00:10What's up everyone? Ashna here. Alright, get ready to raise your glasses because I'm about to take you on a tour to some of Toronto's best happy hour spots.
00:18I'm talking $3 tacos, $1 oysters, half-price bottles of wine.
00:23So today we're going to go down King Street West. It's one of the hottest areas of Toronto for restaurants and nightlife.
00:29Alright, let's go. Our first stop is Anejo, a Mexican spot with a long tequila menu.
00:34From 3 to 5 p.m. they have $6 margs, $3 tacos and half-price tequila. Actually they even have a happy hour after 10 o'clock from 10 to 12.
00:42Right when we walked in, the place was already buzzing. It felt so festive. So first impression, the vibes were great.
00:47And I found out that they make fresh guac on the table. It's not on their happy hour menu, but my mouth was watering already.
00:53So we're at a Mexican restaurant, we're going for tequila, tacos and margaritas. We have over-hydrogened and fresh tequila.
00:58I love that there was a long list of margs and tacos to choose from. We ordered the mango and raspberry jalapeno margaritas.
01:05It's good. It's tangy. It's a little bit spicy. It's good.
01:08And for tacos, we got the chicken tinga and crispy fried tilapia. I mean, for an $18 meal, you can't really go wrong.
01:13It's a good taco. Just finished at Anejo and honestly, I had a pretty good time. Their tacos were good.
01:18I mean, it wasn't my favourite taco in the world, but I'd give it like a 7 out of 10. For ambiance, I mean, the place was already buzzing at 4pm.
01:25So overall experience, I'd probably give it a 7 or 8 out of 10. The service was great. The food was good. The margs were great. And I'd definitely go back.
01:33Our next stop is Borrow, a three-floor restaurant serving up South American flavours with a modern twist.
01:39Play nice music.
01:40We got a seat on the rooftop and it was gorgeous.
01:44Oh my gosh, this is so nice.
01:46The big windows let in so much fresh air and natural light, I felt like I was in another country.
01:51Patio is beautiful, but it's 30 degrees outside and the sun is hitting my face a little high.
01:56So the happy hour menu is a little small. There are three drinks to choose from priced at $16 and $15.
02:01And three apps between $10 and $11. I ordered a Mai Tai and lamb skewers.
02:06Look at how beautiful this Mai Tai looks. It's like in a fake coconut looking glass.
02:14That's delicious. This is a delicious cocktail. They definitely know what they're doing.
02:20All the food served on the rooftop is barbecued on this open charcoal grill.
02:24Okay, here are the lamb skewers with chimichurri mayo. Let's try this out.
02:34This is so good. The meat is tender. It's well seasoned. This is really, really good. I want more.
02:41Just left Borrow. It was my first time going there and I loved it.
02:46I really didn't feel like I was in Toronto anymore. I felt like I was in Mexico actually.
02:51The lamb was amazing. The drinks also 10 out of 10.
02:55Overall, I would 150% go back. The place was awesome. The drinks were delicious.
03:00And the music was really, really good too. This is Belfast Love.
03:04I'm not going to get a chance to check it out. They actually just started a new happy hour menu from 12 to 5.
03:10That's a pretty long happy hour. They have $5 bomber lagers and $9 free house spritz cocktails, which is like their house cocktail.
03:17I've been here before, not on a happy hour, and I really enjoyed it.
03:20It's also a place you can think about checking out.
03:22Next, we headed to Locals Only, a lower level bar with a street patio.
03:25We decided to sit outside and enjoy the beautiful day.
03:28And today they have buck-a-shuck oysters, half-priced bottles of wine, and prosecco from 5 to 7 p.m.
03:34I ordered a bottle of wine which came out to be $24 with a discount, six oysters, and a watermelon salad.
03:39The oysters are served with the restaurant's house-made habanero sauce.
03:42And let's just say I was not prepared.
03:45Woo!
03:46It was so spicy.
03:48Okay, just finished up at Locals Only. Such a great spot. I've never been there before.
03:52I love how the patio comes onto the road. You can see people walking.
03:57You really get the vibe of King West. So let's rate it.
04:00Food. I mean, there weren't many food options. There was only oysters for a buck-a-shuck.
04:04The oysters were kind of small though. So there was $1 buck-a-shuck oysters and then half-priced wine.
04:10Half-priced wine is a pretty good deal for a Friday.
04:13Overall ambiance, the music was great. I love how we could talk to the people around us.
04:17So I'm going to give this spot a 7.5 out of 10.
04:20Ruby Soho is also a really popular spot on King West.
04:23It's right on King and Portland.
04:25And as you can see, there's a lineup outside. It's really busy.
04:28Their happy hour is from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. every day.
04:32And they have a really good selection on their menu.
04:35They have a bunch of beers on tap for $7 bucks, cocktails $2 off.
04:39They have shots, wines for $9.
04:41And they have a couple of menu options for $10 bucks.
04:45Next, we're going to check out Mademoiselle Raw Bar & Grill.
04:48They've recently been promoting their happy hour, so let's go see what they have.
04:51Mademoiselle is a swanky restaurant serving up an extensive drink menu and dishes inspired by the European coastline.
04:57Their happy hour includes glasses of wine from $10 to $15 and cocktails ranging from $12 to $22.
05:03This is the Madame. It's their signature drink and it tastes like a lemon creamsicle.
05:11For apps, we got the mini lobster rolls, snapper ceviche and lamb chops. They were all very tasty.
05:16Then the manager came out with a big surprise.
05:18Holy moly!
05:21This is amazing!
05:23What is this?
05:26My favourite was their signature FU roll. It goes for $100.
05:30And no, it's not on their happy hour menu.
05:32Just love Mademoiselle. That place is a vibe.
05:35It feels like you're in a mix of Mykonos and Miami. It was awesome.
05:39So ambiance, 10 out of 10. The food was amazing.
05:44Price point, definitely more expensive than other happy hours you find on King West.
05:50But an elevated happy hour.
05:52I don't think you're gonna get that quality of food anywhere else, at least not from what I've seen.
05:58I will definitely come back to this place, maybe with a little bit more money in my pocket next time.

06:09I mean, it really goes to show that you can find a happy hour that fits your budget and your vibe here.
