00:00All his research into the gate, how he created it, what it really is, I'm still deciphering it.
00:06Yeah, this shit'll fry your brain.
00:08Welcome to Ms. Mojo, and today we're looking at the long-standing questions that were and
00:13were not answered in the final season of Stranger Things. Major spoilers ahead for all five seasons.
00:20Because that makes no sense.
00:22And everything in this place makes sense.
00:26Relationships. Resolved.
00:27One of the first Stranger Things romances we see develop is the love triangle between
00:32Steve, Nancy, and Jonathan.
00:34Nancy Wheeler, will you not marry me?
00:44The latter mutually break up in episode six.
00:48And in the finale, the former couple are single and Steve is dating.
00:52Is it the lectures on Steinem that draw you or the high concentration of women?
00:56Can't it be both?
00:59While Robin doesn't explicitly state she was talking about Vicky when she mentioned, quote,
01:03overbearing partners, there's no reason to assume they broke up.
01:07Hopper and Joyce got their happy ending and finally went to Enzo's.
01:11Joyce Byers, will you spend the rest of your life with a tired, grumpy, stubborn old man who loves you very much?
01:25As for the youngsters, Max and Lucas are still going strong.
01:29Dustin's overwhelming grief for Eddie affected his closest friendships, so it makes sense if he and Susie broke up offscreen.
01:37Unfortunately for Biler shippers, Mike doesn't get together with Will after Elle's sacrifice.
01:42However, we love that Will is comfortable with himself enough to start dating.
01:46But it isn't long before he finds his place there.
01:49And with that, deep happiness and acceptance.
01:58Misadventures in Russia.
02:00Unresolved.
02:01Many viewers found season four's Escape from Russia storyline to be uninteresting.
02:06And even in season five, there are still parts that are unclear.
02:09While imprisoned at the Kamchatka facility, Jim Hopper gets out of his shackles by asking another inmate to break his ankle.
02:17Of which he seemingly recovers from rather quickly.
02:27Before he, quote, perished in the Starcourt Mall explosion, Joyce promised Hopp she'd protect Eleven.
02:33But as soon as she hears he's alive, she teams up with Murray to break him out, leaving the kids on their own.
02:39Well, I'm not exactly an expert in parenting.
02:45But for what little it's worth, I think you did the right thing.
02:49The responsible thing.
02:50When Joyce and Murray crash a plane in Alaska, they don't sustain any substantial injuries either.
02:56These aren't actual plot holes, but the overlooked details left some scratching their heads.
03:03Season four's Upside Down Escape.
03:17Unresolved.
03:18In the season four finale, Nancy, Steve, Robin, Eddie and Dustin bring the fight to the Upside Down.
03:24Four times, Max.
03:38But after Vecna opens the fourth gate, we don't see how they escaped.
03:43We know what happened to dearly departed Eddie Munson, but how did the others get back to the real Hawkins?
03:48The episode jumps ahead two days, where they're helping the residents of Hawkins heal after the, quote, earthquake.
03:55It's okay if you want to save him, you know.
03:57No, he'll be more loved than a new home.
03:59Season five begins with Rockin' Robin explaining the state of Hawkins under military quarantine as we catch up with the characters.
04:06However, how they all managed to escape is never addressed.
04:09And now, I'm stuck here with you, my fellow quarantine compatriots.
04:14And if I can be brutally honest, I couldn't be happier.
04:18Because when you really think about it, why would you want to live anywhere else?
04:23Dr. K and the military.
04:25Unresolved.
04:26After Elle sacrifices herself and closes the last portal, Dr. K and her army simply vanish from the story.
04:33Hopper, who's later reinstated as police chief, and the others don't face any legal consequences after taking out multiple soldiers.
04:50The pregnant women being injected with Collie's blood were more than likely killed in the explosion.
04:55It makes sense that they'd leave Hawkins, since the person they were hunting just died,
04:59especially given their mission wasn't exactly public knowledge.
05:03And you believe 11 have taken these kids?
05:06For what purpose?
05:08Killing them, protecting them, the reason doesn't matter.
05:11Many fans agree that Dr. K wasn't an interesting or well-written character.
05:16But after the suffering she caused, not just to our heroes, but to her own soldiers,
05:20viewers would have been satisfied to see her get a not-so-happy ending, like Lieutenant Akers.
05:33Will's connection to Vecna resolved.
05:38You were the first, and you broke so easily.
05:47The inaugural season of Stranger Things centers on Will Byers' disappearance.
05:52He spends season 2 being tormented by the Mind Flayer,
05:55and when he moves to California at the end of season 3, he no longer feels the connection.
06:00But by the end of season 4, he's back in Hawkins and senses Vecna.
06:04In season 5, Vecna tells Will he was chosen for his weak mind,
06:19revealing how he unknowingly helped build the tunnels that formed in season 2.
06:23How do you think the tunnels came to be, William?
06:29You built them.
06:32Will has a lot of epic moments in the final season.
06:35Saving friends by tapping into the Hive Mind, Vecna-ing Demogorgons,
06:39invading Henry's mind, and coming out to his loved ones.
06:43I... I don't like girls.
06:46After the absolute hell he's gone through, he deserved every one of them.
06:50Dr. Owens' Whereabouts Unresolved
06:54Dr. Sam Owens played a major part in season 2
06:57as Dr. Martin Brenner's colleague and eventual successor.
07:00I'm more of a Mounds guy, but I gotta say, peanut butter and chocolate, come on.
07:05It's hard to beat that.
07:06Alright, so tell me what's going on with you, tell me about this episode you had.
07:09He made a cameo in the season 3 finale, and returned in season 4 in a prominent role.
07:15But the fate of the Hawkins' National Laboratory director-turned-ally remains unknown.
07:20He was last seen in season 4's penultimate episode,
07:23Restrained in the Lab, imploring Lieutenant Colonel Jack Sullivan not to kill Eleven.
07:28And we'll see if these murders keep happening.
07:31If you're right, the killing ends, and you can pull the plug on her.
07:34In fact, I'll do it myself.
07:36But if you're wrong about this,
07:38God, are we gonna need her.
07:40Jack,
07:41don't do this.
07:44I'm begging you.
07:45Of course, we know Sullivan's men fail to take her down.
07:48But what about Owens?
07:49Did he escape and go into hiding?
07:51Or was he ultimately killed?
07:53We'll just never know.
07:55Take him.
07:56You son of a bitch!
07:58Now!
07:58You son of a bitch!
08:00Collie, aka 8.
08:02Resolved.
08:03Season 2's infamous penultimate episode,
08:05The Lost Sister,
08:06saw Eleven going rogue and running away from Hawkins.
08:10She ends up in Chicago, Illinois,
08:12where she meets her sister, Collie, aka 8.
08:15While many viewers maligned the episode for taking a pointless detour before the season 2 finale,
08:20people still wondered if she would return, or at least get a mention.
08:24They found me.
08:26Found my friends.
08:30I killed them.
08:32And they took me.
08:34In episode 4 of season 5,
08:38Elle finds Collie in the Upside Down Lab,
08:41where Dr. K extracted her blood for years,
08:43infusing it into pregnant women in an attempt to create more kids with powerful abilities.
08:48This was not about revenge.
08:51Dr. K needed me.
08:54She needed my blood.
08:57And her need was endless.
09:00Despite her long absence from the series,
09:02Collie played a big role in the final season,
09:05revealing Henry as the source of their powers and influencing Elle's sacrifice.
09:10And with your blood, they will create more children.
09:12Children who will suffer as we have.
09:14And with these children, they will open up more gates.
09:17More worlds.
09:18Henry's time at Hawkins High.
09:21Unresolved.
09:22When Vecna was introduced in season 4,
09:24we got glimpses into his backstory as Henry Creel,
09:27a young boy with abilities who moved to Hawkins, Indiana in 1959.
09:31Like you.
09:32I didn't fit in with the other children.
09:35Something was wrong with me.
09:38All the teachers and the doctors said I was broken.
09:42After he kills his mother and sister and his father is framed,
09:46Dr. Brenner takes him to the Hawkins lab,
09:48where he stays into his adulthood.
09:50But in season 5,
09:52Max learns that he attended Hawkins High School with the parents of his victims,
09:56including Joyce, Hopper, and the Wheelers.
09:58Was that Joyce?
10:00Yep.
10:00And through that door, Hop's sneaking a joint.
10:03And that way, Mr. Wheeler is filling up Mrs. Wheeler.
10:05I wish we had time to sightsee, but we've got a plate of couch.
10:08However, it's never really been implied that the adults knew him at all.
10:12Which begs the question,
10:13did they ever find out that Vecna was actually their old classmate?
10:16The origins of Henry, a.k.a. One, a.k.a. Vecna,
10:20are explained in the Broadway play The First Shadow.
10:23But not acknowledging this in the show is an odd choice.
10:26And that's when I understood.
10:28I was trapped inside Henry's mind.
10:31His memories.
10:32Upside Down Origins.
10:34Resolved.
10:35Over five seasons of Stranger Things,
10:37the Hawkins crew discovered quite a few different realms,
10:40mainly the Upside Down.
10:41Holly isn't on the other side of the wall.
10:46Then where is she?
10:48I don't know.
10:50Exactly.
10:51But wherever she is, it's not the Upside Down.
10:53Season 4 already confirmed that Eleven unintentionally created the Upside Down
10:57on November 6th, 1983,
10:59when Dr. Brenner told her to make contact with a Demogorgon in the void.
11:03Don't focus on them.
11:06Yes, Papa.
11:11This is why it's frozen on that specific day,
11:19which is also the day Will went missing.
11:21But Season 5 adds to the lore,
11:24revealing that what they thought was an extra-dimensional realm
11:26is actually a wormhole used as a bridge between Earth and the Abyss,
11:31where the Mind Flayer resides.
11:32Still confused?
11:34You're not alone.
11:34More specifically, an interdimensional bridge that rips through space-time.
11:38It is wildly unstable, but held together by exotic matter,
11:42which we found dead center right above the lab.
11:46In theoretical physics, they call this type of bridge a...
11:48Wormhole.
11:49And this wormhole connects Hawkins to here,
11:52another world that I've coined the Abyss.

12:12Henry and the Mind Flayer
12:13Resolved
12:14In Episode 6,
12:16Max and Holly find Henry's traumatic memory in the cave
12:19that he's too scared to relive.
12:21As a kid, he found a scientist wounded in a cave,
12:24and in trying to help him, got shot in the hand,
12:28prompting Henry to hit him with a rock.
12:34In the finale, Henry forces his way into the cave to capture the children,
12:41and we see the full memory.
12:43The briefcase held a mysterious glowing rock housing Mind Flayer particles,
12:47which made its way into Henry.
12:54When the scientist tells him to resist being consumed,
12:59he flexes his new powers and kills him instantly.
13:02Henry didn't create the Mind Flayer,
13:05he was its vessel,
13:06and the two essentially became one humanity-hating entity.
