Transcript
00:00What does all this mean for you, leaving out Chelsea in an FA Cup final?
00:04I think I'm right to say a lot of your family are Chelsea fans, is that right?
00:09My girlfriend's family are Chelsea fans, yeah. Not my family, but yeah.
00:13So what would it mean to them and to you as well?
00:16Well, they are my family, to be fair. I shouldn't say that, should I?
00:20But yeah, they're massive Chelsea fans. Her dad and uncles have been season ticket holders for 50 years.
00:26She's a massive Chelsea fan, so yeah, they're very proud and it means a lot to all Chelsea fans.
00:33It's a massive game and I hope we can put in a performance for all the fans.
00:37Yeah, they'll be at the game, yeah.
00:39Thanks, John. Ian?
00:41Hi, Calum. How are you?
00:42Very well, you?
00:43Surviving. In terms of leaving the team out on Saturday, being in the season,
00:51that would probably be the last thing you'd have thought you'd be doing in the middle of May,
00:55beginning your team out on the Cup final.
00:57Would you be nervous?
00:58You're obviously proud.
01:00Would you be nervous? Would you be excited?
01:03I'd probably feel all those emotions, I'd imagine.
01:05I can't tell you exactly how I'm going to feel on the day.
01:08Trying to make it as normal as possible.
01:10I've taken a few games now at this level, not a game of this magnitude, of course, a Cup final,
01:15but I'll try and stay as level as possible.
01:17The players, the process, the way we work will be the same, so I'm sure I feel a lot of
01:21emotions on that day.
01:22Obviously, you were there for the semi-final, but how different is a Cup final and a Cup final week
01:28to the semi-final and build-up to the Leeds game and build-up to this game?
01:32I think it will be very similar from our standpoint.
01:35We'll prepare, we'll have the same process in the way we work day-to-day,
01:39whether it's meetings with players, individual meetings, it will all be the same
01:42and we'll try and make it as normal as possible and try and get the same sort of performance
01:46we've got against Leeds and Liverpool.
01:48But it's a massive game, you can't hide away from that and we all want to win that game.
01:52You've already pointed out, this is a football club that wins trophies.
01:57Depending on what happens in the dugout, it always tends to win trophies.
02:02Does that put more pressure on you for Saturday or is it less pressure on you
02:06because you know that the difficult season it's been, maybe winning a trophy will be the ultimate bonus?
02:13I think when you're at a club of this magnitude and like you've mentioned,
02:16the history that this club's got in this competition and winning silverware,
02:20there's always pressure.
02:21There's pressure to win every game, but this game as well, there's pressure.
02:23You have to accept that and embrace that.
