit though
18:37yeah good intention you could see what uh Stevenson was trying just had a little bit too much on it
18:44other end of the pitch so great wing play again from Jogan who's been a real threat for Dundee
18:49down that left-hand side and he's showing great confidence whenever he gets one-on-one
18:54camera it's been much better in the second half
18:59Trapanovski spreads it way to Stevenson
19:01Sibold
19:04Sibold urge to shoot does shoot he's got a strike in him from distance as does Koreshnes
19:11way wide in the end the Hungarian trying his luck
19:19yeah that's a little bit too far out for me
19:22I mean dearie me you're talking 45 yards and you're not even set but brilliant defensive work there
19:29by Ethan Hamilton full stretch making sure that he's stopping a shot on target
19:43well returning Finn Robertson is going to come on here no stranger to the Dundee derby he replaces
19:52Callum Jones in midfield
19:57Dundee academy graduate over 100 appearances for the club
20:06the sixth derby appearance for him in his first way back in December 2019 and a one-all draw here at
20:13Tanadice Sapsford up against Graham so away by Robertson his first involvement the interception there
20:22nicely done from camera for Trapanovski
20:26blocked by Astley
20:28and Congreve
20:30I was going to say will clear but he's done well to hold on to it and try to make something from it on the break
20:35and he colliding with Koreshnes
20:43Sebeld now for Ferry
20:46looks for options finds Trapanovski who tries to cut it back
20:50it's not coming off for Dundee United it's
20:57Jim Goodwin's side who are finding themselves in plenty of dangerous positions but it's
21:01it's that final ball that's not come off for them
21:03I've got ready for Wild grey out of it he's part of it
21:06now for Wild Ferri once again he's becoming a danger man in the second half
21:13Kometi who got up well, McCracken attempts to prevent the corner, has he?
21:28I don't think he has.
21:30Well we'll get a great look at it here, I mean that's never out isn't it?
21:34It didn't look out in real time and that hasn't even crossed the line even partially,
21:38bizarre decision by the linesman there, I mean you don't want to be guessing in that situation
21:42wasn't even close to being over, can you imagine if Dundee United score with the evidence that we've just seen there?
21:50It could be some controversy ferry for Kereshtes, Jovi was waiting at the far post
21:56but once again the Hungarian involved in an attacking sense, but United can't convert.
22:01I think this is why Dundee have got to be careful in terms of giving away set pieces in their own final third
22:10particularly corners because the delivery that Dundee United have tends to be top quality and they're a very physical side,
22:16they've got a lot of height, huge amount of height in their side to be a threat from any attacking set pieces.
22:24Wack from Robertson, unable to win the corner in the end.
22:40More threat from United generally that's what this second half has felt like but I've seen this film a million times before
22:56and the team that's got the lead and is able to absorb pressure is Dundee
23:02and invariably you imagine at some point they're going to have opportunities when they, if they can break fast.
23:12Ferry keeps it in on the left, gets it beyond Congreve, it's Ferry, tries to cut it back, wins the corner again.
23:20And Tanadice getting behind their team, the Arabs haven't had a lot to shout about this afternoon.
23:30They are hoping for a late comeback in this one, find themselves one down.
23:38Last month here against Celtic, came back to win 2-1.
23:42What can they do from this corner? Ferry with the dangerous ball in.
23:46Graham was forward but it's hooked away once more.
23:50Stevenson, Sibold, Ferry once again will be the target.
23:54He'll put this cross into the box.
23:56He got away by Astley and then launched forward by Hamilton.
24:04Credit where it's due though, Dundee have defended set pieces and crossed balls really well.
24:16Another header one there by Astley this time.
24:20Stevenson just come in the pitch.
24:23A bit more.
24:25There's Trapanovski who's made a difference from the bench.
24:29Has cut back for Camara.
24:31Blocked. Stevenson there.
24:33And his attempt blocked as well.
24:35Karashtes now for Ferry.
24:37Trapanovski once more.
24:39Looking to cause problems.
24:41Finds Sibold.
24:43Camara.
24:45Looks for support, finds Jovo.
24:49All into a dangerous area but Luke Grail stands for him.
24:51A mix of Graham Astley and Cametio.
24:57They've all defended with aplomb so far this afternoon.
25:03But still plenty of time for United in this derby.
25:07It was Ferry.
25:09Whips into the box.
25:11Fatah was coming in at the far post.
25:13Saps were putting Danda under pressure but Dundee can breathe a bit of a sigh of relief.
25:21As they try to weather this United storm.
25:23Two great balls into the box from the left-hand side.
25:25All the good play for United.
25:27This was Trapanovski showing his pace.
25:29Clips a ball fast stick.
25:33It's actually a good volley initially.
25:35By Camara.
25:37But this is what he's doing well.
25:39Camara I'm sure his eyes would have been lighting up at this stage.
25:41Hits it pretty well to be fair to him.
25:43I think it's his own man as well.
25:45Yes.
25:46He was unlucky because it was definitely going on target.
25:49And there we can see the match stats in this one.
25:59And Dundee United now starting to edge possession.
26:01They've had more shots now.
26:03More on target.
26:05Something that Jim Goodwin could maybe point to.
26:08At full time if his side aren't to come away with anything from the game.
26:13But certainly those stats suggesting, Stewart, that United are growing in this game.
26:17It feels like that.
26:19It feels like a goal is coming.
26:21These are the areas that they're really starting to press.
26:25Trapanovski's ball then.
26:27It's headed away by Wright.
26:29Stevenson was there.
26:30What a stop from McCracken.
26:33That's an incredible save.
26:37I don't think we can either.
26:39Again, cuts back onto his right peg.
26:41Clips a lovely ball into the six-yard box.
26:47Camara.
26:49Camara.
26:50For Fata.
26:51Back to Pan Camara.
26:53That's another shot from distance.
26:55Some of the decision-making from United in the final third.
26:59Final third has been pretty poor.
27:01Dundee's hasn't.
27:02As Danda looks for Hay.
27:04Novo is comfortable there against the Dundee goal scorer.
27:10The difference-maker at the moment.
27:12Now Sybilt.
27:14Gave it away.
27:16Graham intercepting.
27:18It's really lightening up though now, isn't it?
27:21I think Dundee United are throwing the kitchen sink at it.
27:23As I said to you before.
27:25You know, threading the ball out wide.
27:27Getting into areas.
27:28This was the, this was the opportunity.
27:30Ball in.
27:31Pinball.
27:33Stevenson who hits it from six yards out.
27:35Hits the target.
27:36I mean, he does okay.
27:37Hits it down into the ground.
27:40Good hand though.
27:41Really good hand by John McCracken.
27:43Important save for Dundee.
27:44Yeah, he got down so well.
27:46Did John McCracken to deny.
27:48Look at Stevenson.
27:50Could have been a fifth goal of the season.
27:53For the on loan Liverpool man.
27:55Graham.
27:56Was excellently there.
27:59And he's coming through the academy.
28:01At Dundee.
28:03Since the age of 15.
28:05Look Graham.
28:06He's got the under-21 international.
28:08A great loan spell at Falkirk last season before coming back to the club.
28:12In January.
28:14He's really grown into his role.
28:17At the heart of the D defence.
28:20Here's Fata.
28:23Who won it.
28:24From Kometio.
28:25Amar Fata.
28:26Gets the ball out of his feet.
28:27Fata.
28:28For Sapsford.
28:29Excellent last-ditch defending again from Dundee.
28:33And Yuga.
28:34Draws the free kick.
28:35And takes a bit of pressure off his side.
28:36I thought.
28:37It was an awkward ball that was played forward by Dundee United.
28:38And I was just going to say to you.
28:39How well the two centre-halves for Dundee United.
28:40Had defended.
28:41But look how passive Dre Wright is here.
28:42I mean.
28:43That's a ball that you've got to win back.
28:44And it ends up.
28:45Just great feet from Fata.
28:46Last-ditch tackle.
28:47Danda bailing him out.
28:48But Dre Wright has an opportunity to make a tackle.
28:49Just watch it here.
28:50Dre Wright can take it off his foot.
28:51He just lets him.
28:52Drift past him into the box.
28:53He's so lucky that Danda has actually bailed his team-mate out.
28:56This is where I always worry about wingers.
28:58Get pulled back into play.
28:59I'm just going to say to you.
29:00I'm just going to say to you.
29:01How well the two centre-halves for Dundee United.
29:03Had defended.
29:04But look how passive Dre Wright is here.
29:06I mean.
29:07That's a ball that you've got to win back.
29:09And it ends up.
29:10Just great feet from Fata.
29:11Last-ditch tackle.
29:12Danda bailing him out.
29:13But Dre Wright has an opportunity to make a tackle.
29:15Just watch it here.
29:17Playing as full-backs.
29:19Full-backs.
29:20You know.
29:21Just really sloppy.
29:22Defending by Dre Wright.
29:23And it almost cost his team a goal.
29:28But Dundee change.
29:30As we watch that replay.
29:39And it is Mari Samuels.
29:41Has come on.
29:44Graham.
29:45Shields back.
29:46To his goalkeeper.
29:47To his goalkeeper.
29:51And just.
29:52Confirm who came off.
29:53In a moment or so.
29:55But it's Mari Samuels who is on.
29:59For Dundee.
30:00As they tried to see this one out perhaps.
30:02In an attempt to go.
30:05Forward themselves.
30:06Well, Dre Wright has gone out to right wing back.
30:08Looks to be.
30:09To me.
30:10Like a three-man defense now for Dundee.
30:11It's Cameron Congreve who has made way.
30:12So that would make sense.
30:13With Astley.
30:14Now being deployed.
30:15In a back three.
30:16Alongside Graham and Cometeo.
30:17And Mari Samuels.
30:18A left back by trade.
30:19Playing out at left wing back now.
30:20So Samuels.
30:21For Congreve.
30:22As the changes.
30:23We approach the final 15 minutes.
30:24Here at Tanadice.
30:25Dundee United now.
30:26Dundee won that goal.
30:27From Ashley Hay.
30:28At the end.
30:29Of the first half.
30:30Pretty much the.
30:31Final.
30:32Touch.
30:33Of the first 45.
30:34As.
30:35The dark blues.
30:36Leading.

31:26done very well in the last 15 minutes or so after coming off the bench
31:30here's Yogan driving forward looking to put this one out of sight for Dundee
31:36a second goal would surely kill it
31:38Dandas ball into the box, Hay was waiting
31:41just evades him in the ends
31:43it's a brilliant ball in isn't it
31:47if you just watch Yogan does ever so well
31:49if you just watch the movement of Ashley Hay
31:51does he think this is coming in
31:53the answer is definitely no he's not ready
31:55he's not as you would expect
31:57I mean I don't think it's a shot
31:59I think it's one of those balls just to feed in
32:01just tiny little bit too much pace for Ashley Hay
32:04definitely a cross there for me from Dandas
32:10it's a late one from Robertson
32:13he's supposed to get involved
32:15Derby starting to get a bit feisty
32:18no surprise one of the local lads involved
32:21knows exactly what this fixture means does
32:25Finlay Robertson
32:27yeah that ball I mean it's a good tackle does well there
32:31Ethan Hamilton
32:34Finn Robertson I think he's perfectly entitled to go for this ball
32:37it pops out
32:38Sibald and him go in for it
32:41claims for the corner here but it's going to be a goal kick
32:48you've mentioned Callum about the threat of Trapanovsky
32:52I was very surprised that he didn't start
32:53this was the challenge that we get to see
32:56it's not an awful lot in that is there
32:59it's really certainly not
33:01certainly wasn't worthy of the reaction from Craig Sibald
33:05but I think that Dundee have had
33:07Dundee United I should say have had a real threat down the left-hand side
33:11and very little on the other side
33:12so there's they're overbalanced
33:14almost like a pool table that's been lifted up
33:16all their best players down the left-hand side
33:18and now Dundee have actually
33:20they've thrown more bodies over there
33:22this is why I think they've gone to a back three
33:23just to give the full-back a little bit more cover
33:27they've matched them up so to speak
33:30it's been a
33:33brilliant performance from Stephen Presley's side
33:38they're on course
33:41as I keep saying
33:42for three successive Premiership victories
33:46for the first time since 2040
33:50comes a double change
33:55for Dundee United
33:57it's Amar Fata off
33:59he throws his gloves down
34:00in the dugout
34:01it's in frustration
34:02he's replaced
34:03by teenager
34:04Owen Sturter
34:06who started
34:08against Livingston on Tuesday
34:10he comes on
34:11from the bench here
34:13the 17th senior
34:16Dundee United
34:17appearance
34:19Boyhood
34:20United fan
34:21and
34:23Ivan
34:23Dolczyk
34:24also makes his way on
34:26interesting
34:34replacing
34:35Zach Sapsford
34:36who's gone off
34:37so two
34:39probably they're
34:40better players this season
34:41Zach Sapsford
34:43and Amar Fata
34:44not their days in front of goal
34:46plenty in reserve
34:50with Dolczyk
34:51and Sturten coming on
34:52the Derby debut
34:55for Owen Sturten
34:57and the man that
34:57scored
34:58across the streets
35:00and Dolczyk
35:03as Dre Wright
35:04drove forward
35:04there Dundee
35:05with a rare 40 forward
35:08in the second half
35:09it must be said
35:09but
35:10now United
35:12coming forward
35:14through Trapanovski
35:16oh I must apologise
35:20it's Zach Sapsford
35:21who's stayed on
35:22it's Yuri Yovu
35:23that's come off
35:23so it's a sign of intent
35:25from Jim Goodwin
35:27yeah this could be
35:29one of those old school
35:302-4-4 formations
35:31that Jimmy Calderwood
35:32used to love
35:33back in my day
35:34but
35:35I think that
35:36you know
35:37you want to try
35:38and make sure
35:39that you leave
35:39everything out there
35:40and
35:40you hear that
35:42from fans all the time
35:43I'd rather we get beat
35:43two or three
35:44rather than not have a go
35:45but
35:45no accusations
35:47can be levelled
35:48at Jim Goodwin
35:49that he's not having a go
35:50he's got a lot of
35:51attacking players
35:52on the pitch now
35:52with an error
35:57Sybil can't sort his feet out
36:01it's now Finn Robertson
36:03Robertson with the efforts
36:04looked like it was heading
36:06for that far corner
36:07but Richards got down well
36:09another string of errors
36:12though at the back
36:12for Dundee United
36:13they've made too many mistakes
36:16this afternoon
36:18at the back
36:20and they've not been
36:20clinical enough
36:21going forward
36:22and here they come through
36:24Stephenson Sapsford
36:25who is still on
36:28alongside Dolceik
36:32and starts it
36:33there's Jogant
36:36and Roscarea
36:37cynical
36:38but Jogant
36:39wriggles free
36:40and slips in
36:42Ashley Hay
36:42flag has stayed down
36:44for the time being
36:45he might have been off
36:46comes back to Danda
36:48Dre writes
36:50for Hamilton
36:51Robertson urge to shoot
36:52blocked
36:53and they need to get it away
36:55it's a late one
36:56from Kometio
36:57and starts it
36:58Dun Robertson
36:59that's the yellow card
37:01that will a breathless
37:01minute there
37:02end-to-end stuff
37:03I mean how good
37:04I mean how good has Jogant been
37:05today on the counter
37:06just showed Ross Graham
37:07a clean pair of heels
37:08and I thought the pass
37:09into Ashley Hay
37:10was terrific
37:10thought he could have
37:11hit it first time
37:12but that classic
37:14counter-attacking move
37:15that we knew
37:15Dundee would get
37:16Dundee would get it
37:17dropping off
37:17Kometio's ball
37:17and Dolceic is there
37:18Sturten puts himself
37:20about
37:20drops the camera
37:22and catches Robertson
37:24late
37:24and again
37:27the dark blues
37:30will breathe a sigh
37:31of relief
37:32as camera
37:32perhaps another
37:34bit of a flash
37:35point there
37:35I don't think
37:36he was happy
37:36with Robertson's
37:37reaction
37:37he was
37:38slightly late
37:39in the challenge
37:39camera
37:40starting putting
37:45himself about
37:45as well
37:46the boyhood
37:46Arab
37:47little card
37:50now
37:50for both
37:51camera
37:51and Grae
37:52Don Robertson
37:54has
37:55kept his cards
37:56in his pocket
37:57pretty much
37:58all afternoon
38:00three in the
38:01last minute
38:01or so
38:02well we've
38:03not had to
38:04talk about
38:04the referee
38:05which is always
38:05a good sign
38:06tells us that
38:07there have been
38:07no controversial
38:08decisions
38:09means we're
38:10talking about
38:10the players
38:10on the pitch
38:11which is what
38:12everyone wants
38:13but it's a
38:14Dundee derby
38:14you're going to
38:15expect there's
38:15going to be
38:15some physicality
38:16I mean it's
38:18just a body
38:19check
38:19I think that
38:22camera
38:22unsurprisingly
38:23is trying to
38:24win the ball
38:24back in the
38:25final third
38:25to try and
38:26get his team
38:27back in the
38:27game
38:27Sapsford
38:34looks to slip
38:36it through
38:36here for
38:37Trapanowski
38:37but Grae
38:38Williams across
38:38well
38:39Cybilt
38:47for Ferri
38:49and so Craig
38:51Cybilt
38:52going into the
38:55box
38:55starting in
38:57Sapsford
38:57were in there
38:58starting to mention
39:00a boyhood
39:00Dundee United
39:01fan says
39:02it would be a dream
39:04come true
39:05the best day of his life
39:06if he was to score in a Dundee derby
39:08getting his first derby appearance
39:12this afternoon
39:13can he perhaps make an impact
39:15off the bench
39:17as Steven Presley watches on
39:19he'll be happy with his sight
39:20well I'll tell you who he will be happy with
39:23his two centre halves
39:24Kometio and Luke Graham have been absolutely terrific
39:27they have stood firm
39:29they've held a good line
39:31balls into the box
39:33they have dealt with it
39:34really well throughout the match
39:36and they've been under a fair bit of stress in the second half
39:38Hamilton launches forward for Yogan
39:44nice flick looking for Robertson
39:46Dundee will settle for that throw
39:49and just try to
39:50maybe slow things down
39:52some of the cameo stuff from
39:55Yogan has been terrific
39:56I mean he's been
39:57a real problem for Dundee United
39:59that physicality and pace that he has
40:02and real composure on the ball
40:04it's been excellent today
40:06Samuels
40:08for Yogan
40:09the second goal for Dundee would surely kill it off
40:14but not with a pass like that
40:16as
40:16Dundee United come forward now
40:20approaching the final five minutes or so
40:23of this derby plus
40:24additional time
40:25United need a goal from somewhere
40:28Trapanovsky
40:31who's threatened to create
40:32puts a dangerous ball in
40:34Stevenson was there
40:35drops for Sapsford and away
40:36once again
40:38by Billy Comete
40:41will be frustrated with the
40:44couple of chances he missed in the first half
40:46but he's more than made up for it
40:48this defensive performance as the header
40:50from Dolceic
40:52as wide
40:53of McCracken's goal
40:54and you're going to do well to score ahead of there 15 yards out
40:57but Will Ferry doesn't stand on ceremony
41:01he's probably trying to pick out a spot somewhere between the penalty spot and the six yard box
41:05and it's just too far out for Dolceic
41:07to trouble the goalkeeper
41:09but they're sticking to the tried and tested method Dundee United which is basically slinging the ball out wide and getting the ball into the box and I think that this is why I compliment the two Dundee centre-halves so much
41:20they have dealt with everything that's been thrown at them with aplomb
41:24forward
41:27forward from McCracken
41:29Sybil
41:30slack pass but Ferry will keep it in
41:33to score for Dundee United as well Ferry but he's created plenty over the last season and a half
41:45in Tangerine
41:46and boy
41:47do those Dundee United fans want him
41:51to create something
41:53against their bitter rivals who leads at Tangerine
41:57getting into the final stages of this match
42:00it's into desperation territory for
42:03Dundee United as Trapanovsky's ball in is
42:06once again
42:07hooked away
42:08it's a late one
42:09from the North Macedonian on Hamilton
42:12the captain has been excellent in medfield he's led by example
42:17yeah they've had good legs in the middle of the park
42:21draws the foul there
42:24which he'll be delighted about because it gives his team a breather lets them squeeze up the pitch
42:29and I think this is where Steven Presley will be just looking for composure and calm heads
42:36because they've dealt with the threat that United have thrown at them pretty comfortably I would say
42:43all here from McCrackett
42:47looking for Yogan but
42:49runs into the gloves of his opposite number Dave Richards
42:53Kimetio again up very well
42:57camera will
42:58bring it down nicely though
43:00Ferry
43:03clicks forward
43:06started
43:07for Stevenson
43:09again another excellent challenge
43:11it's Kimetio who was in there
43:13behind for this
43:15throw in which
43:16Will Ferry might fancy taking
43:19but as it stands Ashley Hay
43:22on his Dundee
43:24Derby debut
43:26is the match winner
43:28with his goal
43:29on the stroke of half time
43:31Ferry
43:33with the long throw
43:35as United
43:36search
43:37for an equaliser
43:38Sapsford into the area
43:39Stevenson there
43:40but Graham
43:42shields it back to McCrackett
43:44as the clock ticks
43:47for the terrors
43:48swing
43:55yeah I mean you can't say that they haven't
44:03put a shift in for Jim Goodwin
44:06they absolutely have
44:06but I just think the know-how
44:08has come from Dundee
44:11and the understanding
44:14of
44:14I mean this game
44:16let's be honest
44:17this game has been won
44:18and lost
44:18in the
44:1915 minutes
44:21to 45 minutes
44:22in the first half
44:23Paul Digby
44:27is next on
44:28for Dundee
44:29he replaces
44:31fan favourite
44:32Jan Dander
44:33it's another
44:37Derby debutant
44:38in Paul Digby
44:39summer signing
44:40from Cambridge United
44:41has added
44:54perhaps three or four minutes
44:58but a rather quiet
45:01afternoon for the officials
45:03it must be said
45:04Don Robertson
45:04man in the middle
45:06and Nick Walsh
45:06on VAR
45:07yeah we haven't had
45:14any controversy
45:15to speak about
45:16which is
45:17which is a relief
45:18and a pleasure
45:18to be fair
45:19I think it's the first time
45:20I mention Nick Walsh's name
45:21which is always a good sign
45:22it is a good sign
45:23absolutely
45:24Jogan finding
45:26the substitute
45:27Digby
45:27just ran it out of play
45:30there
45:30there's the clock
45:32again
45:32still ticks down
45:34Ferry
45:41launches forward
45:44the slip
45:45from Dolce
45:46though
45:47Kometio
45:49clears up the pitch
45:51as the travelling fans
45:55serenade
45:56fan favourite
46:00Jan Danda
46:00forward come
46:02Dundee United
46:03now through
46:03Ivan Dolcek
46:05it's into the box
46:06Dolcek
46:07wins the corner
46:09you notice
46:13they're very quick
46:14to smother him
46:15they're shutting off
46:16the line
46:16they're shutting off
46:17inside
46:17three Dundee
46:18players around
46:19him
46:19that's what you get
46:20when in a game
46:21of this magnitude
46:22when a team
46:23is in front
46:23and has something
46:24to protect
46:25it's Dolcek's
46:27delivery
46:28and it away
46:30by Dre Wright
46:31into the first
46:3530 seconds
46:35of four
46:36additional minutes
46:37here
46:37that's Anadyce
46:39Ferry
46:42reception ball
46:44to Pura
46:46not happy
46:49about that one
46:50but
46:50those
46:52travelling fans
46:54are
46:54there's the dark
47:06blues
47:07full of salt
47:10cameras late
47:24already been
47:27yellow carded
47:28as Hamilton
47:29went down
47:30but it was just
47:30a missed time
47:34tackle
47:34from the midfielder
47:36Jim Goodman
47:37watches on
47:38looks extremely
47:39frustrated
47:40the Irishman
47:42there's actually
47:46no contact
47:47no that's
47:49what you call
47:49buying a free
47:51kick
47:51but they played
47:52with a fair
47:53degree of savvy
47:54Dundee
47:55I've never really
47:57felt like a goal
47:58has been coming
47:59other than maybe
48:00the half chance
48:02for Lucas Stevenson
48:03United have not
48:04created enough
48:05I don't think
48:06that they can
48:06point to
48:08the game
48:09and the chances
48:10created
48:10and say
48:11they've been
48:11unlucky
48:12we spoke
48:12at half-time
48:13about how many
48:13clear-cut chances
48:14Dundee missed
48:15I mean
48:15they could have
48:16been out of sight
48:17Dundee really
48:18could and should
48:19have been out of
48:19sight at half-time
48:20and 1-0
48:21and 1-0
48:21and 1-0 I think
48:22it probably flatters
48:24Dundee United
48:24if anything
48:25he could have been out of sight
48:33and he could have been out of sight
48:34driving forward
48:35shrugs off camera
48:36Tony Yoga
48:38goes down
48:40claims of a penalty
48:42he could have been out of sight
48:43waved away
48:44it was Koreshdez
48:45with the challenge
48:46nothing given here
48:48by Don Robertson
48:49as Ethan Hamilton
48:51takes that straight
48:53to the corner
48:53under pressure
48:55from
48:55Golcic
48:57and Kamada
48:57a free cap
48:59given against
49:00Ethan Hamilton
49:02here
49:02perhaps
49:05first mention
49:07of a contentious decision
49:08Yogan went down
49:09bit of contact
49:12yeah
49:12I thought it was very theatrical
49:14it didn't look like
49:15a natural fall to the ground
49:16he kind of chucked himself
49:17to the ground
49:17and if anything
49:18I would say
49:19he hung his own leg out
49:20to initiate the contact
49:22so
49:22absolutely
49:23with the referee there
49:24that that was not
49:25a penalty kick
49:26Kamada
49:32launches forward
49:34last chance
49:35Saloon
49:36for United
49:39but
49:39into the
49:40grateful gloves
49:42of McCracken
49:43as Stephen Presley
49:44watches on
49:46the clock ticking
49:47ten
49:48or so seconds
49:50remain
49:50Don Robertson
49:55with the whistle
49:57to his lips
49:58and Ashley
50:00Hay
50:00is the hero
50:01it is back
50:04to back
50:05Derby wins
50:07at Tanadice
50:08for Dundee
50:09for the first time
50:12since May
50:121999
50:13they beat
50:15their rivals
50:16again
50:17a superb
50:19start
50:19to 2026
50:21for that man
50:23Ashley Hay
50:23and his
50:24Dundee side
50:25Stephen Presley
50:28walks off
50:29but make no mistake
50:30he
50:31will be elated
50:32the first Derby win
50:34for him
50:35as Dundee
50:36boss
50:36and it is
50:38three consecutive
50:40premiership wins
50:41for the dark blues
50:43for the first time
50:44since 2014
50:45to add to it
50:47they've done that
50:48against
50:48their bitter rivals
50:50and Stuart Lovell
50:52there is nothing more
50:53than they've deserved
50:54I totally agree
50:55I totally agree
50:55Callum
50:55going into this game
50:56Dundee ranked
50:57bottom in the league
50:58for shots
50:59shots on target
51:00big chances
51:00created
51:01most games
51:02failing to score
51:03and they had
51:03a lamentable record
51:05on the road
51:06albeit this is about
51:07400 yards down the road
51:08but I thought
51:09they were great value
51:10for it today
51:11four clear cut chances
51:13in the first half
51:13they only managed
51:14to take one of them
51:15through that man
51:16Ashley Hay
51:16who I thought
51:16was terrific
51:17but they had
51:18if there were
51:19good players
51:20on the park today
51:21all of them
51:21were in dark blue
51:23I thought
51:23to a man
51:24they played really well
51:25and had discipline
51:27but also attacking threat
51:29it was a really
51:30complete performance
51:31and you know
51:33feather in the cap
51:34for Stephen Presley
51:35for turning their season
51:36around
51:36because they've won
51:37three games on the bounce
51:38as you mentioned
51:38and it really has changed
51:40the shape of the season
51:41for Dundee
51:42well what a win
51:44for Dundee
51:45we will have
51:46a look back
51:48at all the second half
51:49action
51:49in a moment
51:50or so
51:51but it is finished
51:52here at Tanadice
51:53Dundee United
51:54now
51:55Dundee won
51:56second half
51:58action to follow
