An Indian tourist was allegedly assaulted by a group of Thai transwomen on Pattaya’s Walking Street in the early hours of Saturday, December 27, reportedly following a dispute over payment for s*x services.

According to rescue officials, the Sawang Borriboon Dhammastan Foundation received an alert around 5.30 am about a foreign national being attacked near the entrance of Walking Street. Rescue workers rushed to the spot and found the injured man, later identified as 52-year-old Indian national Raj Jasuja, with injuries to his face and the back of his head.

The victim was given first aid at the scene before being shifted to Pattamakun Hospital for further medical treatment.

A local witness, 19-year-old Phongphon, told rescue workers that he saw the Indian man arguing with a transgender s*x worker near the entrance of Walking Street. The argument reportedly escalated into a physical altercation, following which the transgender woman allegedly called several associates, who then joined in and assaulted the tourist.

According to the witness, the dispute stemmed from a disagreement over payment, with the claim that the Indian man did not pay the full amount agreed upon for the service.

Police later told the We Love Pattaya Facebook page that the injured tourist would be asked to file a formal complaint once he recovers. Further legal action will be taken based on his statement and the findings of the investigation.

Authorities noted that similar incidents involving Indian tourists and transgender s*x workers have been reported in Pattaya in the past. In September, an Indian man was assaulted after allegedly touching a transgender woman inappropriately, while another incident in October involved two Indian nationals being attacked by transwomen following a dispute over service charges, with valuables reportedly stolen.

Police said investigations in the present case are ongoing.
