The Times Square Alliance and One Times Square, the co-organizers of Times Square New Year’s Eve, along with presenting sponsor Planet Fitness, release multicolored confetti from the Planet Fitness Center Stage on Broadway. The colorful event is held in preparation for the release of 3,000 pounds of confetti at midnight on New Year’s Eve.

Testing the air worthiness of the confetti is Countdown Entertainment President Jeffrey Straus, Times Square Alliance President Tom Harris, Jamestown and One Times Square Executive Sherri White, and Planet Fitness Vice President Brand Marketing Kay Pancheri with help from the Planet Fitness ambassadors.

The 3,000 pounds of confetti released at midnight on New Year’s Eve will include thousands of wishes from individuals who have submitted them on actual confetti at the New Year’s Eve Wishing Wall in Times Square and via the Virtual Wishing Wall.

00:00Five, four, three, two, one, Happy New Year!
00:09Oh my golly!
00:11This is my favorite day of the year.
00:13We were testing the confetti to get ready for the big celebration on December 31st
00:17when we are breaking records here in Times Square with nearly three tons of confetti being dispersed.
00:23At 10 p.m. we're going to have Planet Fitness purple and yellow.
00:26At midnight we have our traditional multicolored confetti.
00:29And then at 12.04 we are celebrating America's 250th anniversary year with 2,000 pounds of red, white, and blue confetti.
00:37It's going to be covered with confetti here in Times Square.
00:40It's an incredible experience. It's great to think about the phrase practice makes perfect.
00:45So testing the confetti to make sure that it floats beautifully through any weather condition,
00:49as you can see here it's a little rainy today, was an excellent use of our time.
00:53At Planet Fitness we really believe that all people are strong in their own way.
00:57So testing the confetti in this way was a great way to prove that fortitude.
01:00If you guys are ready, we're going to do it one more time.
01:03Ready? Ready? Here we go!
01:06Guys, help me out!
01:08Five, four, three, two, one!
01:13Help me out here! Oh wow!
01:16Oh that, oh!
01:18It's amazing because the confetti is released from five different building rooftops,
01:23east, west, north, south.
01:25So that we actually create a blanket of confetti that fills the sky in Times Square
01:30and creates that just celebratory effect.
01:33When that ball descends and goes dark and 2026 lights up and the confetti fills the sky,
01:39it's just a magical moment here in Times Square and you can hear people cheering all the way to New Jersey.
01:45and through it, you can hear people shouting at the people in Times Square,
01:49according to those who have been searching for seeing someone who has been searching for a bit
01:51before seeing people in Times Square,
01:53all the time they're out there.
01:54They can hear people even if you're out there.
01:56They can hear people what are they doing,
01:57and then they're like the biggest financial questions.
01:58And they can hear people I know they're especial.
01:59And they're just there.
02:00They can hear people come from home and they're really cute.
02:02So they come as easily.
02:03But we're just thinking, they're just seeing people they're just trying to fill this up.
