00:02Afternoon. Afternoon, everyone.
00:20Okay.
00:26Thank you for joining us.
00:28We will take the usual format today,
00:31beginning with James Cole and Sky Sports News.
00:33Way to go, James.
00:34Hi, Gallen.
00:34How's things looking on the injury front of this one?
00:38Yeah, we've got a few lads returning.
00:40So, Levi's trained another full week again.
00:43Reece as well.
00:44So, yeah, looking promising.
00:46And a big boost having those two back.
00:48How close are both of them to start, do you feel?
00:51Yeah, we've still got another session.
00:53They both trained fully today.
00:54So, we're hopeful.
00:56We're hopeful.
00:57And how's Jesse Terry after that nasty knock?
01:01Yeah, I spoke to Jesse's dad the night it happened.
01:04I spoke to him yesterday.
01:06I spoke to the family yesterday as well.
01:07And it's positive.
01:09It's really positive.
01:10I don't have the knowledge or the insights to go into massive detail,
01:14but all early signs are really positive.
01:16Such a difficult one for him.
01:19So, he's shown so much positivity, hasn't he?
01:24Yeah, it's really disappointing.
01:25Obviously, as long as he's healthy
01:27and the way it's looking now is all that really matters.
01:30But it was great to give him his debut.
01:32I worked with Jesse at the under-21s.
01:34He's had a fantastic season.
01:36He's not going to be available for us from now to the end of the season now.
01:39So, it's an abrupt end to his season,
01:41but amazing for him to make his debut.
01:44And I think he showed in that first half his quality
01:46and what he can bring to this team.
01:48You've had a bit of time to analyse the Forest game.
01:51A disappointing performance.
01:52How do you explain it to the fans who are disappointed,
01:56some angry at what they saw?
01:58Yeah, I completely understand the feelings.
02:01We are as disappointed and as frustrated as they are.
02:05I put it down to probably just not responding well enough
02:08to the early setbacks that we had.
02:10We need to be much better in those moments.
02:12It's happened before and it's something that we will address
02:14and try and improve for the upcoming games.
02:17Some fans suggesting that the players are down tall.
02:20Is that fair?
02:21No, I wouldn't agree with that.
02:24The performances haven't been good enough.
02:28We're in a really bad run at the moment.
02:30The Leeds performance was a glimmer where we thought we could build on that
02:33and we weren't able to do that.
02:35But I do see these boys every day, every training session, every meeting in the gym.
02:40They are in a good place to go and attack games.
02:43We just haven't been able to translate that on the game on Monday.
02:47So hopefully we can improve that on Saturday.
02:50And is the supporters unrest off the field filtering through the atmosphere at the stadium?
02:55Does that affect the players at all?
02:57You can't really focus on that.
02:59You're playing in a Premier League against a really high level opposition.
03:03So your full focus needs to be on the match in the moment.
03:06After the game on Monday, Jamie Carey said the club is broken.
03:11How do you feel hearing those words?
03:15It's Jamie's job. He's a pundit. He's got to give his opinion and I respect that.
03:19That's his job and it's what he's there to do.
03:21I can only speak on my experience at this club.
03:26And I think that there's a lot of foundations for this team to have success.
03:30We're not in the best form at the moment.
03:33We're not performing the way we should be.
03:34But I do think there are foundations there for this team to be successful.
03:37And is European football key for those foundations?
03:40How determined are you and the players to deliver it?
03:44We've got four games left.
03:46We need to attack every game and show our level like we have done at times this year, not recently.
03:52And put ourselves in the best position to achieve that.
03:54From a personal point of view, are you able to enjoy this period at all?
03:59Some people are saying it's a poison chalice.
04:01How are you finding it?
04:03It's a challenge. It's tough.
04:05You don't like losing games. No one likes losing games of football.
04:07But I'm enjoying the challenge. I'm embracing the challenge.
04:11And I've got a job to do and try and support the players and give them the best platform to
04:15win football games.
04:16It's my job.
04:17So if we win, I'll enjoy it.
04:19If not, just like everyone else, I'll be frustrated and angry.
04:23Thanks, James.
04:24Roger?
04:27Hi, Alan.
04:27Hi.
04:28Just going back to the Forrest game, you said that the first 15 minutes was totally unacceptable.
04:37How do you go about ensuring that that doesn't happen again?
04:40Is that down to you?
04:42Is it the players' collective responsibility?
04:43And do you feel empowered to sort of lay down the law to the players if you're not happy with
04:48what you're seeing out there?
04:49Yeah, it's down to all of us.
04:51I can be honest and open and we review the game.
04:55We made some big mistakes in that first 15 minutes and Nottingham Forest punished us.
04:59And you can't do that at this level.
05:01You can't do that against teams that are fighting for their lives to stay in the league.
05:05And especially the form we're in, it hits us a little bit harder.
05:09The confidence isn't there to go and bounce back.
05:11But regardless of that, at any level, you can't make the mistakes that we did in the first 15 minutes.
05:16And we've reviewed the game and we're going to do our best to make sure that doesn't happen again.
05:20You're coming up against a side that had a similar start in their last match.
05:30They're a really good side, got a lot of good players.
05:38There's a lot of threats that we have to be aware of.
05:40We also have a lot of good players and we're just focusing on ourselves at the moment
05:44and making sure that our performance levels are at a higher level than what they have been.
05:48You talked about attacking the last four games you have this season.
05:51One of those, of course, is a cup final.
05:54Do you see this as an opportunity to at least build some momentum after a run of defeat that you've
05:59had
05:59going into that final, which will be a crucial game?
06:02Yeah, we want to turn it around.
06:04We know that the standards that this club has set, we aren't meeting them at this moment.
06:08And the only thing we can control is how we behave and act every single day,
06:12how hard we work to turn that level of performance around.
06:16How much is the squad thinking ahead?
06:20It's difficult to ignore and everyone says they take each game as it comes.
06:22But with a cup final coming up, is there half an eye on that?
06:25Do you think the players can fully focus on the challenge at hand in the league?
06:29We haven't spoken about the cup final.
06:31We've spoken about what we have to improve from the previous game and looking ahead to the next game.
06:36So we're not looking that far ahead.
06:38Is it not the case that the players are playing for places perhaps in the cup final?
06:42They're always playing for places.
06:44We've got a team full of internationals that we can call on.
06:46So there's always competition for places at this football club.
06:50Thanks, Roger.
06:52John?
06:53You touched on it there and it's hard to explain the performance on Monday night.
06:57Is it a mentality thing that you say with the players?
07:02I think that you could look at it in many different ways.
07:06I think we definitely have to show a stronger mentality to recover after the early setback.
07:121-0 down, three minutes into the game, you can recover that situation,
07:15especially with the talent we have on the pitch.
07:19So, yeah, I would say we have to recover from those moments a lot better.
07:22Would you say the players now owe it to the fans in the final four games of the season
07:27to pitch up and actually show some desire for the supporters who are,
07:32who are at least fed so angry at the moment?
07:35What's your question? Sorry?
07:36Do the players owe it to the fans to pitch up, show some desire in the final four games of
07:40the season
07:41for the fans? Because there is a lot of anger at it, I think.
07:43Yeah, we know, the players know, I know, the staff know, everyone at the club knows
07:47that the recent performances have been nowhere near the expected standard
07:52and we're going to do everything we can to improve that.
08:07My role as the coach is to review the game and explain the moments that have cost us
08:11or moments that we could have took more advantage of.
08:13So we're looking at it more from a football perspective
08:16in some of the things that happened within that game that we can do a lot better.
08:20And hopefully that shows on Saturday.
08:24Thanks, John.
08:24Keris?
08:25Hi.
08:26Can I ask you specifically about Garnaccio, Neto and Sanchez after he went off
08:30with the head injury as well?
08:32Are they expected to be available this weekend?
08:34Neto and Garnaccio are carrying knocks,
08:36so it's looking unlikely that they're going to be available.
08:40Rob is also not going to be available after the injury that he sustained
08:44not in a Forest game.
08:46What do you see as your attacking options in that case, I guess?
08:50Because a lot of people have picked up knocks,
08:51you're looking pretty thin on the ground at the front.
08:55Yeah, we've still got a lot of good players,
08:58still got a lot of players available that can impact football games.
09:00So we're going to have to make up some of the players we're missing in different ways
09:06in the way that we shape the team up.
09:08But I probably don't want to go into too much detail on that right now.
09:11And the reverse game against Liverpool probably was one of Chelsea's results of the season.
09:17Has that come up this week?
09:18Have you been reflecting on that and how they can perhaps bring back
09:23some of what they showed on that day?
09:25Yeah, as a staff, you watch your opponent's games,
09:28you always watch the previous game from the last time you played them
09:32to see how it looks, to see how it matches up,
09:34to see if there's anything you can go after.
09:36We haven't discussed it with the group per se,
09:39but we've watched a lot of Liverpool games.
09:42Thanks, Kiris. Thanks, everyone.
09:44We'll end that section there. Cameras off, please.
