00:00Stay away from my daughter!
00:05Welcome to Ms. Mojo.
00:07And today, we're counting down our picks for the most awesome
00:10and kick-ass scenes involving the women of Stranger Things.
00:16Go! Go!
00:20Number 20. Robin Roasts the Russian.
00:23You're going to regret that souk.
00:25Most people would crumble in a secret Soviet base,
00:28but Robin Buckley isn't most people.
00:30High as a kite on truth serum,
00:32she turns a terrifying interrogation into a comedy routine,
00:36roasting her violent captors to their faces.
00:39When the intimidating Russian general demands to know who she works for,
00:42she doesn't beg for mercy.
00:44She mocks his ego and tells him how stupid their secret transmission was.
00:48Heck, she even spits in the dude's face.
00:50Robin knows she has no physical way out,
00:52yet she refuses to give them the satisfaction of her fear.
00:55In fact, her chaotic and drugged-up rambling
00:58actually buys them some time and distracts the soldiers,
01:01proving that Robin's sharp wit and refusal to shut up
01:04are just as valuable as any superpower in the party's arsenal.
01:07And we cracked it in a day!
01:10A day!
01:11You think you're so smart,
01:14but a couple of kids who scoop ice cream for a living
01:18cracked your coat in a day, and now people know you're here.
01:21Number 19. The Turnbow Trap
01:24Erica, I told you to call 911!
01:26And I told you to eat your damn pie.
01:30Season 5 wasted no time reminding us that the Hawkins women are tactical geniuses.
01:35When the Turnbow family is targeted by a Demogorgon,
01:38Erica Sinclair steps up with cold, calculated efficiency,
01:42drugging the family to use their home as a trap.
01:44It's ruthless, especially when she just straight-up jabs Tina in the neck.
01:48But it was also necessary.
01:50But the true payoff comes when the Demogorgon arrives.
01:53Just as all hell breaks loose, the Demogorgon falls into a barbed wire trap
01:57and is shot by Nancy, who tags it with a tracking device.
02:00The combination of Erica's strategic brilliance and Nancy's trigger-happy execution
02:05makes this a top-tier duo moment.
02:07They didn't just survive the hunt, they turned the tables and became the hunters.
02:11It is a seamless blend of brains and bullets that left audiences cheering.
02:15It flipped! It flipped!
02:18Signal acquired. Headed our way.
02:22Number 18. The Sauna Smackdown.
02:24Please activate.
02:25Can you just trust me? Please?
02:27Max, get away from the door.
02:29What?
02:30Get away from the door!
02:32At the time, the sauna test was the most brutal fight that Eleven endured.
02:37Trapped in a locker room with a flayed and murderous Billy, Elle takes a serious beating,
02:42barely dodging a barbell and getting choked into near-unconsciousness.
02:45But the moment the tide turns is simply unforgettable.
02:48With blood streaming from her nose and sheer desperation in her eyes,
02:52she summons enough telekinetic force to lift Billy into the air and hurl him through the wall.
02:57It's a raw, heavy-hitting brawl that shows Elle's vulnerability and her resilience.
03:02She wasn't fighting a faceless monster, she was fighting her friend's possessed brother.
03:07And the physical toll it took on her made the victory feel earned.
03:10It still remains one of the show's most intense showdowns.
03:19Number 17. Eleven flips a van.
03:22When Dustin, Mike, and Lucas find Eleven alone and drenched in the rain,
03:33they have no way of knowing just how much their lives will change,
03:37and how dangerous hiding her away will be.
03:40Eleven's being actively pursued by a group of agents from Hawkins National Laboratory,
03:45led by a man she refers to as Papa.
03:47When the agents eventually find her,
03:49they ambush Mike's home and chase the kids in multiple white vans.
03:53Just when it seems like the vans have them surrounded,
03:56Elle surprises everyone and uses her telekinesis to flip a van,
04:00allowing the gang to escape to safety.
04:03This was an early indication that Eleven was just beginning to tap into her power.
04:20See what you did to that van?
04:22No, Dustin, we missed it.
04:23I mean, that was, that was, that was awesome.
04:28It was awesome.
04:29Number 16. Joyce closes the gate.
04:32You know, if we actually do make it out of here, we deserve to celebrate, right?
04:38Yeah.
04:39What if saving the world meant risking the life of the one you love?
04:43After helping Murray and Hopper infiltrate the underground Russian base at Starcourt Mall,
04:48all that's left to do is put a stop to the machine creating a gate to the Upside Down.
04:52Hey.
04:55You ready to end this?
04:58Hopper and Joyce are initially meant to carry out the task together,
05:02but he's attacked by a Russian soldier.
05:04With the window to close the gate narrowing, and Hopper still stuck in harm's way,
05:09it becomes clear to him and Joyce that a tough decision has to be made.
05:13Acknowledging the grim reality with a look, Joyce turns the keys, protecting her children
05:19and Earth in the process.
05:21Number 15. Max stands up to Billy.
05:24Let's get out of here.
05:28In Season 2, we're introduced to Max and her stepbrother Billy.
05:32While she becomes friendly with Mike, Dustin, Will, and Lucas, Billy's not quite as friendly,
05:37and threatens the gang at every opportunity.
05:40Tensions come to a head when Billy's ordered by his father to find Max and bring her home.
05:45When he finds the kids with Steve, he gets into a physical altercation with the babysitter,
05:50and warns Lucas to stay away from his stepsister.
05:53If Max won't listen to me, maybe you will.
05:56You stay away from her.
05:58Stay away from her!
06:01You hear me?
06:02Unable to watch silently as Billy brutally beats her friend, Max intervenes,
06:07injecting her stepbrother with a syringe.
06:10This subdues him long enough for her to threaten him with a bat full of nails,
06:20and prove her allegiance to the troupe, and herself.
06:24From here on out, you leave me and my friends alone, do you understand?
06:27Screw you.
06:33Sid, you understand!
06:35Say it!
06:36Say it!
06:38I understand.
06:39Yeah.
06:40Number 14.
06:41Eleven saves Mike.
06:42Friends don't lie.
06:44And friends don't let friends get beaten up.
06:47When Eleven comes to school with the boys, she witnesses firsthand how they get tormented.
06:52When Mike tries to stand up to ringleader Troy, she freezes him and forces him to pee himself,
06:58humiliating him in front of his peers.
07:00You're dead, Wheeler.
07:01Dead!
07:02Dude, Troy peed himself!
07:15Unfortunately, this public embarrassment only enrages Troy further.
07:19Piss your pants!
07:20Our friend has superpowers, and she squeezed your tiny bladder with her mind!
07:25Shut up!
07:26While searching for a missing Eleven, Mike and Dustin get cornered on a cliff by Troy and one
07:31of his cronies.
07:32Just when it seems hopeless, Elle comes to the rescue in time to levitate Mike to safety
07:37and break the arm of their attacker.
07:39Mouth breathers, beware!
07:40Go!
07:41Let's get out of here!
07:42Let's go!
07:43Go!
07:44Yeah, that's right!
07:45You better run!
07:46Dean's our friend and Dean's crazy!
07:49Number 13.
07:50Elle brain drains the agents.
07:52Sometimes we forget just how dark season one actually was.
08:15Like Elle straight up murdering people?
08:17Dr. Brenner's agents learned this the hard way after cornering her in the climactic school
08:21chase.
08:22But with a bow of her head and a glare that could freeze hell over, she begins to, we don't
08:27know, squeeze their brains into mush or something.
08:29They freeze in place, start bleeding from their eyeballs, and then just drop dead with
08:34a sickening crunch sound.
08:36Seeing armed soldiers collapse as blood pours from their eyes is undeniably gruesome, but
08:41it's also one of the most satisfying vengeance moments in this series.
08:44Especially as that one doctor took out Benny earlier in the season.
08:48Justice for Benny.
08:49Where is she?
08:50Right, she's in the kitchen.
08:51Come on up, I'll introduce you.
08:53Sorry again for trying to turn you away.
08:55It's fine.
08:56You know, it's funny.
08:57Your voice sounds different.
08:59Number 12.
09:00Robin gets the interview.
09:02In Stranger Things' fourth season, the teens begin investigating their town's history,
09:07desperate to find something to explain the recent horrifying deaths in Hawkins.
09:11Nancy and Robin discover a news story about Victor Creel, whose family was murdered in
09:16an eerily similar way.
09:18The only catch?
09:19Creel himself was blamed and committed for those very murders.
09:23They go undercover hoping to interview him and hear his first-hand account of the event.
09:28At first, it doesn't seem like they'll get far with the stubborn hospital director, but
09:32Robin proves to be a master of improv.
09:35I do apologize.
09:36Don't apologize, Ruth.
09:37Screw that.
09:38The fact of the matter is, we did put in a request months ago and were denied.
09:43And then we reapplied and were denied again.
09:45She impresses him, Nancy, not to mention the audience, with an impassioned speech about
09:50the lengths she's gone to to prove herself as a female journalist.
09:54Other kids, they wanted to be astronauts, basketball players, rock stars, but I wanted
09:58to be you.
09:59I wanted to be you, so forgive me if I'll now try anything in my power, including wearing
10:04this ridiculous outfit, if I might get the chance to speak to the man that ignited my passion.
10:10Needless to say, Robin gets them access to Creel.
10:13Number 11.
10:15Joyce Exercises Her Son
10:17It's not working.
10:18It's not working.
10:19Mom, are you listening to me?
10:21Just wait!
10:22How much longer?
10:23Mom, look at him!
10:24Jonathan, just wait!
10:26Wait!
10:28No, leave it!
10:29Mom, you're killing him!
10:30We all knew Joyce was the ultimate fierce mom, but this moment took it to a new and even
10:35more badass level.
10:36Remembering that the Mind Flayer hates heat, Joyce makes the impossible choice to physically hurt
10:41her own son in order to save his soul.
10:43Binding Will to the bed and blasting him with space heaters, she stands her ground while
10:48Will screams in agony and Jonathan screams at her to stop.
10:52It's a powerful display of maternal grit that proves love isn't just soft hugs.
10:57Sometimes it's fire and fury.
10:59Watching her hold him down, sweating and sobbing but refusing to let go until that shadow monster
11:04is finally purged, all while ignoring Jonathan's pleas, reminds us that Joyce will burn down the
11:09world, or maybe just hops cabin, to keep her kids safe.
11:13Will, please!
11:15Come on!
11:16Can you hear me?
11:17Come on, Will!
11:18Will!
11:24Number 10.
11:25Whenever Nancy Gets a Gun
11:27Whenever Nancy Wheeler Gets a Gun
11:29Can you use this?
11:31I can't.
11:32Nancy may seem like just another girl next door, but when her friends and family are
11:41in danger, she is not afraid to take up arms and fight for them.
11:46Literally.
11:47Well, we don't have to go all the way downtown for guns.
11:50I have guns.
11:52In my bedroom.
11:53You, Nancy Wheeler, have guns, plural, in your bedroom?
11:59Full of surprises, isn't she?
12:01In the first season of Stranger Things, Nancy feels the need to learn how to defend herself
12:05when the horrors of the Upside Down begin to wreak havoc in Hawkins.
12:08Screw that.
12:14She can frequently be seen brandishing weapons of all sizes against a variety of monstrous creatures.
12:20And Steve Harrington once.
12:24These harsh realities don't cause her to back down from the fight.
12:28So Demogorgons and Mind Flayers, beware.
12:31Number 9.
12:33Karen's Wine Bottle Warrior Moment
12:41We waited years for Karen Wheeler to finally get in on the action.
12:44And the payoff was absolutely legendary.
12:47Trapped in her own house with a Demogorgon who wants Holly.
12:50And who, for all she knew, just murdered her husband.
12:53Karen was forced to act.
12:55But she didn't have a gun or psychic powers.
12:57She had some wine.
12:59And let's not forget, she was also absolutely plastered.
13:02In a moment of sheer rage, Karen smashes the wine bottle and goes absolutely feral on the creature in order to protect Holly.
13:09Yes, the Demogorgon still won the fight.
13:12But seeing the perfectly quaffed housewife transform into a monster-fighting warrior was truly one of the biggest and most fist-pumping shocks of the season.
13:20Suffice it to say, it finally earned Karen a rightful spot in the Monster Fighting Hall of Fame alongside her children.
13:26Don't try to talk, okay? Just stay calm, okay?
13:29You're gonna be fine. It's gonna be fine, okay?
13:32Number 8.
13:33The Helicopter Takedown
13:34I copy, over.
13:36You've got the target in our sights. Question permission to take the shot, over.
13:41Jack, you don't have to do this.
13:43So I'm saying.
13:44Few things in Stranger Things are as cool as Eleven taking down that helicopter.
13:48After spending most of the season completely powerless, Eleven's exit from the Nina Project was, as they say, absolute cinema.
13:55As the military descends on the desert bunker to kill her, Elle doesn't run.
14:00She says goodbye to Papa, walks into the line of fire, raises a hand, and takes the helicopter down.
14:06Spinning the massive aircraft like a toy before slamming it into the ground is the definition of overpowered.
14:12And that shot of the chopper exploding in front of Elle is easily one of the show's coolest.
14:17With that massive fireball, the superhero was back and stronger than ever.
14:21The raging fire in the background as she reunites with Mike is just the cherry on top of a perfect power trip.
14:27It's really you.
14:31It's me.
14:32Number 7.
14:34Eleven uses her powers to shut the portal.
14:36Over the course of Season 2, Elle learns more about her past.
14:40She finds out about her birth mother, and meets up with a girl named Callie, or Eight, who also has powers.
14:46Although Callie and Eight have taken very different paths in life, Callie understands her struggles and teaches her how to harness her powers to her advantage.
14:55They stole your life, Jane.
14:57I want you to find me.
15:01This proves useful in her most stressful task yet, as Elle saves Hawkins in the season finale.
15:07And eventually, it will kill you.
15:18While also staving off the Mind Flayers' attacks, she closes the gate to the Upside Down, proving that Stranger Things has only scratched the surface of her abilities.
15:28Number 6.
15:37Joyce's Relentless Search
15:39Joyce, 99 out of 100 times, kid goes missing, the kid is with a parent or a relative.
15:44What about the other time?
15:46What?
15:47You said 99 out of 100.
15:49What about the other time?
15:50The one!
15:51The one!
15:52Before viewers were introduced to Elle and her wide array of seemingly supernatural powers, they met a mother willing to do anything to find her son.
16:01Joyce Byers' search for Will begins in the series' first episode, and ultimately becomes the heart of the show's introductory season.
16:08Are you alive?
16:17Are you safe?
16:23She refuses to be dissuaded by anyone in her search, be it law enforcement or her ex-husband, and does everything in her power to communicate with her missing child, even at the risk of looking delusional.
16:36Maybe I am a mess, maybe I'm crazy, maybe I'm out of my mind, but God help me, I will keep these lights up until the day I die if I think there's a chance that Will's still out there.
16:47This commitment to her children continues into the next season, when the now-returned Will begins to see things.
16:53Listen, look, look at me.
16:55I will never, ever let anything bad happen to you ever again.
17:00Whatever's going on in you, we're gonna fix it.
17:03I will fix it.
17:04Joyce demands answers from doctors confused by his condition, and insists they do more to help him.
17:11What a badass mom.
17:135. Max Runs Up That Hill
17:15Max is overwhelmed with grief following Billy's death the previous season, and begins to isolate herself from her friends.
17:276. Max Runs Up That Hill
17:28Max Runs Up That Hill
17:29Max Runs Up That Hill
17:30Max Runs Up That Hill
17:31Max Runs Up That Hill
17:32Max Runs Up That Hill
17:33Max Runs Up That Hill
17:34Max is overwhelmed with grief following Billy's death the previous season, and begins to isolate herself from her friends.
17:406. Max Runs Up That Hill
17:41When the villain Vecna begins picking off teens, Max realizes she shares the same symptoms and may be his next victim.
17:57victim.
17:57I don't know how long I have. All I know is that for Fred and Chrissy,
18:03they both died less than 24 hours after their first vision.
18:05Max's trauma finally catches up with her, and it seems like she may succumb to Vecna's wrath.
18:11That is, until her friends give her the push she needs by playing her favorite song,
18:16Kate Bush's Running Up That Hill. Remembering how much her friends care for her,
18:20Max is finally able to free herself from Vecna's grasp, dodging falling projectiles as she runs
18:26back to reality.
18:35The combination of a powerful character moment, music, and visuals make this one of the series'
18:41best sequences ever.
18:434. Elle Destroys the Demogorgon
18:50The Demogorgon is the first big bad viewers see in Stranger Things. In the first season's finale,
18:56the monster chases Elle's new friends through their school, intent on attacking them. It seems
19:01to be impervious to all of the kids' attempts to stop it, until Elle finally steps in and is able
19:06to subdue it with her powers.
19:18I wanna stop!
19:19Elle pins the monster against a chalkboard and seemingly sacrifices herself to kill it.
19:24Goodbye, Mike.
19:25Luckily, it wasn't goodbye for the young heroine, and soon she'd be back to protect Hawkins from the dangers of the upside-down, season after season.
19:34Number 3. Karen Blows Up the Demodogs
19:47We return to Karen Wheeler for another exceptionally badass moment. Who knew she would be so cool in the
19:52final season? Just when we thought the hospital siege was going to end in disaster, the ultimate suburban
19:58mom stepped up to the plate. With Demodogs closing in on the group in the laundry room, Karen, horribly
20:04injured and barely able to walk, by the way, tapped into her inner action hero by rigging an oxygen tank inside an industrial dryer.
20:11As the monsters investigate the clanging noise, boom, Mama Wheeler obliterates them and saves the teens
20:17from almost certain death. Let's just give a quick round of applause for Karen, who didn't even know
20:22monsters existed just a few days before. And now, she's a certified upside-down exterminator. Not bad. Not bad.
20:30Number 2. Eleven Kills Acres
20:42One last chance. Where is she?
20:56Go to hell.
20:57This is basically just a rehashed version of the scene from season 1, but dang if it isn't even cooler.
21:03We knew Eleven was ruthless, but this elevates her standards to a whole different degree.
21:07After months of running and hiding from government goons, Eleven finally stops running and fights back.
21:13When Lieutenant Acres and his squad cornered the group, threatening Hopper and Collie,
21:18Elle doesn't just push them away, she goes full Dark Phoenix. In a display of raw and terrifying power,
21:24she snaps various necks before telekinetically forcing Acres to turn his own gun against himself.
21:30She dismantles the whole military unit with lethal precision, serving as a stark and visceral
21:36reminder that you do not threaten the people Eleven loves.

21:50If you're on your phone, make sure you go into your settings and switch on notifications.
21:55Number 1. Joyce Beheads Vecna
22:04This whole story started with Joyce and her family, so it's only fitting that it ends with her as well.
22:09While Eleven and Will weakened Vecna by ripping his arm off and impaling him,
22:13it was Joyce who stepped up for the execution. Vecna looks at her with blood coming from his mouth,
22:18his eyes almost pleading for mercy, but Joyce isn't having any of that.
22:23Flashing back to all the pain that the monster caused her and her family throughout the years,
22:27Joyce takes the axe and decapitates Vecna with multiple gnarly swings.
22:31It was the perfect bookend to her character arc, from the, quote,
22:35crazy mom with the Christmas lights to the woman who literally killed the boogeyman.
22:39The kill was emotionally earned, cementing Joyce as the undisputed MVP of Stranger Things.
22:53Can you think of any other badass scenes involving the ladies of Stranger Things?
