In final preparation for New Year’s Eve, the iconic Times Square New Year’s Eve Ball is illuminated and sent up the 130-foot pole atop One Times Square.
Event co-organizers Sherri White, Executive, Jamestown and One Times Square, and Tom Harris, President of the Times Square Alliance, along with Jeffrey Straus, President of Countdown Entertainment, Executive Producer of Times Square New Year’s Eve, and Josh Weinstein, CEO of Carnival Corporation, flip the giant switch to light the Times Square New Year’s Eve Ball initiating the spectacular, dazzling lighting effects as the Ball rises to its celebratory position atop One Times Square.
The Constellation Ball, unveiled in November 2025, is the ninth iteration of the Times Square New Year’s Eve Ball since its debut in 1907. Measuring 12.5 feet in diameter, weighing 12,350 pounds, adorned with 5,280
crystals and LED light pucks, nearly double the number of crystals as the previous Ball, it is the largest New Year’s Eve Ball yet.
