00:29Hello everybody it's me the real Joe and this is Martial Arts Styles a brief history of
00:46Yuichiru Karate. There is no official date of when Yuichiru Karate was founded. The founder
00:56was Kanban Yuichi. Before creating Yuichiru he studied a southern Chinese Kung Fu called
01:04Penji Nun in the Fujin providence which stood for half hard half soft. Some have said that in the
01:1319th and 20th century he studied under a Chinese medicine master but there was no record of this.
01:21It also has been said that he was a member of a secret society he helped to overthrow the Qing
01:29dynasty. After studying for 10 years and teaching for three years he returned to Okinawa. Kanban Yuichi
01:38vowed to never teach martial arts again because one of his students killed their neighbor in a land
01:45dispute. This is a common practice amongst true martial artists who are not greedy and political.
01:54Some of these type of martial art instructors even refused to teach soldiers and law enforcement. Kanban
02:03Yuichi would later travel to Japan to seek employment and become a janitor. His co-worker Ryu Yuutamari convinced
02:12him to teach him some self-defense. Afterwards his co-worker pushed him into believing that he should teach
02:23again and in doing so he was able to help Kanban Yuichi to regain his confidence as a martial arts instructor.
02:32In 1925 Kanban Yuichi established the Institute of Pinjanin-ru Todi Jitsu to the public. In 1940 in his honor his students from Okinawa renamed the system Yuichi-ru Karate Jitsu. Kanban Yuichi
03:00Kanban Yuichi Kanban's son continued his father's legacy by studying Yuichi-ru Karate and passing it down. As of today the style has declined in certain parts of the world especially in the United States. The style is strongest in Japan and Okinawa.
