Chelsea interim manager Calum Macfarlane said he doesn’t feel famous and doesn’t feel he has nothing to lose ahead of their Premier League clash with Manchester City Cobham, London, UK
00:00Ben Warhol once spoke about 15 minutes of fame. How are you enjoying 15 minutes of fame and how will you deal with the nerves come summer?
00:10It doesn't feel any different. I don't feel famous or other than a few other text messages than what you'd usually get but it honestly doesn't feel any different.
00:17I'm just focused on coming in every day, preparing the team as best we can for a positive result but it honestly doesn't feel any different.
00:26Is this a one-off or will you be going into next week as well? Have you been told just Sunday or have you been told to do it until somebody comes in?
00:36The brief is to prepare the lads for Manchester City on Sunday and that's honestly all I know at this moment in time.
00:44Right now you're an under-21 coach but I presume one day somewhere down the line you want to be a manager.
00:49Is this a good chance to showcase to millions of people around the world rather than a couple of hundred watching an under-21 game what you can do?
00:58No, I honestly don't see it like that. I see it as the team needs to be prepared and ready for the game on Sunday.
01:07And our job as a staff is to give them the best opportunity to perform in that arena, in that environment.
01:13It's not about us as a staff. I know that's the narrative but it's not. It's about giving the players the support they need to go and execute a performance.
01:21And finally, you're up against Pep Guardiola and most managers up against Pep Guardiola are underdogs. Have you got absolutely nothing to lose on Sunday?
01:29You personally, you as a team, you've got absolutely nothing to lose because of the situation, because of what's happened in the last 24-48 hours?
01:37I think that we know we're up against a really good team in really good form, a great manager. But we've got a really good team. We've got a really good talented group of players.
01:50So I wouldn't say we have nothing to lose. We're going to go there and try and give a really good account of ourselves and put in a performance like we've seen from this team previously.
02:00So I wouldn't say we have nothing to lose now.
